I changed my profile to Phone Calls Only.I have dial from home screen on.but now whenever i press only the number keys at the menu, it makes the key-tone.if i press or start pressing a letter, the keytones go away.I looked in options -> screen/keyboard, and the setting is on off.

For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

I have a Bold 9700 through AT&T.Twice now, I have accidentally pressed the call button on my bluetooth, and afterwards, I am unable to have sounds played through my phone after disconnecting the bluetooth.My alarm will not play in the morning, the phone will not ring/alert, and I am unable to play music.When I try, I get the following message: "Cannot play media while Voice Activated Dialing is active."How do I turn off the VAD? I do not wish to use it in the future, either

Is it possible to dial without having to touch the BB and also the ringtone never plays thru the headset which is strange.

The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was using WM for many years, but now the BB9700 is my choice.I have several contacts from different countries in my phonebook, therefore characters like čřžýá and others are common in my phonebook. When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a new BB user and have asked several people how to speed dial into my office's automated voice mail system to retrieve messages. Previously on standard cell phones, I would dial the phone number, insert "ppp" for pauses while the auto attendant would prompt the next step. There are 3 series of number to get all the way in. Example would be: 800-555-5555ppp555ppp5555ppp5555 and I would be in to retrieve messages.
I have tried a few different options and have be unsuccessful.My carrier is AT&T.BB is a Bold 9700.Does anyone have any suggestions??
I have a Bold 9700 recently bought about 4 days ago... At first all the communication channels works fine i.e. Mobile Network, Wifi and Bluetooth. Suddenly this morning the wifi stop working. I'm unable to switch the wifi on even clicking on it many times. Tried to turn off the device and remove the battery for about a minute and still the problem is not solved.

Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI turned my BB off about 20 hours ago. When I tried to turn it on just now, it would not turn on! I tried removing the battery for a few seconds, and when I put it back in the LED glowed red, but then it turned off, and the deivice still will not turn on.
Can anything be done, short of throwing it in the river? Having acquired a Galaxy Tablet, I'm thinking I need to ditch the BB for an Android-based phone.

The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on.When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.
I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.
Last week I bought a bold 9700 it seemed to be working then as it turned on ok. It was however not used since so the battery died. Sincee yesterday I have been trying to charge it and power it on to no avail all I am getting is the red light flight double flashing continuously.

When i got up it was still doing this but the progress bar gets a quarter of the way then the screen goes blank & it starts again. It has now been about 8 hours & its STILL doing this. It gets 2/3rds of the way along the horizontal loading line then turns off . Red light comes on for a few seconds then the phone tries to start again and the process repeats. Having put the battery back in, the phone now won't turn back on. The red LED is not on at all, the device isn't being recognised through USB, im pretty stuck. Is there anything I can do or should I return it to get a replacement?
Did a restore on my 9700 this morning backing it up with my save from Friday. Turned it back on after the restore, no issues, everything worked fine then about 15 mins later the screen went white and had no funcitonality.
