May 26, 2012It only started happening 2 days ago. When I plug my iPhone 4 in to charge, either through the wall or plug the USB into the laptop, I'll get the same message, " Charging is not supported with this accessory". and it'll stop charging. I don't understand why. It'll work eventually but I have to pull it out and in a few times and not touch the phone until it's fully charged otherwise it'll stop charging and that message will pop up again.
I put my phone on charge last night and went to sleep. Woke up this morning and my phone was off! Dead! It didn't charge because this happened to it. I don't get what it is. Could it be I need a new charger? Because to be honest, the part that slides into the plug is bent a little and has rust and dirt inside it but I can't clean it because I can't get inside it. And the lead where the part is where you plug into the phone is a bit messed up but I haven't had a problem with it since 2 days ago.

Jun 2, 2014It has been happening for a while but lately it is unbearable. I charge my iPhone on my laptop so all my data backs up and its more practical for me as I use the laptop whilst it charges. Lately it connects and disconnects immediately ! It has this "fit" of connecting and disconnecting my phone just goes mad! Works fine when plugged in a wall socket. iTunes is up to date, iOS up to date,it is the only USB plugged it in my laptop and my laptop is a new laptop ! I have tried switching my phone on and off but it does nothing...

However the connecting does not keep, especially if i try to move items from one folder to another, it simply disconnects and doesnt reconnect unless I do it manually.
This is preventing me from doing anything that MTP has to offer so it is actually a pretty useless application for me.

Nov 26, 2011Since my PHOTON wouldn't charge when I plugged it into my HP (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit) with the cable that came with it, I've installed the Motorola USB Drivers on my HP laptop and selected "Charge Only" as the USB connection option. The PHOTON still does not charge. When I connect to a different laptop, it does charge without downloading any drivers.
I think the problem is the PHOTON requires more than 500mA, but the HP laptop is not letting more power to the USB ports. I've tried all 3 USB ports with no success.

Mar 23, 2015Recently spent a long time outdoors in the rain, but phone was never wet. Got home and when I tried to charge it, it wouldn't work. Then when I finally got it to charge (left it overnight) it had only charged to 50% and would stop immediately after reaching 50%. Now the "USB connector connected" notification randomly shows up, even when the phone is not connected to anything. Several seconds later it says it's disconnected. Is the phone damaged, or is it my charger? Just bought another battery on amazon and an external charger in case it's the phone. I read somewhere to hard reset it but I have too much stuff to back-up. If nothing else works, I'll have to do it, but I'm saving that as a last resort.

Dec 12, 2011i have collected probably 15 different chargers the last couple of years that I use at various locations to charge my Blackberry, iPhone, and a couple of Samsung Google Nexus Phones. That is every device other than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch before that. I get the familiar message "the charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery", except when connected to RIM manufactured charger or fortunately the USB port on my laptop. How in the world can every phone other than RIM's Blackberry take a charge from the various power sources without problem. I had the problem to some degree on the Torch, but figured RIM would catch on and get it fixed. Now I have the new Bold 9900 and it does not even work on my trusted 12V car charger. If 4 or 5 different devices work with multiple chargers and the Bold 9900 does not work on any it has to be a RIM and BLACKBERRY problem.Maybe the guys in Waterloo are just totally insulated from the rest of the world and only own BlackBerry phones with Blackberry chargers and believe there is not a problem. At least it appear that way with this charger issue and several other issues, but I won't get deeper into that here?
