Out of the blue, my phone has started adding +31 before all calls that I make using my contacts list.I'll select a contact that shows the number as "789-789-7890" and when it dials, it will show "+317897897890." There will then be a prompt that says the number can't be reached and I should dial again. This makes the entire contact list function worthless as I have to manually enter numbers in order to call them. All contacts seem to be affected.
when dialling my service provider number which is 808 the phone automatically inserts the first two digits between brackets i.e. (80)8 which then becomes an invalid number. is there an option to set the dialing format?
since the service outage in September/october of 2011. my blackberry has been pocket dialing the same number eventhough I have deleted it from the call registery and contact listing. Also, I have received txt messages that are at least 2years old. How do I make it stop? I have removed the battery, entered the password 10 imes to get it to wipe the memory. none of this has worked. I want to know how does a blackberry take a number and move it to the speed dial registery without me knowing it? When you delete a number from your contacts, why does it not delete the number from speed dial as well? Finally, why doesn't RIM have a 1-800 umber that a person can call, instead of getting the run around. these questions are not for a service provider, they are for the equipment designer.
How do you turn off the voice dialing? It keeps popping in when I am listening to an audio book with the headphones on, and I am unable to turn it off. It can also come in when I am listening to the radio. It is a real pain in the neck.
Sometimes companies will advertise a toll free number with letters. I am having a problem dialing these numbers on my BB since I cnat spell out the letters on the phone. So how would I dial the numbers? For example 1-888-22-peace.
My Blackberry Curve 8330 is having a problem with the voice dialing spontaneously turning on. Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).
I have looked everywhere I can tink of but can't find anywhere that shows how to set up and use voice dialing. Can someone point me in the right direction please.
I just got a Curve 9330 and wanted to know if anyone knows how to increase the size of the numbers when you are dialing out. They appear so small. Adjusting the font on the phone doesnt affect them at all.
With recent software upgrade/update, when I start to dial a number it defaults to searching Contacts, which is fine. But the display of numbers I'm dialing is so tiny I didn't see them - had to hand to my son in frustration because I didn't think it was dialing at all. He pointed out the teeny-tiny numbers being displayed below the search field. Is there a way to increase the size of the numbers being dialed? Or change default back to dialing instead of search?
The voice dialing feature on my phone has stopped working with my bluetooth earpiece and the speakerphone button on the left side of the phone. When I select voice dialing, whether from the phone itself or bluetooth, the program loads my Contact List to 100% and then stops working.
make it stop . . . this program that I never use keeps hijacking my phone for 20-30 minutes at a time, can't hear callers, they can't hear me, disconnects my calls and switches to "voice dialing" . . . is there any solution other than getting a new phone . . . why is this happening? I see people on other forums having the same problem but I don't see any response from blackberry.
I m from Brazil and I have just changed my device from the 8300 series to the 8500 series. All the contacts in my outlook have the phone numbers in the following format + (country code) - (area code) - xxxx-xxxx. I cannot dial in my new device because I have not been able to set up the dialing mode to automatically recognize this dialing format. Where can I do it? I used to have it in my 8300 series device, but I forgot how to do it.
My Verizon Curve, 8330, has been going into a loop for the past two weeks with "Voice Dialing Initializing" showing up randomly. When I get out of it, it will soon pop up again. When this starts to happen, any outgoing calls I try to make will be instantly disconnected. The problem starts, sometimes, after receiveing a call--I can't hear the other party and then they can't hear me.When I hang up, the loop starts.I do have bluetooth on to automatically hook into my car when I am driving.I tried to fix the problem by upgrading the operating system from 4.5.77 to 4.5.175, but the problem is persisting. The button on the side is not set to activate voice dialing (I switched it shortly after I got the phone 18 months ago). Any suggestions would be appreciated--I do not want to have to remove VOD but if there is no other solution will have to. There is a discussion under the Pearl for this problem, but I do not see it discussed in the Curve area.
I have a curve 8330 and the voice activated dialing initializes on its own and loops in 3 second intervals until i do a battery pull. While the VAD is looping I am unable to make or recieve calls, it either disconnects me or mutes the phone and i am unable to unmute it. I removed the VAD all together using a program called MAXMEM, but the phone is still malfunctioning. now when i try to make an outgoing call it attempts to connect me for about 3 seconds then disconnects me. When trying to answer incoming calls it mutes the phone. I cant hear anything and the person calling me cant either. I went into settings and did a factory restore but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to completely un-install the OS/software and re-install it? Im hoping that that will fix it. i have tried doing it via the BB website but was unable to.
I'm recently experiencing this voice dialing pop ups every time I listen to my music and I've tried to turn in off in my setting but still no success, is the a way to delete this feature on my phone. Am using a 9300 curve.
I'd like to add some memory to my phone but I see conflicting information as to what type to get. Can someone PLEASE suggest the proper type and size for my Curve 8310?
I'm not sure when it started, I'll guess shortly after a small wetness issue, but I have not been able to add contacts to my blackberry for almost maybe 3-4 months now. Anytime i click on new contact my phone freezes n I have to restart it.how to solve this problem I dont want to do a full reset if i don't have to.
I cannot add or edit my contacts inmy 8520, the message says: uncaught exeption net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(286) process terminated. Some of my friends says its the OS needed to be upgraded. resolve the message - uncaught exeption net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(286) process terminated
What would be the best way to add a large number of contacts to my curve? I need to add about 50-80 contacts and put them in a group as well. Would outlook still be the best way?

I want to add an existing MS Outlook email account to my Blackberry. I already have 2 gmail accounts on my phone. When I add the new account it comes up as a POP3 account. I don't think that will work. How do I change it to an Outlook Express account. The email address is xxx@yyyy.com The email server is ttt.ddd.com Since there's nothing to identify it as an Outlook account is that part (or all) of the problem?
I have a Curve 3g and when I set the alert tone for message alerts for a contact it still plays the default tone.If I goto contact info it shows that is has the tone that I had set for it.I have tried rebooting, deleting contact and re adding them with the tones. When I deleted and readded it worked ok for a brief moment but then reverted back to using the default. It uses the proper ringtone. Its just the message tone I am having a problem with.
i have a two year old curve 8520. Suddenly i am facing a problem. i am not able to add any new contact or edit existing contact. I have restarted my phone number of times but the problem still persists.
I just got back home from a trip to dubai in dubai my email was working fine. Now I put in my German sim card and wanted to add my email address again and it keeps saying device encountered a problem with this application's server. I have a Curve 8520.
I used to have my work e-mail address (not an enterprise account) linked to my blackberry. I have no idea how it happened. When I tried to set it up it asked for a password and I didn't have one for it. I closed the e-mail set-up thinking it had not worked. However, despite the blackberry saying it could not set-up the account, lo and behold a few minutes later I got the e-mail account activation message and everything was working. This was before I downloaded the new OS.Fast forward to today: the e-mail account accidentally was deleted. Now when I try to set it up I get more or less the same messages but it does not work magically as it did before. I have contacted our IT administrator to ask if there is ac password for my specific e-mail. We use Microsoft Exchange Server. He told me there are no other passwords than the one I use to access my e-mail through the internet. However, I have tried that password and it does not work.
