last week, I went to the beach with my friends and unfortunately, my dear phone was dropped in the water T.T. I tried to take the battery out immediately. 2 days later, I put the battery back, it seems to work well EXCEPT the middle / main button T.T. I tried to hit that button hard but it's not working.

Any suggestions on the above error message? Or do I need to visit an Apple store? This has happened as a result of dropping in water.

the speaker works as long as it isn't turned up to the highest option, then it becomes crackly. The microphone works, but you have to talk softly or be far away for the sound to be unmuffled. Headphones work perfectly. I know Apple doesn't cover water damage, so what can I do to save my phone?

I dropped my Iphone in the sink for about 2 seconds, then took it out and dried it off. It all worked fine but a few minutes later the screen went black. I put it in rice for about 2 and a half days, and the sound and touch works (I can even unlock it and answer the phone), but I see not a thing on the screen. It's plain black. I still have it in the rice, but is there anything i can do to save it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHey folks, a few weeks ago I dropped my Curve in some water. I dried it out in some rice and reloaded all the software. It works now except for one major problem.the trackball will not scroll at all. It won't go up or down or left or right. It will still select.I have a completely new housing and trackball. I tried an old trackball but it didn't work either. I cleaned the new trackball with some alcohol as well as the contacts in the phone but it still won't work.

I have dropped my n97 mini in water. After disassembling it (cause warranty is voided if liquid issue) and drying it the device runs ok except for the microphone, when I receive a call I can only hear, not speak.I took the phone at a nokia care point and they said that the microphone is embedded on the motherboard and can not replace it...How can I make n97 mini`s microphone work?

But after it was returned to me whenever I am opening the camera hazy lines and grains are appearing and the clarity of picture is not like I used to have before. I guess moisture or fungus has caused this in the lens. Is it possible to clear the camera lens if i give it to Nokia care?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone has been acting really strange recently (multiple apps shutting down, long app loading time, extremely bad battery life-- almost 20% decrease with 2 hour use) So I visited apple store today and they told me that all of the symptoms were due to water damage of my phone.
And water damage was least of my suspections. Okay so my phone has been near water, but never in it. I take my phone to the shower sometimes for music and that's the closest my phone got to water. The apple store showed me how the supposed to be white sticker inside the charging jack turned red and they told me that my warranty is now void.
They also told me that I need to pay $200 if I want a replacement and that there is nothing they can do when I told them that this phone has never been in water or suffered water related accidents.
I asked them if there was only one water damage indicator in a iphone. The person told me that there were four, two on the outside and two in the inside. He opened up my phone and told me that only one water damage indicator (external one) but they only need one indicator to turn red to void my warranty.
When I repeatedly told him that I never had my iphone near water he told me that it only takes one drop of water to trigger the indicator and that it could be anything like a raindrop. I think this is absurd.

Don't tell my to get to the apple store and ask them for the a new phone ive done it twice and they won't give a new phone because I don't have the apple care warranty. When I was in Canada, I dropped my iPhone 3GS in a water drain, and it essentially got drenched. After submerging it in rice for seven hours and letting it sit for three weeks, it works absolutely fine - albeit one small problem.
The backlight is completely non-functional. It won't react to anything at all, I've restored, everything.
Now, all that's left is asking you guys for help. HELP! How can I get my backlight to work again? Is it fixable?
My Iphone received water damage and after 2 days of not being used I finally plugged it into my computer and troubleshooted it. It troubleshooted and was working for maybe 15 minutes and then went dead again. since then when I plug it in only the apple icon appears for less then half a minute then its dead again.

so i dropped my iphone 4s flat on the back a few feet from the ground. so worst case should be the back is shattered. the back is shattered the front is flawless but the screen wont work. I tried a soft restart and putting it in dfu mode. nothing worked. I tried hitting it on the back to see if something jusyt got out of place but nope. When i plug my phone into my computer it senses it and syncs it but my phone keeps vibrating like it can only charge for a few seconds. W hat should i do i would rather not take it to apple and pay half the price of the phone to get it fixed. I took the back faceplate off and everything looked fine. The screen is just messed up.

my 3gs iphone took 'the plunge' out of my pocket and into my toilet the other day. i was not happy. i immediately put the phone in some rice in a ziplock bag and waited. and prayed.today i took the phone out of its grain cocoon and was thrilled to see that it still worked. only problem? the home button is completely unresponsive. obviously i think this is a hardware issue, but what's really strange is that every time i restart the iphone (a few times), upon power up my phone goes immediately into voice control as if i pressed and held the home button. figuring there still may need some drying, i put the phone back in the rice for another 12 hours. questions:
1. does this whole voice control aspect put a software spin on this problem?
2. after i give the phone some more time with the rice should i do an update/restore?
3. should the genius bar be my next stop?
4. are there any other solutions out there besides this one: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=615755
I dropped my N85 on the side walk from about 5 feet. Now its not turning ON. Can you please suggest any tricks I can do to try to make it work?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy sensation is a few months old and loud speaker has stopped working. I took it to Vodafone who did factory reset and software upgrade which made no difference.
I contacted HTC and they sent the phone back saying its been water damaged and sent me a picture of red indicator. Now I can confirm that phone has always been its case and never been put in water, there are no signs of water mark etc.
HTC are not listening and I don't have insurance. I have asked customer services to raise it further.
I might be barking up the wrong tree. Is it worth doing anything else, may be contacting Vodafone again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Storm 9530 was dropped and suddenly stopped working. There is no damage to the phone or to the screen. Everything looks perfect. But when I turn it on, red light flashes for few seconds. It flashes for about 15 seconds then goes black. The four buttons on the bottom light up for few seconds.I tried Application Loader Wizard but there were no applications to be downloaded. But when I connect it to Blackberry Desktop Manager, the LCD comes back showing the signal of empty Battery. Replaced the battery but it is still working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!
