Eseries / Communicators :: Can't Find SIP Or VOIP Setting App
Nov 6, 2011
I can't find the voip setting app in Ctrl. panel. I have just updated to the latest firmware. I am using E72-2 RM-529. My software version is 081.003. I believe I have downloaded and installed the right SIP Voip setting. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have downloaded SIP VoIP 3.x Settings (164 kb) from this page. [URL]It installs fine but when I go in Ctrl. panel, its not there. I have checked in other menu such as Settings and Apps. menu but to no avail.I am under the impression that Nokia is blocking SIP clients on newer updates.
i have problem in voice chat or voice call in skype. I want to ask all of you that how to updat VOIP serv. Some days before i had voip ver. 1. But now my voip has updated to 2.02. Tell me the way to install it.
My E52 won't let me connect it to my FritzBox as a Voip phone. Making an SIP Protocol works fine and the connection gets established, but I don't get the additional configuration options that "SIP_VoIP_3_x_Settings_v2_0_en.sis" is said to provide, so I can't complete the configuration.
I have tried to configure SCCP VoIP on my Nokia E71 for access to corporate VoIP network.Configuration received from VoIP administrator:Cisco VoIP server name"device name"pin I've enter configuration parameters into phone (excluding point 2) and unsuccessfully tried to connect. In my opinion device name is my phone hostname and I should to change it. How to change phone hostname? Nokia CC Cisco installedBluetooth name changed to "device name"Googling does not helpDoes anybody know about same SCCM VoIP issue on Nokia E7 and Nokia 701?
I installed SIP VoIP 3x Setting on my phone, but I can not use Internet Call over 3G/UMTS directly like use Wifi network.I'm afraid of E72 modem do not support Data packet fully.
I have set a VoIP account on my E6.When I want to use it, the Nokia documentation says :"Install an internet call service You can search for internet call services from Ovi Store. For details, go to [URL] Download an installation widget for the internet call service. To start the installation, select the installation widget.Follow the instructions. When an internet call service has been installed, a tab for the service is displayed in the contacts list."But there is no ToIP widget service on Ovi store !how I can make VoIP calls?
In my New Nokia E72 White Edition Advanced VoIP Settings option missing.Control Panel< Connectivity<Net Setting< Download< ?In net setting folder only Download is show and when open Download -Refresh two item show,1 Chat 2 Microsoft Commun. And how to make SIP Profile to make Internet call.I have Nokia E72 and Nokia C7 Astound.I am wating for solution
So, for the first time since I got it, I tried setting some new wallpapers, see if maybe there's something that'd look nice. But then presented itself a problem: when I set a wallpaper, the upper and lower edges of the screen remained a blurry sort of thing, the same colour as the default background of the theme (in my case, it was the Golden Business). My question is whether this can be disabled? I searched, and I couldn't find. Also, writin' this on my Nokia E72 right now (yeah, advertising Nokia's product on their own site).
It's taken the better part of a day to figure out, but I finally have SIP working on the Nokia E72. I have worked my fingers to the **bleep** bone, but after five or six hours of searching and banging my head against a wall, it finally works. I've decided to document this struggle so that others may perhaps endure less suffering.
In case it makes any difference, I'm using the North American version of the E72. The model is listed as being an E72-2, RM-529. It was purchased through Expansys: it's unlocked and carrier-neutral, straight from Nokia.
Naturally the first thing I did was set up a generic SIP profile. Try as I might, no matter what settings I used, it simply would not work. First there was no option for an "internet call" in my contact list (see below for the problem). Then, when I figured out how to get it to show up, it would always return "Authentication failed" when I tried making a call.
I won't discuss my unsuccessful attempts any further: I will instead describe for you, step my step, the magic dance I did to make it all work.
Setting up SIP on the E72
1. Go to your Control Panel and into Net Settings.
2. All you see at first is an option called "Download." This retrieves a list of "services" that Nokia makes available to you.
3. Click on the Gizmo5 service. This is a sip / voip provider that would probably work very nicely with your phone, but Google bought them out a few months ago and now they aren't taking any registrations. Your phone will now download and install a Gizmo5 app...
4. Next you'll be asked if you'd like to create an account. Click No until it stops nagging you.
OK, what we've done now is install the Gizmo5 service on the phone... if you go back to Control Panel > Net Settings you'll see this:
Now if you open up your contact list, you'll see an option for Internet Call:
5. That's great, but you're not done yet. Now go to your SIP settings through Control Panel > Settings > Connection > SIP Settings. My phone looked like this:
Note that I have two profiles... the second one is my first and unsuccessful attempt at getting everything to work; just ignore it. What you'll see is the GIZMO VoIP profile. The secret sauce is that you have to edit this profile... just overwrite everything with your SIP provider's information, though I'd leave the profile name alone.
I have an E6 and I periodically send test emails. I noticed that sometimes I receive my test emails instantly. Other times I receive them after a good while. On past phones I was able to set how often to check email, but on my E6 for some reason I cant.
ive set ip all up and its working fine. however I kind of changed the network mode settings to be GSM from Dual Mode under connectivity to reduce my battery usage in power saving i cant access internet while deactivating this option Im able to.I wish I can change it back at the same time use power saving mode. what do I do it keeps on changing back to GSM when I activate power saving mode?
I installed a 32gb Kingston memory card on my E5, used the phone to format it and restored data manually from my old memory card via USB/PC.. and am having several issues.OviMaps is no longer displaying street maps !When I take pictures, ~1MB files are created on my memory card in the pictures folder, but they are not readable by the phone or a PC.Ovi Suite says everything is up to date, and E5 does not allow you to download specific maps.
I am using E52 and I have installed Whatsapp Messenger. It uses my packet data connection and I am rob off my credit. The only way I know to stop this is to uninstall Whatsapp. Is there any way or an app on OviStore which can enable/disable my packet data connection as per my wish.
I just updated my Nokia E6 to Symbian Belle. When I try to edit the EAP-PEAP settings for my corporate WPA2 secured network, the settings simply crashes and returns to the home screen.
Well basically, is this possible? If so, how? The basic reason for this is because I am trying to free up space, so anything else I can do so move stuff to the SD card would be great (like contacts or anything else).
My new E7 had an issue right out of box freezing frequently. The problem was solved by restoring factory settings and the phone works perfectly now. Unfortunately all the pre-installed wallpapers and maybe something else useful, disappeared in the process of reverting to factory settings. Where can I find those disappeared wallpapers and any applications that may have been destroyed as well?
1) Searching all over, there doesn't seem to be a basic alarm feature. I can create calendar a specific calendar event but that seems like overkill if I just want the phone to wake me up from a short nap.
2) The documentation says to press the Shift key twice to switch between uppercase & lowercase. This seems to work everywhere but at the begining of a line. Why the special case?
I currently have two default connections on my Nokia E7, priority 1 is my company's wlan, priority 2 is the internet. I want to change it so the wlan is priority 2, how can i do this?
After setting for Mail for Exchange, my Nokia E7 phone shows low memory. I checked C Memory & there are only important files & that too of small sizes. All major Applications are installed in Mass Memory only. Is "Low Memory" issue due to Mail for Exchange? If so, is it possible to transfer / change the data of Mail Exchange to Mass Memory instead of Phone Memory?
My partner and I have both brought E71's, I set up access to my email easily then went to do my partners phone and we get up to the enter email address step and it kicks us out and wont let us enter a password or anything....
I just bought my first smartphone, a Nokia E7-00. I also downloaded the English (and German because I live in Switzerland) user guides. I also managed to download and install the latest software for the E7. So far so good. Both the user guides (Eng. & German) for the E7 (Bella) keep mentioning some kind of icon which looks like this:
[]O OO (I will call it "that icon") This is apparently the icon for some kind of Menu. From there I should be able to e.g. Select "that icon" > Contacts
[code]....
But on my E7 I do not have any icon that looks like that anywhere, nor do I have a button called "Menu" (which the Nokia website mentions e.g. as "Select Menu > Applications"..Izam at my wits end. When I switch it on, the E7 shows the signal strength and my Provider at top left, the antenna, a battery shape and the battery strength at top right, a "Go to Music", then beneath that, a globe, a square white box, an envelope and four heads (which wants to connect me to Facebook etc). lower down is "New Mailbox" (with Ovi etc), Phone Setup which doesn't offer me any options apart from the ringtones etc and images and at the very bottom Options ooo Call. The Options only allows me to see open applications, edit home screen, change wallpaper etc.
This is driving me to distraction on my Nokia E72 which I have been very pleased with everything on it, but the GPS receiver is pretty dire in my unit.I have access points correctly configured and tried just about every combination of positioning methods to no avail. Most of the time I end up having to set off in the car and sometimes the GPS gets a lock (having been set on waiting for GPS) and sometimes, it just never catches up and I switch it off. Worse, yesterday I started getting directions having supposedly got a lock, for all the wrong roads and directions as the phone thought it was somewhere else! This has been on good clear days and days where it has been overcast.Nokia Maps is set to online mode. How do other people find the GPS in the E72? My phone is on v81.003, I can't upgrade it to a later version as it says there is none.Mine is a SIM free unlocked phone from new.
yesterday my phone was fine, and this morning when I got it off charge, the screen seemed heaps dark. So I went to turn the screen up in 'Light sensor' and it comes up with "Unable to change setting. Power saving mode active."How do I get it off this mode? I've looked everywhere basic and nothing meets the eye.
I recently bought a new Nokia E5 and so far i love it. i have my previous network's SIM card and i want to "find" and save all my freinds' numbers onto my E5.
I have a nokia E63 and I'm struggling to pick up my music.I have formatted my memory card and reset all my factory settings yet I cannot pick up the music
