Is it possible to use the torch 9800 as an analogue modem connected to my laptop and connect to another analogue modem over the normal PSTN telephone lines?I know I can connect to the internet but in this particular case I do require the internet only the connection to the other analogue modem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was configuring bluetooth connection between my laptop and Torch 9800 and windows automatically configured my Torch as bluetooth modem and now I can use my Torch as a modem over bluetooth for internet access. This is a welcomed surprise as I was contemplating whether or not to spend 20 plus dollars to buy the tethered application but apparently there is this free option. This is probably not new to BB experts but I was so happy about this "new discovery" that I thought of sharing.

It works perfectly with my Bold 9700 and it used to work with the Torch as well.All of a sudden it started not to charge the Torch (wall charger). You plug it in and there is no response from the phone whatsoever.But, if you plug it to your PC/Laptop it charges through the USB power.Another thing we noticed is that it no longer gives you any options like "usb drive" "sync media" or "charge only". Also, it is a bit wiggly on the phone side (fitting of the microUSB plug). It wasn't as wiggly before the problems, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious physical damage or any reason for a damage (as much as we know).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently added my company email on Blackberry Torch 9800. Whenever I get any mail on my BB and I read it, while Outlook is not open on my laptop, the mail is not delivered on my laptop at all. I have already ticked the "leave a copy of messages on Server" in accounts settings.
Further, I receive mails on my BB in bunches after a gap varying from 20 mins to 1 hour after the sender has sent the mail to me. I receive from 4 - 10 mails at one single time, but not as and when they are posted. After facing these problems, I upgraded the OS to 6.0.0 bundle 2647, however the behavior has not changed.
I haven't seen anything on thins about the Torch so here goes.I work for a law firm where the attorneys are allowed to purchase their own smartphone, as long as it is a Black Berry or an iPhone (3GS or higher). A few of the main partners rushed out to get the Torch yesterday and the bright people at AT&T restored their old device's data to the Torch.
My problem is while I'm in the process of attempting to back up one of the new Torch devices so I can save the 800 photos that were transferred from an iPhone, the PC doesn't see the Torch. It charges over USB, but the latest DM does not see it at all. Windows does not pop up the found new hardware balloon. Has anyone had this experience so far? I've tried two different Torch devices and on 3 different PCs.
i was charging it on my laptop and all of a sudden couldn't turn on, i dont know if the charge finished...i tried a bunch of basic stuff, lock button power off power on, or whatever but nothing works...im also not getting a red blinking light that certain people got after searching on Google?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having severe problems with my bb torch 9800, it wont stay connected to the wireless network for any length of time before I have to register it again, this is happening daily now realised it was doing this when i try and send information over my wifi and it would connect to it but would not send any data, and comes up with a message stating I am not connected to the wireless network. As said before the way I could get it to work temporary is by going to, options, device, advanced system settings, host routing table, and the pressing the bb key and selecting register now. I can access wikipedia, and my ISPs website as an example.Originally I thought it was because it was only able to access australian servers, but this isn't the case. My browser just seems unable to get a connection to certain sites/servers ever - it times out when i try to view google - but only when my phone is the link to the internet.On the phone, I can access every site/server that I want. But not on my laptop via the phone. When I'm on another internet connection (home or work etc), I have no issues connecting to those sites/servers from my laptop.Browsing google over other connections has not helped me find a solution yet. The connection to the net is stable - it doesn't drop out and can remain connected indefinitely.I'm running:

The results have been the same on earlier versions of the phone and ovi software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that all that stuff means much to me but I thought it may tell somebody something. Whenever I instigate a connection I get error 777 that the modem is out of order and the phone does nothing. I need to be able to make dialup modem to modem connections via my phone for communicating with machinery using the machinery makers software. I have been able to do this over IR or Bluetooth with all my previous Nokia phones.

I've been using e71 since 1,5 year, yesterday I upgraded to e72.with e 71 I didn't have any problem connecting to my Toshiba laptop still I can connect easily to my laptop. If I plug it into the wall it charges so I know the phone is not broken. I have tried holding down the power button, power ad volume down, power and volume up, power and camera....If I plug it in while still alive and choose the USB function as "charge only" it will charge, but no other time. Does it always have to be "charge only"? I cannot charge and look at files at the same time?
