Is it possible to use the torch 9800 as an analogue modem connected to my laptop and connect to another analogue modem over the normal PSTN telephone lines?I know I can connect to the internet but in this particular case I do require the internet only the connection to the other analogue modem.
I would like to use my Torch 9800 connected to my Laptop while away from any Wi Fi or other connection service , typically sat in the middle of a field.
I was configuring bluetooth connection between my laptop and Torch 9800 and windows automatically configured my Torch as bluetooth modem and now I can use my Torch as a modem over bluetooth for internet access. This is a welcomed surprise as I was contemplating whether or not to spend 20 plus dollars to buy the tethered application but apparently there is this free option. This is probably not new to BB experts but I was so happy about this "new discovery" that I thought of sharing.
We have a BB wall charger (not 3rd party). It works perfectly with my Bold 9700 and it used to work with the Torch as well. All of a sudden it started not to charge the Torch (wall charger). You plug it in and there is no response from the phone whatsoever. But, if you plug it to your PC/Laptop it charges through the USB power.Another thing we noticed is that it no longer gives you any options like "usb drive" "sync media" or "charge only". Also, it is a bit wiggly on the phone side (fitting of the microUSB plug). It wasn't as wiggly before the problems, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious physical damage or any reason for a damage (as much as we know).
Since I updated to the new 6.0.2.44 upgrade I haven't been able to sync to my laptop. I connect my cable to the 9800 and start the software. It tells me to connect to my 9800 and says disconnected in the lower right corner. I've pulled my battery and restarted, but no luc
I have recently added my company email on Blackberry Torch 9800. Whenever I get any mail on my BB and I read it, while Outlook is not open on my laptop, the mail is not delivered on my laptop at all. I have already ticked the "leave a copy of messages on Server" in accounts settings.
Further, I receive mails on my BB in bunches after a gap varying from 20 mins to 1 hour after the sender has sent the mail to me. I receive from 4 - 10 mails at one single time, but not as and when they are posted. After facing these problems, I upgraded the OS to 6.0.0 bundle 2647, however the behavior has not changed.
i was charging it on my laptop and all of a sudden couldn't turn on, i dont know if the charge finished...i tried a bunch of basic stuff, lock button power off power on, or whatever but nothing works...im also not getting a red blinking light that certain people got after searching on Google?
I have recently found out that it is possible to get around buying the $60 internet card for my laptop by using my phone, which has unlimited internet, for the browsing. I have been messing around with my Dell XPS 1530 and cell for days and can't figure it out.
I've googled around a lot and have found that according to people it isn't 100% guaranteed it will work. I pay for BIS. I got 3 (from Sweden) and it is a bold 9700. Is there any possible way I will be able to use it as a 3g modem?
i want to connect my laptop to internet using my bb as a modem, i owe a 9700bolt and i downloaded blackberry deteskop menager and there should be a icon for it and its not there what should i do?
I have an issue with my e72-1 at the moment. It's either the phone, the ovi software.I have the following: Nokia e72 < acts as modem via cable or bluetooth > laptop..When it acts over modem via either cable or bluetooth, I can only access certain sites eg.I can't access google, or msn messenger for instance I can access wikipedia, and my ISPs website as an example.Originally I thought it was because it was only able to access australian servers, but this isn't the case. My browser just seems unable to get a connection to certain sites/servers ever - it times out when i try to view google - but only when my phone is the link to the internet. On the phone, I can access every site/server that I want. But not on my laptop via the phone. When I'm on another internet connection (home or work etc), I have no issues connecting to those sites/servers from my laptop.Browsing google over other connections has not helped me find a solution yet. The connection to the net is stable - it doesn't drop out and can remain connected indefinitely.I'm running:
Laptop version: windows7, with ovi 2.2.0.241
Phone version: 031.023
The results have been the same on earlier versions of the phone and ovi software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having trouble trying to get my N900 to work as a dialup modem via my laptop running XP through USB cable. Drivers are installed and when i query the modem in settings it responds with the following:
ATQ0V1E0 - OK AT+GMM - Nokia N900 AT+FCLASS=? - 0 AT#CLS=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED AT+GCI? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED AT+GCI=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED ATI1 - 356938035429415 ATI2 - V ICPR82_10w08 25-02-10 RX-51 (c) Nokia Nokia N900 (RX-51 rev 2204) Maemo 5 (10.2010.19.1) Linux version 2.6.28-omap1 Product 0583566A ATI3 - Nokia N900 ATI4 - ICPR82_10w08 ATI5 - OK ATI6 - OK ATI7 - OK
Not that all that stuff means much to me but I thought it may tell somebody something. Whenever I instigate a connection I get error 777 that the modem is out of order and the phone does nothing. I need to be able to make dialup modem to modem connections via my phone for communicating with machinery using the machinery makers software. I have been able to do this over IR or Bluetooth with all my previous Nokia phones.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
When I connect other BB, I can see in the DM that there is a 6th icon called IP modem to connect as a wireless internet IP modem, but how come in my 9700 I can't do that?
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
