I only discovered this after getting a text from Orange thanking me for using Orange Data and giving me my data number (an old fashioned mobile phone number for dial up data)...... When I phoned Orange, they didn't see anything particularly untoward but they did notice an occasional call to a number that doesn't appear in my phone's history.
It is 8009011001. The call length is always zero with a call cost of 0.085 pence. Is anyone here familiar with this number? I've Googled it and found nothing.
I think I might have picked up a bit of a rogue app but I haven't exactly downloaded anything dodgy looking from the App Store (the Apps I use the most are Tweetie, Facebook, The Guardian, The Telegraph and occasionally, a checkers game I downloaded.
I've got several friends in Japan with iPhone 4s and I was wondering if I can do some FaceTime with them. I know it uses WiFi but will dialing a foreign number bring extra charges? Thanks!
I sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?
I'm one of those currently trying to track down the source of the too-fast battery drain on my new iPhone 6+ with iOS 8.1.1. To that end I've been taking a very close look at things and just downloaded Battery Doctor to get a list of running processes currently using the battery. I was very surprised (and alarmed) to see a string of Chinese characters listed as a process name, as I've never downloaded any apps with names in Chinese script.
Google Translate says the process is "Baidu News." Since I've never installed any Baidu app and can't read Chinese, how this is running or why, or how to shut it down. Is this part of iOS 8?
I just received a replacement Tour 9630. When I activated phone and set up BES it somehow deactivated my number keys for dialing a phone number. Now unless I place a call from my Contacts list I can't dial a number.
Is there a way to input an extension number into a phone number in your contacts list? For example, in an old Nokia, I would have a number saved like 123-456-7890w4587..the "w" was a wait command. The number would dial and the screen displayed "press send to send 4587" (being the extension)Is there a way or command in the HTC Magic from Rogers to do this?
i have people with names like Jānis . The problem is, when i dial a number, if i push corresponding buttons for J-a-n , it won't find it, because ā is not a. Is it possible to make it ignore the difference between a and ā ?
I just got a Curve 9330 and wanted to know if anyone knows how to increase the size of the numbers when you are dialing out. They appear so small. Adjusting the font on the phone doesnt affect them at all.
With recent software upgrade/update, when I start to dial a number it defaults to searching Contacts, which is fine. But the display of numbers I'm dialing is so tiny I didn't see them - had to hand to my son in frustration because I didn't think it was dialing at all. He pointed out the teeny-tiny numbers being displayed below the search field. Is there a way to increase the size of the numbers being dialed? Or change default back to dialing instead of search?
My BB 9900 seems to be dialing a number unintentionally - I have even removed the number from my address book, call history etc - it still seems to find the number and dial it.
I have a 9700 with the tmobile network, and sometimes even though i have full 3g coverage my phone, will tell me that my call failed..I will dial a number then experiance a long silence period and then i message will come up on my phone with "call failed". I am running the .442 operating system on my phone. any tricks or tips on how to solve this?
I have ringer volume on 25. I work on AC's so it can be a little loud.Prob is that when I open up the phone function and start dialing a number, the keypad volume is at, like, the speakerphone volumeAnd ridiculously loud. Is this a glitch or normal? My keyboard button tap sounds are fine as far as volume, but the phone number key tone is just obnoxiously loud.
New user here. I am on my second Verizon Storm2 (in one month) with same issue. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?
I'm receiving a constant mystery alert tone from my Razr HD. I just purchased it a few days ago and I can't for the life of me figure out where the alert is coming from. When it goes off, it yields no information of its origin. Noting in the notification bar to indicate the source. The name of the alert is "burst" I use the "droid" alert tone, so I don't know why the "burst" tone is going off. I've shut off just about every notification I can find. I thought it was from my google voice app, but I still receive the alert even after I unistalled it.Some of the apps I use are Ebay, Yahoo, etsy fan, craiglist, I did install that Modern Combat game, viggle, netflix, PDA net, facebook, direct TV, angry birds starwars and thats about all I've installed so far..
My Galaxy S5 (T-Mobile) has "invisible/mystery" files that are using up almost 2 GB of my phone's storage capacity. According to the "details" from the 1 main folder - it has 2 GB of memory used within it. BUT, according to the "details" for the 2 inside folders - the ones contained WITHIN the main folder - the memory used ACTUALLY adds up to LESS THAN 1 MB, between the 2 of them! And, the "details" for EACH of the 2 inside folders, separately, also CONFIRMS the 1 MB TOTAL. How do I delete these "invisible" files? They're not only wasting a huge chunk of my phone's storage capacity, but they're also causing my phone to run slower and not operate properly - since it's nearing its internal storage capacity limit.
After transferring a number from a previous carrier to a new carrier, I can no longer receive iMessages from my telephone number. People can only iMessage me if they know my Apple ID. I've tried restoring the phone, but I'm always faced with 'error' in the iMessage settings window.
I have only one cell number that will show up in my text messaging with just the number not the name. I have deleted it and reentered it. It has a + in front of the number.
I'm bringing my new phone in today for the same problem I had with my last one. The camera is much better than my last one but it's doing the same thing when I'm talking to someone. Yesterday I was talking to a buddy and all of the sudden he was on speaker phone and a Facetime call was started. When I hung up I noticed that the keyboard had pressed the 5 button several times too.My question is there a fix for this? Is it hardware or software? I've read both here and the fact that apple gave me a new phone last time I'm thinking it's hardware.
when dialling my service provider number which is 808 the phone automatically inserts the first two digits between brackets i.e. (80)8 which then becomes an invalid number. is there an option to set the dialing format?
I need an alternative to iSmartDialer. Purchased this software for my 3GS same time ago and ended up having to purchase a second copy so it would work on my fiances phone too. At one point I restored and couldn't find the code and iSmartDialer customer service gave me hell retrieving my key. Now we both have iPhone 4's and the application is telling me 1 code to 1 device without a transfer option. Going to their website, it actually says NO transfers. Kind of funny considering back when we purchased it didn't say anything about no transfers nor did rockyourphone.com.
So at this point, I am not paying another cent to this dirty company and advise others not to either unless you like to buy the application everytime you get a new device. With that said, I am looking for a simple dialing application that will allow me to save contacts to the number pad. So, when you hold #1 for example it calls whoever you have assigned to that key. Anyone know of an application like that?
