Dec 6, 2011I like to hear beeps from the numbers while dialing. How do you enable the beeps? I think I tried the basic menu routes but I will try anything.

Jun 19, 2012Whilst on a call this morning my phone randomly called Orange answer phone and put my original call on hold, I cancelled the answer phone call and went back to original then within the next minute the original call went quiet and I heard the ringing tone and discovered it was randomly calling a number (it was not a saved contact and I had to go through history later to see where it had come from and found it was a call I had received last Saturday - so not even a call in recent history) I have no speed dials set up - I did double check this! When prompted I did the latest upgrade last week to v7.1 bundle 1149(v7.1.0.342 - platform 5.1.0.276) and was pleased was prompted to do this as it included the update to wifi calling which I need in certain areas though I didn't have it enabled today.

Oct 5, 2012My phone has been behaving really oddly recently. It has started dialling random numbers during the night, sometimes my contacts, sometimes just four or five digits, and once to my service operator's helpline. It also did it when it was switched off so I had to start removing the battery at night. Just last week, it wouldn't let me send text messages. I tried the recommendations found on this forum but nothing worked although the sim does work in other phones.
I got in contact with Virgin Mobile and they arranged for me to send them the phone for it to be looked at. Unfortunately, the connection between the USB socket and the phone had been damaged somehow (not sure how as I'm very careful with my phone) so the warranty has been invalidated They say they can't do anything although I have no problem connecting the phone to my computer.

When trying to make an outgoing call, I get a long pause and then three tones like old pay phones and a message saying call failed. I am also unable to receive any calls also. My girlfriend has the same phone and the same issues.We called the service provider (Bell) who asked to try powering down and turn back on and it worked temporarily but the issue persists.I also tried reseting the phone to factory setting and still have the same issues.
BB Bold 9700 :: 3 Beeps For All Sound Alerts
Mar 26, 2010Every 24hrs, i keep getting this same problem on my blackberry 9700 bold (vodafone UK).I only realise it when someone rings me, or sends me a text, etc. - regardless of sound selected for any alert (from incoming call to sms to email etc) it just plays 3 beeps (which is definately an alert sound i recognise, but I can't identify which one it is. But its definitately on the list on the phone)So I try to select my ringtone and click 'Try It', and it says the following:"Invalid ringtone selected; please make another selection."Anyways, the problem goes away for a few hours after doing a battery pull. Then it comes back again.I also have BerryBuzz installed (if this at all makes any difference whatsoever)

For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

BB Bold 9700 :: Voice Dialing Stopped Working
May 2, 2010Voice dialing on my Bold 9700 has worked for a long time. The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)

When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).

Apr 26, 2010I am a new BB user and have asked several people how to speed dial into my office's automated voice mail system to retrieve messages. Previously on standard cell phones, I would dial the phone number, insert "ppp" for pauses while the auto attendant would prompt the next step. There are 3 series of number to get all the way in. Example would be: 800-555-5555ppp555ppp5555ppp5555 and I would be in to retrieve messages.
I have tried a few different options and have be unsuccessful.My carrier is AT&T.BB is a Bold 9700.Does anyone have any suggestions??
