I got my BB about 2 days ago. It worked fine for about half a day after being fully charged, but whilst using it, the screen froze. The power button wasn't functioning at this point so i removed the battery.
Having put the battery back in, the phone now won't turn back on. The red LED is not on at all, the device isn't being recognised through USB, im pretty stuck. Is there anything I can do or should I return it to get a replacement?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI HAVE A BLACKBERRY PHONE THAT I BOUGHT RECENTLY,I REALIZED THAT WHEN I TURN IT ON IT STAYS ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTES THEN THE BACK LIGHT ON THE PHONE TURN OFF AND THEN THE PHONE DOES NOTHING MORE,ITS LIKE THE PHONE FREEZE UP,I REALIZED THAT I CAN STILL SEE THE MENU OPTION ON THE SCREEN EVEN THOUGHT THE BACKLIGHT IS TURNED OFF.I THOUGHT IT WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE SO I REINSTALLED IT AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS...IM NOT SURE IF ITS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CIRCUIT BOARD ON THE PHONE.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago i bought a new battery for my BB bold 9700 and it has been working fine up intill yesterday, it kept dieing and saying battery drain handheld shutting down. so whenever i plug it into the charger it wont work. i updated it to the latest software, and just now today i used it in school all day, "jus texting, brickbreaker, and music on thw way home---30min" and i went to call my mom and i was on the phone for about 1 min not even and then it completely shuts off, i pull the battery out, put it back in, and its at 4% battery.

So I take my finger off.In the morning when I wake, the phone has been on all night?!Am I doing something wrong? Are u suposed to keep ur finger down until the screen goes blank?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've come to dread restarting my phone (after deleting an app, to free up space). Every time I pull the battery, it's like playing russian roulette with my phone. When it restarts, it goes back to that original wallpaper that my bb bold2 had, and then the trackpad won't work. Even if I click down once to activate the trackpad, nothing moves on my screen. It almost always ends with me having to do a second battery pull, which is really nerve-wracking. It's like there's some sort of SEVERE lag going on. And if it does begin to work after a battery pull, it takes like 6 minutes to begin working.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAround a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
my phone other than recently the battery life has been pretty bad all of a sudden (I think it's my charger) , anyways I was outside taking a picture on my phone and as soon as it took the picture the screen went black and it was completely unresponsive, tried turning it on, reset, nothing worked. I took the battery out and back in and It turned on, BUT then my time and date was completely wrong and for some reason since the time and date was wrong it made my internet not work.

Suddenly this morning the wifi stop working. I'm unable to switch the wifi on even clicking on it many times. Is this a hardware or a software problem? Could there be something I can install to fix it, i.e. like a missing driver?
This is a brand new phone, and out the box, the capacitive buttons are off. When I turned it on, the lights were behaving fine and after using it for quite a few hours, I decided to reset the phone again since I wanted to set it up from scratch.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently had the app error 523, and because I stupidly hadn't backed up on my PC, I lost everything as I had to reload the OS etc. I use things like my calendar etc a lot, so hate the idea that my blackberry could stop working again at any time and I'd lose everything since my last back up.
So is there a way to wirelessly backup through the blackberry's own internet, or is doing it through the desktop manager the only way?
Currently using the Blackberry 9700. Got it a week ago on a 3-year contract. and have had no major issues until today.For the past 12-24 hours, I have been unable to access anything that uses the Blackberry internet service (BBM, MSN, Facebook and Internet Browser included). I went into "Manage Connections", then "Services Status" and discovered this:

I'd assume it isn't supposed to be like that; I've tried restarting the device several times to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
The back up files on my lap top (windows 7) cannot be accessed, the note tells me -
Adobe Reader could not open "Blackberry Bold 9700- (date) .ipd " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and was not correctly decoded)
Why is the file saved to Adobe if it is a unsupportable file?
The synchronisation was done as per proceedure and works in other respects. It is not done by e-mail. Who is hiding my calendar - is it BBry or Microsoft?
BBry back up seems to remove ( I cannot ge them in any other Windows location that I can find) all my previous calendar records and then puts them in a file I cannot open!
This either means I have to go back to using a paper diary and therefore can do without a 9700 or any other BBry product - or I go to an entire MAc set -up.
I have bold 9700 running os6 but I want to get back my 2g only option in mobile network options. I use BB 9700 of H3G UK. In OS5, it has 2g mode, 3g mode and 2g&3g mode but there is no 2g mode in Mobile network option in OS6. I have tried to reinstall OS6 and nothing change.
Is there a better way to do get the 2g only option back?? Don't tell me that I have to downgrade to OS5
Ok so I use the auto on/off feature, and recently i have noticed that after my phone turns off for the night, if there is a event on my calendar where the alarm would go off during the time that the phone is off it will turn itself back on and let the alarm go off. Is this normal, or is something wrong?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my AT&T G4 since last June and it's worked perfectly fine. Suddenly tonight as I was just watching YouTube my phone froze and shut down. I tried taking out the battery and it won't turn back on at all. The LG screen shows up and then it loops a bit before going dark and the power button won't work. Not until I replace the battery again. And the cycle begins anew. Sometimes the white AT&T screen shows, but still nothing. Once I got it to a screen that was optimizing apps I think. But that quickly failed.
I haven't factory reset yet because I do not want to loose my information and I don't know if I even have a back up. I don't know what to do and I can't be without my phone.
I had my phone on a car charger playing Spotify and i got a text message then could not turn on my phone. Spotify played for half the song after and shut down. Black screen with flashing blue light and can not hard reset. tried all combinations with up, power, down, and home keys. The light was flashing all night and turned off this morning. did not have on a charger hoping the battery would die to turn on. Phone never reads a connection when trying to charge. don't know if i have the one black screen of death that can not turn back on. I have 2 or 3 trips of pictures that i don't know if i backed up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my Google Nexus 5 began constantly rebooting for no apparent reason. Most times when the phone rebooted it would not even get past the Goolge logo before rebooting again. Occasionally the phone would go farther at which point it would say that it was optimizing apps. Sometimes it would reboot again right in the middle of this process. I was not connected to WiFi at the time this whole thing began so it should not have been updating in the first place.
On the rare occasions that the phone started up completely I tried running it in Safe Mode, clearing the cache and doing a factory reset in the hopes that the issue is being caused by an app, all to no avail!!!! NOW THE PHONE WON'T EVEN TURN ON!!!!
