Mar 19, 2012I had received a letter of advice (you can call it a letter of warning) from the local authority on nuisance calls made to the local emergency hotline. There had been a few instances of this issue happening, and I would like to find out if there is a shortcut key. I had the latest happened to me again yesterday and I think the local authority will be writing to me again very soon. I would like to do either of the following:- 1. Change the local emergency number to a invalid entry so that it shows up an error whenever I try to call. 2. Disable the emergency call totally 3. [last resort] get local mobile service provider to bar all emergency calls made from my phone. Am not sure if the local mobile service provider will bar emergency calls...

Jul 13, 2011When I try to type in numbers on the Home screen to place a call, the numbers are not displaying in the white block box that pops up. The numbers are inputting but do not display, if I type the correct numbers and press send it will call. However, when it starts ringing I get a "Note: Call Forwarding Active. I do not know if these two problems are related. I don't even know what I did to activate call forwarding. Letters and Numbers will display when pressed in other applications so I do not know what did to screw it up because they displayed before when I typed. This phone is a Straight Talk - E71.

Dec 31, 2011I dropped my phone in water and then I dried it with a blow dryer put it in rice. Then it turned on a seems to work fine except when I use the keypad only the number symbol comes up or a square. Like no numbers or letters come up. I cant type messages. And when I scroll through my inbox it marks all the messages. I am confused I think my number lock is on or something.

Apr 19, 2012I just bought my first smartphone, a Nokia E7-00. I also downloaded the English (and German because I live in Switzerland) user guides. I also managed to download and install the latest software for the E7. So far so good.Both the user guides (Eng. & German) for the E7 (Bella) keep mentioning some kind of icon which looks like this:

(I will call it "that icon")
This is apparently the icon for some kind of Menu. From there I should be able to e.g.
Select "that icon" > Contacts
[code]....
But on my E7 I do not have any icon that looks like that anywhere, nor do I have a button called "Menu" (which the Nokia website mentions e.g. as "Select Menu > Applications"..Izam at my wits end.When I switch it on, the E7 shows the signal strength and my Provider at top left, the antenna, a battery shape and the battery strength at top right, a "Go to Music", then beneath that, a globe, a square white box, an envelope and four heads (which wants to connect me to Facebook etc). lower down is "New Mailbox" (with Ovi etc), Phone Setup which doesn't offer me any options apart from the ringtones etc and images and at the very bottom Options ooo Call. The Options only allows me to see open applications, edit home screen, change wallpaper etc.

Jun 21, 2012This is driving me to distraction on my Nokia E72 which I have been very pleased with everything on it, but the GPS receiver is pretty dire in my unit.I have access points correctly configured and tried just about every combination of positioning methods to no avail.Most of the time I end up having to set off in the car and sometimes the GPS gets a lock (having been set on waiting for GPS) and sometimes, it just never catches up and I switch it off. Worse, yesterday I started getting directions having supposedly got a lock, for all the wrong roads and directions as the phone thought it was somewhere else!This has been on good clear days and days where it has been overcast.Nokia Maps is set to online mode.How do other people find the GPS in the E72? My phone is on v81.003, I can't upgrade it to a later version as it says there is none.Mine is a SIM free unlocked phone from new.

Recently, my sister and I swapped phones and kept our respective sim cards (which are on the same network provider), my former phone accepts the sim card and she is able to send and recieve texts, and phone calls. The problem being that when she tries to make calls (from my former phone) there sometimes is no dial tone. I was told that the phone had saved data from my sim card and needed to be reformatted, is this the case?

May 17, 2012I wasn't able to back up all my information via PC Suite as the connection kept going, so I backed it all up to my memory card. The phone is now working OK (including connecting to PC Suite) but I can't see the option to restore the information (calendar and contacts) from my memory card to my phone. I know it should be in File Manager, Memory Card, Options, but the option simply isn't there- I can either remove my memory card, or back up my phone to the memory card which as it has no information on it I don't want to do!

Nov 28, 2011I have just bough a Lexar 32GB class 10 Micro SD card that I am trying to use to replace the current 8GB class 4 card in my Nokia E72. I am trying to copy the data that is on the old card over to the new card. I have used the Nokia suite to make a backup and then resort that back up to the new card but then some of my apps are not there. I have also tried to copy the conents of the old card to the my computer using a card reader and then copy this to the new card (inclusing all hidden files, using Windows Explorer). This gets me more apps back but not everything. So, what is the best way to upgrade the memory card an keep all the data?

Mar 7, 2011I have been all over the web, FB'ing it to Nokia and to StraightTalk, and I am STILL unclear. I just got my E71 about a month ago and already it's saying I have used over 2 of the 4gigs that came with the phone. Don't see how, but okay. I went and got a 16GB card. A Mobile microSDHC by SanDisk. First of all, I've been getting conflicting reports that this phone will not even accept a 16GB card. Second, are there any important Apps preloaded by Nokia on this pre-installed card that I need to worry about possibly losing. I bought a bluetooth connector for my laptop, a dual-ended usb for data transfer from phone to PC and I also have 30GB of SugarSync. No adapter came with the 16GB card I just bought, but I have an unopened 4GB card by same manufacturer that does have an adapter. If this is your prescribed method, can the 16GB card go in the 4GB adapter? I really don't want to lose anything on my phone, especially none of OVI Maps, which I heard part of might be on this 4GB card. But I don't want to lose the apps I paid for either. I can't switch much to the phone memory, I have only 55MB.
