View 8 RepliesMy Blackberry Curve 8330 is having a problem with the voice dialing spontaneously turning on. Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Verizon Curve, 8330, has been going into a loop for the past two weeks with "Voice Dialing Initializing" showing up randomly. When I get out of it, it will soon pop up again. When this starts to happen, any outgoing calls I try to make will be instantly disconnected. The problem starts, sometimes, after receiveing a call--I can't hear the other party and then they can't hear me.When I hang up, the loop starts.I do have bluetooth on to automatically hook into my car when I am driving.I tried to fix the problem by upgrading the operating system from 4.5.77 to 4.5.175, but the problem is persisting. The button on the side is not set to activate voice dialing (I switched it shortly after I got the phone 18 months ago). Any suggestions would be appreciated--I do not want to have to remove VOD but if there is no other solution will have to. There is a discussion under the Pearl for this problem, but I do not see it discussed in the Curve area.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a curve 8330 and the voice activated dialing initializes on its own and loops in 3 second intervals until i do a battery pull. While the VAD is looping I am unable to make or recieve calls, it either disconnects me or mutes the phone and i am unable to unmute it. I removed the VAD all together using a program called MAXMEM, but the phone is still malfunctioning. now when i try to make an outgoing call it attempts to connect me for about 3 seconds then disconnects me. When trying to answer incoming calls it mutes the phone. I cant hear anything and the person calling me cant either. I went into settings and did a factory restore but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to completely un-install the OS/software and re-install it? Im hoping that that will fix it. i have tried doing it via the BB website but was unable to.

I see people on other forums having the same problem but I don't see any response from blackberry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSpoke with Sprint tech support last night whom tells me to go into a Sprint repair center to get the latest PRL updates, and to have SMS Voice Messaging installed on my phone. This is a feature where one can send INSTANT voice mails to people. Its not the same as MMS as a receipt not on a data plan can receive messages. My last Sprint phone had it, and it was cool being able to send a voice mail to someone in a few steps and not having to force them to go to the web which would defeat the purpose. Is this true or did the agent not understand me? sad enough as it is but Sprint offers this feature on many of their phones, but only like .01% of their staff knows what it is.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Blackberry Curve for nearly a year now, and played brickbreaker a lot. When I got my high score of 330,000+ with 70 lives my blackberry froze and an auto restart was neccesary wiping out all the data for the game. Ever since then my the game has been extremely choppy, and the battery life has drastically dropped. A week ago it began to freeze citing 'Voice Dialing search....' as the culprit. I keep it in standby mode when not using it, and have never tried to voice dial. Now, even when I send 5 texts and keep it in standby mode while at work all day the battery still goes dead to 10% after 12 hours. Neither Bluetooth or any internet connection is enabled Do I need a new battery, or is there something that I can do to fix it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am new to this forum and have been quite pleased with my 9700 until recently. For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

I connect with my bluetooth, the application does start and prompts me for a voice command, and after I give it, the application will pull up a name that is not EVEN close. View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else find voice dialing useless on their Tour? My previous phones' voice-dialing functions worked smashingly well (99% success over four years), but the Tour I just want to smash. (100% failure)
I read the threads suggested for my subject entry, and some people seem to have great luck, while others don't. I've tried the voice adaption in a silent room, I've tried turning off prompts, etc... It remains literally TOTALLY useless.
"Call Pete" results in "Please try again". I try again, and I get, "Sorry, command not recognized."
"Call Home" yields "Did you say, Call ATT Customer Service?" What?
Thinking maybe I have a bad mic element in the phone, I tried my BT headset. With that, "Call Pete" results in "Calling Ford Dealer Work 1" and then to add insult to injury, "she" says, "Next time, just say "call Ford dealer work 1".
I really used the heck out of voice dialing on my previous phones, and find it hard to believe that a much newer phone won't work at all. I hate regressing with technology.
I'm still in my 30-days "satisfaction guarantee" and I may just have to try something else. I can't believe this function is so totally useless.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000, and sometimes the bugger just drives me nuts. This has only happened to me twice now, but it's a pretty costly issue..My voice dialing seems to randomly turn on, I have no idea what is leading up to it, I hadn't had my headphone jack in it for a couple of hours. But then, the next morning, my alarm doesn't go off because the stupid voice dialing was activated [as you can see, this is a costly issue because it has lead to me missing a shift].Anyways, all the posts that I have read the solution has been to disable the side key.. Which I did a long time ago, and I double checked today, yes, it is turned to video camera, not voice dialing. How do I disable my voice dialing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to permanently disable this feature and can't find where to do so. When using a bluetooth headset, if I press the button in a call, it hangs up. However, if the other end hangs up first, my phone calls a random number from the phone book when I try to hang up myself. The same happens if the headset gets touched accidentally.
