Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia E5 Dropped In Water - Cannot Type Numbers / Letters
Dec 31, 2011
I dropped my phone in water and then I dried it with a blow dryer put it in rice. Then it turned on a seems to work fine except when I use the keypad only the number symbol comes up or a square. Like no numbers or letters come up. I cant type messages. And when I scroll through my inbox it marks all the messages. I am confused I think my number lock is on or something.
I am experiencing a problem in Skype and a pre-release version of Smart Office 2 with the keyboard on my E6 (as yet without Belle refresh). When I type in lower case within the numeric field, instead of letters I get numbers and symbols. The phone is working perfectly otherwise.
My E7 had fell in the water about 3 weeks ago. I dry them with cloth and hair dryer from far. Than I put them in the bucket of rice. It work fine , but the led light keep flashing when I make a call. Now the screen suddenly gone grey. I haven't got it insured. Only got it after it was available in UK on contract. Please help. Can it be repair? If so I will have to send it to o2. I just want to know if it still repairable in that condition.
I tried to find any setting to enable backlight for kepad in Nokia E6, but to no avail. Will it be fixed in next firmware version? my firmware version is 022.014.
my phone dropped in a puddle of water last night. i quickly pulled it out but of course water got into it. it was working fine at first then this afternoon it started freezing up on me. the phone now works except for the keys. when i open up a blank SMS sheet or open up WhatsApp the cursor starts moving on its own as if the space key is stuck and i have to press the middle button a few times b4 i get a response. Any solutions? i tried blow drying it, and i put it in a bag of rice for a few minutes. should i leave it in the rice overnight?!
I had received a letter of advice (you can call it a letter of warning) from the local authority on nuisance calls made to the local emergency hotline. There had been a few instances of this issue happening, and I would like to find out if there is a shortcut key. I had the latest happened to me again yesterday and I think the local authority will be writing to me again very soon. I would like to do either of the following:- 1. Change the local emergency number to a invalid entry so that it shows up an error whenever I try to call. 2. Disable the emergency call totally 3. [last resort] get local mobile service provider to bar all emergency calls made from my phone. Am not sure if the local mobile service provider will bar emergency calls...
I have dropped my n97 mini in water. After disassembling it (cause warranty is voided if liquid issue) and drying it the device runs ok except for the microphone, when I receive a call I can only hear, not speak.I took the phone at a nokia care point and they said that the microphone is embedded on the motherboard and can not replace it...How can I make n97 mini`s microphone work?
I have a Nokia Supernova 7610 phone with 3.2 megapixel camera. Some days ago it dropped into water and I had to repair it via Nokia service centre. But after it was returned to me whenever I am opening the camera hazy lines and grains are appearing and the clarity of picture is not like I used to have before. I guess moisture or fungus has caused this in the lens. Is it possible to clear the camera lens if i give it to Nokia care?
I dropped my E72 in Milk, turned it on after only cleaning the exterior, and it shorted out. Lesson learnt, I've cleaned it out etc. Don't bother lecturing me on this.At this stage, the phone will turn on, the Nokia title will come up, however the two hands will not play.It stays sitting at the Nokia title for about 5 seconds then it attempts to go to the main menu. Half of the main menu is visable, when the error message comes up saying "Not enough memory", and or "Phone cannot start, please contact retailer". Ok, so from this perspective, you would just judge this instantly and say the phone is stuffed. However I had many of important contacts, and notes in which I save frequently on this phone. I don't care if the phone will never work again, I just want to know if there is a way to survey what memory is available, and what is not. I want my contacts, I want my notes. Simple small bytes of memory, not megabytes.
I called up Nokia, and they dude was not extremely helpful, and kept refering to "Plugging it into the computer and using Ovi Sync". My computer does not recognise there is any devises plugged in when I plug in my E72 into the computer. Ovi sync will not have any better luck.I need someone else to do this for me, with detailed technical experience. Like maybe one of the guys at the Nokia warranty and repair warehouses. As title, my question remains, is it possible for the data to be retrieved? If so, great, I can order a new motherboard, and transfer the contacts/notes across, as all other components in my phone are fully functioning.
last week, I went to the beach with my friends and unfortunately, my dear phone was dropped in the water T.T. I tried to take the battery out immediately. 2 days later, I put the battery back, it seems to work well EXCEPT the middle / main button T.T. I tried to hit that button hard but it's not working.
my e51 before 5 days fell into water and its unable to start . If i plug the charger the right bright light starts and after some seconds it shows nothing i think that the charging "ic" is gone becoz when i tried to start with another battery it got started but when i plug the charger it doesn't charge?
It happens quite often every 3rd sms i sent , that whenever I type a message then lights goes off and Handset restarts itself. I have done Hard Reset with *#7370# and Also Reinstalled the firmware.
I recently got myself an E7-00 after using a E71 for two years. In the E71 I often saved entries in the calendar as a Memo entry. I backed up the E71 and restored to the E7 and have all my entries back in the calender but now I find that I cannot open the memos that I saved. I am able to edit them but they then change into a regular entry. I see that I cannot choose a memo entry when I add a new entry to the calendar, so apparently this functionality was dropped for some reason.
This is very annoying as I cannot get to the info I saved now. Is there a way around this to get this type of entry back? Or at least to look at my old entries?
My 3GS was dropped into water-is there anything I c an do to save it? It will power up and I put it through the restore procedure, which it seemed to respond to, but it still won't work.
My IPhone if having trouble with the screen, I can't type neither letter M nor I. I did an icloud backup and restore the phone thinking that could fix it and it didn't. Now I can't get to my backup in icloud because letter M and I are part of the user/password needed.
how to get to my backup? Can I access icloud from iTunes?
I recently bought a new Nokia E5 and so far i love it. i have my previous network's SIM card and i want to "find" and save all my freinds' numbers onto my E5.
I have the Blackberry Curve 8320. I downloaded all the language options for Spanish and installed them on my device. I am looking for a way to type letters with accent marks (i.e. á, ñ, é, etc.). I can't figure out how to do so, though. I have tried the following things-Going into Symbols and looking for them.Holding down letters to see if they would change to the new letters (this worked on my old phone, however, it was Pantech, not Blackberry).Pressing the letters repeatedly. Also, before anyone asks, I am sure that the input language was turned to Spanish.
Hey folks, a few weeks ago I dropped my Curve in some water. I dried it out in some rice and reloaded all the software. It works now except for one major problem.the trackball will not scroll at all. It won't go up or down or left or right. It will still select.I have a completely new housing and trackball. I tried an old trackball but it didn't work either. I cleaned the new trackball with some alcohol as well as the contacts in the phone but it still won't work.
the speaker works as long as it isn't turned up to the highest option, then it becomes crackly. The microphone works, but you have to talk softly or be far away for the sound to be unmuffled. Headphones work perfectly. I know Apple doesn't cover water damage, so what can I do to save my phone?
When I try to type in numbers on the Home screen to place a call, the numbers are not displaying in the white block box that pops up. The numbers are inputting but do not display, if I type the correct numbers and press send it will call. However, when it starts ringing I get a "Note: Call Forwarding Active. I do not know if these two problems are related. I don't even know what I did to activate call forwarding. Letters and Numbers will display when pressed in other applications so I do not know what did to screw it up because they displayed before when I typed. This phone is a Straight Talk - E71.
