I just received a replacement Tour 9630. When I activated phone and set up BES it somehow deactivated my number keys for dialing a phone number. Now unless I place a call from my Contacts list I can't dial a number.
View 1 RepliesI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?

But the display of numbers I'm dialing is so tiny I didn't see them - had to hand to my son in frustration because I didn't think it was dialing at all. He pointed out the teeny-tiny numbers being displayed below the search field. Is there a way to increase the size of the numbers being dialed? Or change default back to dialing instead of search?

I read the threads suggested for my subject entry, and some people seem to have great luck, while others don't. I've tried the voice adaption in a silent room, I've tried turning off prompts, etc... It remains literally TOTALLY useless.
"Call Pete" results in "Please try again". I try again, and I get, "Sorry, command not recognized."
"Call Home" yields "Did you say, Call ATT Customer Service?" What?
Thinking maybe I have a bad mic element in the phone, I tried my BT headset. With that, "Call Pete" results in "Calling Ford Dealer Work 1" and then to add insult to injury, "she" says, "Next time, just say "call Ford dealer work 1".
I really used the heck out of voice dialing on my previous phones, and find it hard to believe that a much newer phone won't work at all. I hate regressing with technology.
I'm still in my 30-days "satisfaction guarantee" and I may just have to try something else. I can't believe this function is so totally useless.

My BB 9900 seems to be dialing a number unintentionally - I have even removed the number from my address book, call history etc - it still seems to find the number and dial it.

I know i can turn this off to not show it but i want to change it. It can't be changed through general options. Im guessing its stored in the device with the last owners SPRINT CDMA settings. On a verizon i can do ##000000 but it doesn't work on sprint. Wipe security didn't erase it , Will JL_CMDER delete that??

I work on AC's so it can be a little loud.Prob is that when I open up the phone function and start dialing a number, the keypad volume is at, like, the speakerphone volumeAnd ridiculously loud. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?

I only discovered this after getting a text from Orange thanking me for using Orange Data and giving me my data number (an old fashioned mobile phone number for dial up data)...... When I phoned Orange, they didn't see anything particularly untoward but they did notice an occasional call to a number that doesn't appear in my phone's history.
It is 8009011001. The call length is always zero with a call cost of 0.085 pence. Is anyone here familiar with this number? I've Googled it and found nothing.
I think I might have picked up a bit of a rogue app but I haven't exactly downloaded anything dodgy looking from the App Store (the Apps I use the most are Tweetie, Facebook, The Guardian, The Telegraph and occasionally, a checkers game I downloaded.
The voice dialing feature on my phone has stopped working with my bluetooth earpiece and the speakerphone button on the left side of the phone. When I select voice dialing, whether from the phone itself or bluetooth, the program loads my Contact List to 100% and then stops working.

The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)

When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got this phone last week and am quite happy with it. However, I am now having an issue. I updated the sofware through the Nokia updating system through Ovi Suite and now all of a sudden my 1-touch dialing doesn't work properly. I had #2 setup with a name and photograph, but it got wiped during the update. Now I can't assign any names/numbers to any of the 1-touch spots, it just acts like it does. I double-press the number, it takes me to the contacts list, I press the name I want, then hit Select at the bottom of the screen, then it takes me back to the 1-touch screen but doesn't assign the contact to that number. The same thing when I go to Options>Assign, hit the name, Select. Nothing. Has any body else had this problem? If so how is it solved? I couldn't find any mention of it in these message boards. I do use this feature quite often so I'd like to get it fixed.

I have a strange issue with voice dialing on my 9550. When I use my Rocketfish bluetooth headset it works fabulously, almost always gets the correct name, but when I use the handset it's almost always wrong.This has been the case since day 1 on my S2 regardless of the OS I've been on and I've tried all the officials and several hybrids. I'm now on the official 713.

Everything worked perfectly for a while - music, calling etc. but just recently if I try to use voice dialing, if I hold down the control key on the earpiece to initiate voice dialing it gives some slow beeps, disconnects and loses its pairing connection to the phone. Now I have to go back - delete the headset and re-pair them again!

I can receive phone calls but I can't make any calls. When I used ##000000 I get an invalid password! I changed the sim number through options but the number on the call screen is still not my number.Its a verizon phone but I got it unlocked and I can receive calls use bbm,use the net.....everything except making call. I am in south africa using Vodacom as my carrier.Would a system wipe solve this problem? What would a system wipe do? If I do a system wipe would I have to re-install the OS? How would I re-install the OS? Would the phone be locked again if I do a system wipe?

I just switched from Verizon over to Sprint to save some money and had my old number ported over. Everything is working fine, but the number still shows up as the temporary one sent to me in the phone menu.

Recently when I try to call my voicemail it calls my home telephone number. The speed dial "w" key indicates my cell phone number, but when I try to call it, it calls my home number. Also, if I manually dial in my cell phone number and hit send, it still calls my home telephone number.
