My BB 9900 seems to be dialing a number unintentionally - I have even removed the number from my address book, call history etc - it still seems to find the number and dial it.
View 3 RepliesI was using WM for many years, but now the BB9700 is my choice.I have several contacts from different countries in my phonebook, therefore characters like čřžýá and others are common in my phonebook. When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving enterred in to the third week of my life with an x10 (Android 2.1) the frustration level is still high, and one thing that is really annoying is the way you pick up a number to dial from your phonebook. When I open up the default Phonebook on the x10 and selct a contact, Mr AAAAA, I am presented with 7 fields with mr AAAAA's numbers: his Home, Work, Mobile, Home Fax, Work Fax, Pager and Main. I do only have one telphone number of mr AAAAA and that is his mobile number that is correctly stored in that field; that means that the other six numberfields are empty. So far, so god.
Since all 7 fields are listed as a selectable option each item in the list become quite thin, approximately 0.5 cm high, and since most grownups on this planet has fingers that are wider than 0.5 cm it requires some precsion to select the right field. This is my problem, when I try to select Mr AAAA's mobile number, the x10 often selects the number besides (below or above) although that field is empty! The x10 then tries to set up a call to a blank number and obviously the call fails (and I am back to the initial screen again).Surely this must be a bug, why is an empty field selectable at all? One can even wonder why it is at all presented in the list of numbers since it is empty; I could understand if the field is selectable if I had pressed the "edit" key but that is not the case. The correct way would be to present all 7 filed although only the fileds contain a number should be selectable and the other dimmed, this standard hotlink concept. I consider this as a bug and wonder if I am the only one with this problem and if someone has found a solution to this problem. More important, is this a bug recognized by Sone Ericsson and is there a solution in the pipeline?
I have a 9700 with the tmobile network, and sometimes even though i have full 3g coverage my phone, will tell me that my call failed..I will dial a number then experiance a long silence period and then i message will come up on my phone with "call failed". I am running the .442 operating system on my phone. any tricks or tips on how to solve this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUnless I'm missing something, a comma no longer functions as a pause in the dialing system for a saved contact since the update. It used to be handy for dialing extension numbers, authorization codes etc. but they seem to be ignored after the update. There is also no apparent way to edit a phone number with any character other than the ones on the dialpad.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?

But ever-since I delayed my payment on my postpaid plan and my outgoing calls/sms got blocked by my provider my phone number wouldn't show up anymore. Now that I've paid up and have outgoing service again it's still not showing on my phone book.

My phone will auto answer private numbers without ringing at the exact moment the call come in. Went through the settings and there is nothing wrong. Auto answer is deactivated in call options.

But the display of numbers I'm dialing is so tiny I didn't see them - had to hand to my son in frustration because I didn't think it was dialing at all. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9700, software version=6.0 Bundle 2921.I recently downloaded the latest OS update (6 I'm assuming) the day it was released. I went to add a new contact to my phone book yesterday for the first time after I downloaded the update and it does nothing when I click it. I've tried right clicking and adding a new contact, just clicking on the new contact in the phone book. And nothing, if I click it enough it freezes my phone, and when I restart it throws me an exception about the phone book.I've taken out my battery/sim card and still doesn't work. Has to be a bug in the code since its throwing an exception.

There's no auto phone book function in 9700? For example, I saved a contact 12345678. Hence, from the main screen when I pressed 123, the contact I had saved earlier didn't show up. Is that a common problem of 9700?
