Sometimes companies will advertise a toll free number with letters. I am having a problem dialing these numbers on my BB since I cnat spell out the letters on the phone. So how would I dial the numbers? For example 1-888-22-peace.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 8330 is having a problem with the voice dialing spontaneously turning on. Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Verizon Curve, 8330, has been going into a loop for the past two weeks with "Voice Dialing Initializing" showing up randomly.When I get out of it, it will soon pop up again.When this starts to happen, any outgoing calls I try to make will be instantly disconnected.The problem starts, sometimes, after receiveing a call--I can't hear the other party and then they can't hear me.When I hang up, the loop starts.I do have bluetooth on to automatically hook into my car when I am driving.I tried to fix the problem by upgrading the operating system from 4.5.77 to 4.5.175, but the problem is persisting. The button on the side is not set to activate voice dialing (I switched it shortly after I got the phone 18 months ago). Any suggestions would be appreciated--I do not want to have to remove VOD but if there is no other solution will have to. There is a discussion under the Pearl for this problem, but I do not see it discussed in the Curve area.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a curve 8330 and the voice activated dialing initializes on its own and loops in 3 second intervals until i do a battery pull. While the VAD is looping I am unable to make or recieve calls, it either disconnects me or mutes the phone and i am unable to unmute it. I removed the VAD all together using a program called MAXMEM, but the phone is still malfunctioning. now when i try to make an outgoing call it attempts to connect me for about 3 seconds then disconnects me. When trying to answer incoming calls it mutes the phone. I cant hear anything and the person calling me cant either. I went into settings and did a factory restore but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to completely un-install the OS/software and re-install it? Im hoping that that will fix it. i have tried doing it via the BB website but was unable to.

Lock screen today started displaying blank white boxes where there should be numbers and letters, as seen in picture below. It still unlocks fine however.
Upgraded to Lollipop at the weekend so i'm assuming a bug related to the update.
I dropped my phone in water and then I dried it with a blow dryer put it in rice. Then it turned on a seems to work fine except when I use the keypad only the number symbol comes up or a square. Like no numbers or letters come up. I cant type messages. And when I scroll through my inbox it marks all the messages. I am confused I think my number lock is on or something.

It has started dialling random numbers during the night, sometimes my contacts, sometimes just four or five digits, and once to my service operator's helpline. It also did it when it was switched off so I had to start removing the battery at night. Just last week, it wouldn't let me send text messages. I tried the recommendations found on this forum but nothing worked although the sim does work in other phones.
I got in contact with Virgin Mobile and they arranged for me to send them the phone for it to be looked at. Unfortunately, the connection between the USB socket and the phone had been damaged somehow (not sure how as I'm very careful with my phone) so the warranty has been invalidated They say they can't do anything although I have no problem connecting the phone to my computer.
when dialling my service provider number which is 808 the phone automatically inserts the first two digits between brackets i.e. (80)8 which then becomes an invalid number. is there an option to set the dialing format?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Its not rooted. But I am running Nova Launcher as my default launcher. It causes my lock screen to kinda glitch out. The letters and numbers on the pin lock screen are turning into solid white blocks. I know if I restart my phone, it fixes it. But I'm just curious as to what causes it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhilst on a call this morning my phone randomly called Orange answer phone and put my original call on hold, I cancelled the answer phone call and went back to original then within the next minute the original call went quiet and I heard the ringing tone and discovered it was randomly calling a number (it was not a saved contact and I had to go through history later to see where it had come from and found it was a call I had received last Saturday - so not even a call in recent history) I have no speed dials set up - I did double check this! When prompted I did the latest upgrade last week to v7.1 bundle 1149(v7.1.0.342 - platform 5.1.0.276) and was pleased was prompted to do this as it included the update to wifi calling which I need in certain areas though I didn't have it enabled today.

I am looking for a way to type letters with accent marks (i.e. á, ñ, é, etc.). I can't figure out how to do so, though. I have tried the following things-Going into Symbols and looking for them.Holding down letters to see if they would change to the new letters (this worked on my old phone, however, it was Pantech, not Blackberry).Pressing the letters repeatedly.Also, before anyone asks, I am sure that the input language was turned to Spanish.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell a couple of months ago, on bbm, if I was to type a message it would delete what I was saying and randomly change to symbols instead of letters, and it would be stuck on alt. Recently, I have not had the charger for three days, as my brother took it, so my phone was dead for three days. When I got the charger back and charged it up, the keyboard wouldn't work, then it would go dead even though I am pushing the button that turns it on. And the only way it does turn on is when you charge it but it lasts for 5 seconds literally. The weirdest thing is the light is still flashing?

The keys also seem to have a slow response time. Especially the backspace button which i have to click multiple times to get to delete things. And it seems random for which letters it doubles up, but this problem has been happening for the past 4 days.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, my phone has started adding +31 before all calls that I make using my contacts list.I'll select a contact that shows the number as "789-789-7890" and when it dials, it will show "+317897897890." There will then be a prompt that says the number can't be reached and I should dial again.This makes the entire contact list function worthless as I have to manually enter numbers in order to call them. All contacts seem to be affected.
