Aug 14, 2011My E7 had fell in the water about 3 weeks ago. I dry them with cloth and hair dryer from far. Than I put them in the bucket of rice. It work fine , but the led light keep flashing when I make a call. Now the screen suddenly gone grey. I haven't got it insured. Only got it after it was available in UK on contract. Please help. Can it be repair? If so I will have to send it to o2. I just want to know if it still repairable in that condition.

Nov 30, 2011My sensation is a few months old and loud speaker has stopped working. I took it to Vodafone who did factory reset and software upgrade which made no difference.
I contacted HTC and they sent the phone back saying its been water damaged and sent me a picture of red indicator. Now I can confirm that phone has always been its case and never been put in water, there are no signs of water mark etc.
HTC are not listening and I don't have insurance. I have asked customer services to raise it further.
I might be barking up the wrong tree. Is it worth doing anything else, may be contacting Vodafone again.

IPhone :: Water Damage Indicator Triggered Without It Being In Water?
Jun 13, 2012My phone has been acting really strange recently (multiple apps shutting down, long app loading time, extremely bad battery life-- almost 20% decrease with 2 hour use) So I visited apple store today and they told me that all of the symptoms were due to water damage of my phone.
And water damage was least of my suspections. Okay so my phone has been near water, but never in it. I take my phone to the shower sometimes for music and that's the closest my phone got to water. The apple store showed me how the supposed to be white sticker inside the charging jack turned red and they told me that my warranty is now void.
They also told me that I need to pay $200 if I want a replacement and that there is nothing they can do when I told them that this phone has never been in water or suffered water related accidents.
I asked them if there was only one water damage indicator in a iphone. The person told me that there were four, two on the outside and two in the inside. He opened up my phone and told me that only one water damage indicator (external one) but they only need one indicator to turn red to void my warranty.
When I repeatedly told him that I never had my iphone near water he told me that it only takes one drop of water to trigger the indicator and that it could be anything like a raindrop. I think this is absurd.

Jul 5, 2012Ok do recently my iPhone speakers haven't been working. They work when you call but when you wanna listen to music it doesn't work. I went to apple and the guy told me the water sensor was activated something like that...he didn't tell me what exactly was wrong with my phone, he told me I could buy a new iPhone for $149. I want to know for anybody who has drop there phone in water what was broken was it the audio jack or the speaker system??? Don't tell my to get to the apple store and ask them for the a new phone ive done it twice and they won't give a new phone because I don't have the apple care warranty. I want to know what exactly is broken so I can get it fixed for a better price.

Aug 17, 2010When I was in Canada, I dropped my iPhone 3GS in a water drain, and it essentially got drenched. After submerging it in rice for seven hours and letting it sit for three weeks, it works absolutely fine - albeit one small problem.
The backlight is completely non-functional. It won't react to anything at all, I've restored, everything.
Now, all that's left is asking you guys for help. HELP! How can I get my backlight to work again? Is it fixable?

It troubleshooted and was working for maybe 15 minutes and then went dead again. since then when I plug it in only the apple icon appears for less then half a minute then its dead again.

Jan 18, 2010my 3gs iphone took 'the plunge' out of my pocket and into my toilet the other day. i was not happy. i immediately put the phone in some rice in a ziplock bag and waited. and prayed.today i took the phone out of its grain cocoon and was thrilled to see that it still worked. only problem? the home button is completely unresponsive. obviously i think this is a hardware issue, but what's really strange is that every time i restart the iphone (a few times), upon power up my phone goes immediately into voice control as if i pressed and held the home button. figuring there still may need some drying, i put the phone back in the rice for another 12 hours. questions:
1. does this whole voice control aspect put a software spin on this problem?
2. after i give the phone some more time with the rice should i do an update/restore?
3. should the genius bar be my next stop?

Jun 25, 2012My cousin dropped the phone in front of me while make a phone call. The phone fell on a grass and doens't turn on. I've tried hard reset etc but still doesn't turn on. I then plugged it to the mains and the phone turned on. Its not detecting the battery, service provider, wifi and Bluetooth. Seems like some problem with communication system. When I take the main adaptor off, the phone switchs off. I need my phone bad as all the contacts, phone calls but scared it will take so long to get it replace or serviced.The phone doens't look like its water damaged, something else is wrong with it.

May 20, 2012My iphon4 fell from the height of about 20~30m and hit the back cover against concrete... The battery was bumped out and the back cover cracks... But the screen was actually intact!!!
I had someone familiar with iphone help me change the battery and back cover. It can normally work...!!!! What a miracle. The quality of iphone is really out of my expectation.

Used IPhone 5 Stopped Working
Dec 4, 2014I recently purchased a used iPhone 5 for cheap. I replaced the battery and it worked right away. It took several hours for the phone to charge completely and after I unplugged it, it drained very fast. The phone was still tied to the previous owner's account, so I wondered if it was draining fast because it was searching for something via my wi-fi. I charged it again before I went to bed, but unplugged it so I could charge my iPad overnight. When I woke up the next morning, it was under 20%. I went to work and got a hold of the previous owner to get her to remove the phone from her iCloud account. I called my girlfriend and asked her to plug in the phone so that it was on when she removed it. When I got home from work, the phone wasn't working. The screen didn't light up and there was no sign that it worked at all. I left it plugged in for the next 24 hours and it still didn't work. Holding the home and sleep/wake buttons do nothing. My used iPhone is a metal and glass brick. Found out from the previous owner that these were the exact symptoms she had before it stopped working and the battery needed to be replaced.

Jun 8, 2012It was in a sof case and surrounded by a hard case. The only areas exposed to liquid was the charger and speakers. At first, the display came on and the unit charged sporadically. Now, it will not power on at all. Even when it did power on the screen was VERY dim. About 1 inch fell into the shake (strawberry, for the curious) and I did not rinse it off - just wiped and cleaned with QTip and toothpick. Any help out there? Should I open the phone and try to clean it out? It is over 2 years old and no warranty or contract.

Jul 2, 20103G has stopped working on my launch day iPhone 4. Edge works sometimes. The sim card works fine in my 3GS. Anyone heard of this problem before? Done a full restore with no joy(and another problem, iTunes wiped my iPhone 4 back up when I just choose to call my restore iPhone 'iPhone' to test it out - is my back up lost forever? I'm assuming if I take it back to the Apple store at the weekend, if they have stock, they'll have to give me a brand new replacement? It's just over a week old, so I'd want one in a sealed box!
