I had quite a scare since my phone didn't turn back on after I turned the screen off. So I tried tapping it. Tried pressing and holding power button but nothing till it restarted itself. Since I can access the battery, what can I do if something like this happens again? Considering I still have something's on the phone memory.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAround a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
I have the Torch (9800) OS version: 6.0.0.668.I've had it for just over a year without problems but recently it will freeze to the point where I have to do a battery pull because it won't resolve the issue otherwise. Even then sometimes it doesn't come back on. It will slowly flash red (LED light) and the screen will remain black.It's done this twice where it won't turn back on at all. Eventually it does but the last time it did this, it didn't work for 2 days before coming back on (of it's own accord). I updated the software when it finally came back on as I was told it could be a software issue so I now have the OS version stated at the top of this message as opposed to 6.0.0.600.

View 10 Replies View RelatedRecently updated my iPhone 4 to ios 7.1.2. Currently my worst problem: instead of going into sleep mode, the phone turns off completely. I then cannot turn the phone back on with the sleep/wake button. To turn the phone back on, I need to do a hard reboot each time by holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously. I have tried going into settings/general/reset and selecting "reset all".

my phone other than recently the battery life has been pretty bad all of a sudden (I think it's my charger) , anyways I was outside taking a picture on my phone and as soon as it took the picture the screen went black and it was completely unresponsive, tried turning it on, reset, nothing worked. I took the battery out and back in and It turned on, BUT then my time and date was completely wrong and for some reason since the time and date was wrong it made my internet not work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed Kies 3 twice but still get the same problem. The back up from my Galaxy S5 appears to go well until I look into the folders created on my computer in Kies. It has backed up some things but most folders either have nothing in them or have file types that I can't open on my computer, which I guess are Samsung files. Surely if I have downloaded Kies specifically to back everything on the phone up, the software will have the ability to open these file types?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my BB about 2 days ago. It worked fine for about half a day after being fully charged, but whilst using it, the screen froze. The power button wasn't functioning at this point so i removed the battery.
Having put the battery back in, the phone now won't turn back on. The red LED is not on at all, the device isn't being recognised through USB, im pretty stuck. Is there anything I can do or should I return it to get a replacement?
Contrary to the posts I've seen (buttons do not turn ON), my issue is the inverse (buttons do not turn OFF). My HTC One's Home and Back buttons are always lit, even if I turn off the device.
Is this a hardware or a software problem? Could there be something I can install to fix it, i.e. like a missing driver?
This is a brand new phone, and out the box, the capacitive buttons are off. When I turned it on, the lights were behaving fine and after using it for quite a few hours, I decided to reset the phone again since I wanted to set it up from scratch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a big problem with my Z3. It was working just fine today I had about 50% battery, though I wasn't going to use it anymore. I'd just put it to charge. I thought I might as well give it a reset now and again as well as clear application processing etc. So I turn off my phone and plugged it in.
I have noticed an odd red blinking LED which I've not seen before (whilst charging), so I thought I might as well turn my device on and see if there is anything wrong. It seems my device refuses to turn on.
I've then consulted the internet to find any way I could fix my device. The only way I was going to be able to do anything was via Sony Companion apparently. So I set it all up and let Sony download was was needed to hopefully repair the phone. Followed all the instruction until I came to this.
No matter how long I hold the volume down button and plug the phone in, it just doesn't want to work. There are no vibrations even when trying to force the device. I've also tried to reset the phone via the hardware button located next to the Sim tray and that didn't work either.
So now I've just left it to charge via wall socket the red LED in the top left corner is still blinking as I'm typing this. Seems I'm stuck with a dead phone at the moment.
Last week I wrote regarding my Lumia 1520, not turning off. As a summary, power bottom doesn't work, nor does the reset option. It freezes and glitches constantly, and the only way to turn on the display is by pressing the camera and volume down button, can't turn it off either. I was advised to reset the phone to factory settings, which I did, however problems still persist. I'm wondering this might be a hardware issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my AT&T G4 since last June and it's worked perfectly fine. Suddenly tonight as I was just watching YouTube my phone froze and shut down. I tried taking out the battery and it won't turn back on at all. The LG screen shows up and then it loops a bit before going dark and the power button won't work. Not until I replace the battery again. And the cycle begins anew. Sometimes the white AT&T screen shows, but still nothing. Once I got it to a screen that was optimizing apps I think. But that quickly failed.
I haven't factory reset yet because I do not want to loose my information and I don't know if I even have a back up. I don't know what to do and I can't be without my phone.
I had my phone on a car charger playing Spotify and i got a text message then could not turn on my phone. Spotify played for half the song after and shut down. Black screen with flashing blue light and can not hard reset. tried all combinations with up, power, down, and home keys. The light was flashing all night and turned off this morning. did not have on a charger hoping the battery would die to turn on. Phone never reads a connection when trying to charge. don't know if i have the one black screen of death that can not turn back on. I have 2 or 3 trips of pictures that i don't know if i backed up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my Google Nexus 5 began constantly rebooting for no apparent reason. Most times when the phone rebooted it would not even get past the Goolge logo before rebooting again. Occasionally the phone would go farther at which point it would say that it was optimizing apps. Sometimes it would reboot again right in the middle of this process. I was not connected to WiFi at the time this whole thing began so it should not have been updating in the first place.
On the rare occasions that the phone started up completely I tried running it in Safe Mode, clearing the cache and doing a factory reset in the hopes that the issue is being caused by an app, all to no avail!!!! NOW THE PHONE WON'T EVEN TURN ON!!!!

Sometimes when I'm getting in my car and hit the button to turn on the phone screen, then slide the unlock icon to the right to get to my screen, then try to start an app, I have to fight the phone to stay on over and over and over and over.There is plenty of battery life, so that isn't the issue. Sometimes it goes black immediately after sliding the unlock button right. Sometimes it goes black again when I click on an app on my home screen. Sometimes it goes black again after opening the app. Sometimes it goes black again after I click on something in the app.When this occurs, I can have to go thru hitting the on button and sliding the unclock icon right multiple times, sometimes 2 or 3 times at each of the steps as described above.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently dropped my Nokia Lumia 1520, and the top left of the screen is cracked pretty bad, but usually that doesn't stop a phone from working.. When I dropped it the screen froze for about 5 seconds, then randomly shut off.. This is the only phone I have, and insurance is still $200 to replace, and I wouldn't have that for a couple months. I was wondering if there was a way to somehow power it on?
I believe the battery still works, because sometimes when I try to turn it on, the flash blinks, and it gets hot if I leave it on the charger. It doesn't respond when I plug it into the pc, so I doubt it's the display not working...
I decided to reboot my phone because the battery seemed to be running lower than normal, now there's no display at all and I don't know if it has broken. When it's plugged into the computer it is still recognized, but theres no display.

I get my ringtones from myxer.com and mytinyphone and sites such as that. When I set any of these ringtones i download as my sms alert or phone call ringtone, it just uses the default ringtone. So I checked to see if I saved my ringtone settings. Sure enough I did. So I tried turning my phone off and back on, and my ringtone settings just get reset back to default. When I had my 2 gig microsd in it was doing the same thing, but after a couple days it was using the ringtones I set for it. I just put an 8 gig microsd in and there's no hope.

Why doesnt my s5 turn off when I get a notification or when I check the time On lock screen. This been happening for the past days. I had about 55% of battery and when I got off work it was dead. I then later charged my phone and noticed that when I get a notification on the lock screen it won't turn off right after the notification showed. when I turn on the phone to check the time on the lock screen it doesn't turn off. it would usually turn off seconds later. This has been draining my battery. if I have a full battery at night and disconnect it and throughout the night I get a text message the lock screen would turn on and never turn off,and then in the morning I'm left with a dead phone or a 3% left, or when I disconnect the phone it doesn't turn of neither. How do I set it back to how it was. I already factory reset?
