I have an E63 phone with 1GB memory card. I am able to change settings for storing photos and music in the memory card. However, the sms that I receive get automatically saved in phone memory and I am not able to find how to change the setting to memory card.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wasn't able to back up all my information via PC Suite as the connection kept going, so I backed it all up to my memory card. The phone is now working OK (including connecting to PC Suite) but I can't see the option to restore the information (calendar and contacts) from my memory card to my phone. I know it should be in File Manager, Memory Card, Options, but the option simply isn't there- I can either remove my memory card, or back up my phone to the memory card which as it has no information on it I don't want to do!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just bough a Lexar 32GB class 10 Micro SD card that I am trying to use to replace the current 8GB class 4 card in my Nokia E72. I am trying to copy the data that is on the old card over to the new card. I have used the Nokia suite to make a backup and then resort that back up to the new card but then some of my apps are not there. I have also tried to copy the conents of the old card to the my computer using a card reader and then copy this to the new card (inclusing all hidden files, using Windows Explorer). This gets me more apps back but not everything. So, what is the best way to upgrade the memory card an keep all the data?

Whenever I turn it on it starts to install something... then ends up saying "Untrusted software on memory card. Go to application manager to install"There are old apps I had installed on my old phone in the app manager that I can't remove, and I think this may be the problem. when I try to remove them it says it failed. I then started up the new E71 and configured it, i removed my 8GB memory card from the E63 which was working perfectly and placed it into the E71, i go to encrypt the card on the E71 and receive this message " Key not matched to this memory card, memory card cannot be used ".I ignore the fact that i cannot acess my music on the memory card, so i restore my files from the E63 on the E71 via the Suite, i then receive the message that only 'part' of the backup was completed because it cannot fit the rest because there is no memory card or it is not in place. How do i receive my music via the memory card that was on the E63 and use the card on the E71 and finish the rest of my backup?

This seems to be a ridiculous amount of memory to be consumed by just one application. Took all the usual precautions like removing remote lock (didn't reset the custom lock code to default) backup content to PC & memory card, then removed the card from the phone before upgrade. Then after upgrade and restoring settings inserted the card & was prompted for a password. View 3 Replies View Relatedi've had my E72 since oct 10 and during that time i've had a few accounts of freezing when ending applications etc but nothing major. Also i was having the access point menu randomly flashing up. I noticed these issues more (the access point menu entirley) after i updated the software. I was also noticing the keypad not lighting up everytime i used it, it would come on half way through a text.
I took the phone to my local express repair center where they simply hard reset the phone although im not sure if they did anything to the keypad/light sensor. Since getting the phone back its freezing worse than before and the keypad seems to be no better. Through looking on here i've found that memory cards can cause freezing and i've recently swapped my old samsung one for the one supplied with the phone. I also didn't realise about the light sensor but the keypad has been unlit in the dark before!Are the supplied memory cards just bad or is it the handset and has anyone else had issues with there keypad light?
Is there an easy way to move E71 downloaded apps from the phone to the data card memory, using the phone itself?
Or, will I need to delete the apps and reinstall them again to the data card? I've attempted to find a move option per downloaded app but do not see such an option.
I have an E71x. It has a BUNCH of issues, but my main problem now is I was saving my text messages to my installed memory card. The card became full. I took the card out to get some audio files and other stuff off it to make more room. Well, at some point the phone said the memory card was missing and it would use the internal memory. Now I can't get it to use the memory card again. I see no way to put it back to that. I think the only option I got was to "Copy" messages to the memory card. But I don't want to do that.
I need to save as much stuff as I can off the phone, then reset or restore the phone to the factory settings, or just re-install everything. (this Symbian OS and Nokias poor support of it are for the birds...)But, how do I get the phone to save messages to my memory card again?

Have just been sent new E72 as my old one died (see my other post). All is well except when i connect to PC via USB cable and select 'Mass Storage' I get the message 'Memory Store Unavailable' on my phone and cannot access the contents of my memory card. I have the latest firmware on the phone. I can access the card through nokia PC Suite but that's a pain and I never had this problem before with my old E72.I'm running XP - if I go to my computer and double click 'Removable Disc (E' I just get the 'please insert disc into drive E' message.

My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
