Nokia :: N95 Screen Is Very Dull On Main Menu - How To Turn Back Light On
Jul 28, 2010I have a N95 that has a weird screen issue. I've spent just over a week looking for an answer, searching Google and forums.The screen is very dull on the main menu, to the extent that to see any data on it you need to be in a very dark room. The screen saver however is just as bright as it has always been, brighter in fact.
I've turned the screen brightness up to full but this made no difference. It is almost as if the back light has been turned off.Does anyone know how to turn the back light on or even any resolution of this so I can use the phone during the day.
BB Bold 9700 :: Device Set Back Light Goes Off After 20 Seconds
Jul 6, 2010I've had my AT&T Blackberry Bold 9700 since November of 2009 and am just experiencing this problem. My device is set so the back light goes off after 20 seconds. Whenever I put it down or lock it, the back light goes off just as it should. But, within 5-10 minutes, it turns back on without provocation and won't shut off again until I unlock and re-lock the phone.
As you can imagine, this is killing my battery life. I've tried playing with the settings, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've rebooted several times and removed the battery twice, but neither has worked. Anyone encounter this issue and/or have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Aug 6, 2012I HAVE A BLACKBERRY PHONE THAT I BOUGHT RECENTLY,I REALIZED THAT WHEN I TURN IT ON IT STAYS ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTES THEN THE BACK LIGHT ON THE PHONE TURN OFF AND THEN THE PHONE DOES NOTHING MORE,ITS LIKE THE PHONE FREEZE UP,I REALIZED THAT I CAN STILL SEE THE MENU OPTION ON THE SCREEN EVEN THOUGHT THE BACKLIGHT IS TURNED OFF.I THOUGHT IT WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE SO I REINSTALLED IT AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS...IM NOT SURE IF ITS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CIRCUIT BOARD ON THE PHONE.

Jan 1, 2010I got my BB about 2 days ago. It worked fine for about half a day after being fully charged, but whilst using it, the screen froze. The power button wasn't functioning at this point so i removed the battery.
Having put the battery back in, the phone now won't turn back on. The red LED is not on at all, the device isn't being recognised through USB, im pretty stuck. Is there anything I can do or should I return it to get a replacement?

Jan 20, 2010So I bought my AT&T Bold 9700 last month when it first came out, and have had no troubles with it so far. I've tried searching for a thread like this but haven't found any.My 9700 just randomly "rebooted" this morning, where the screen goes black and the red led light turns on for a couple of seconds. This has happened to me before on my old 9000, where after it would then start up again. Nearing the time when I replaced it, it would do it quite frequently (and to think it just started getting really bad AFTER the 1 year warranty on it expired!). So back to the 9700, the progress bar that comes up when you're starting up the device would then come up, and sometimes load for about half an inch, sometimes only up to an eighth, before the whole thing would start again - the screen would turn black, the red led turns on, and the progress bar would come up again.I pulling the battery out for a few minutes and putting it back in but its still doing it. I then pulled it out for about an hour and its still doing it again.

Jan 6, 2010I recently upgraded to a bold through Orange (UK Network Provider), phone has been great so far, I have had it for a week. However, I made a call and came back to my phone to find a blank screen and the red light flashing/staying constant intermittently. The phone does not turn on, I have tried taking battery out, sim out, memory card out, attaching it to my computer (which it does not recognize as it needs to be on) charging it etc. I have tried that alt, cap and del reset mechanism too.
Orange told me I will have to send it off this week, but does anyone know any quick fix to turn it on? I have all my contacts on there, stupidly I did not back it up.

Aug 27, 2014Recently I got a broken Iphone 4S from a friend and he told me he dropped it, so it doesn't show anything at all. I thought it was a LCD problem so i bought a new lcd screen from amazon and well it some-what works. I hear siri and it vibrates a couple of times (vibrates when i plug it to a charger) but the screen is off , nothing no light or anything, also the light in the back is always on (it did that before). My question is whats the issue now? and is it still fixable? Also i can't connect it to itunes because of password and i don't know how to unlock the phone through the computer.In addition, I already tried holding the home and power button for 10-20 seconds, even holding just the power button...

Apr 4, 2010So i came off my phone 1am & everything was cool, during the night i noticed it seemed to be booting up as if it had been battery pulled. When i got up it was still doing this but the progress bar gets a quarter of the way then the screen goes blank & it starts again. It has now been about 8 hours & its STILL doing this. Whats going on & how can i get my phone working again?

Jul 28, 2012had my phone for a while and it usually did the white screen thing where I used to have to take out the battery and insert again, but recently it was working fine then all of a sudden the screen went dim. Even on the highest brightness the screen can go it was still dim, sometimes it would brighten up again but it eventually got dimmer and then did the white screen thing and turned off. Now whenever I turn it on (re-insert the battery etc) I get a fixed red light, then a few seconds later this goes and the keyboard lights up. Then nothing.I've searched for any resolutions but so far found none, I've even tried leaving the battery out for a while and then putting it back in and updating the software but this hasn't been usefull

May 29, 2010I purchased my N97 about a year ago and I absolutely adore it. I haven't run into any problems until last week. When I turn on my phone, enter the unlock code and use it to do whatever I need to do, it works fine. However, if I lock the phone or let the backlight shut off, it won't turn back on and neither do the lights on the number keys. Here is the funny part: If I press the power key (as if I were to change my profile) the backlight turns on, allowing me to see the screen, but the number keys don't light up! Does anyone know what I can do?
I'm not very tech savvy (so please don't laugh if my solutions are completely wrong), but here are some of the things I have done to try and rectify the problem:
- Let the battery drain completely and charged it in the hopes that it would rectify itself like it has in the past with other issues
- Took out the battery, SIM card and memory card just to make sure everything was inserted properly
- Restored the phone to factory settings

BB Bold :: 9650 No Keyboard Back-light?
Sep 1, 2011Recently noticed that my keyboard backlight is out. I am driving myself crazy wondering if I ever had keyboard backlighting. Verizon Wireless support had no answers, but suggested that we hardset the Bold again. If that doesn't work, then they will replace with a "like new" phone. Is there keyboard backlighting on this model? If so, any suggestions to fix? Lastly, anyone had any luck with challenging the "like new" exchange policy for a phone just 4 months old.?

Aug 14, 2010I just got my new Captivate and it is a very nice phone. I have one issue with it and wanted to know if it is normal or do I have a defective phone. No matter where i am and what type of light I am in (i.e sunlight,darkness etc) the back light for the 4 buttons below the screen (Home, Menu,Search and back) turns off after about 2-3 seconds which is very quickly. It comes back on if I touch the buttons or if I touch the screen. I see a backlight timer for the screen but not for the touch sensitive buttons. Is it normal that the backlight for the buttons goes out in 2-3 seconds? Of do I have a defect?
