When i plug my HTC hd in, it never ever recognises the fact it's plugged into my pc. Port not responding i always get, or 'no device connected'. it makes putting music on a real pain as i have to use another program called htc sync, which is cack.
View 1 RepliesMy desire Z is telling me that i have a headset attached but i dont. I have tried the following;
1. I have switched it off and on again.
2. I have cleaned the sockets
At the moment I can only use it if I plug headphones into to listen which is a complete pain.I have lots of text messages, contacts and apps on my phone and I dont want to try a factory reset if I am going to lose them all.
I got the HD a couple of days ago and upgraded the software the first evening I got the phone.. Then the WIFI just stopped working ( said I was connected but yet no pages would load which was very frustrating..)..Took phone back to shop and got a new one now , with 2.2 on it which works fine.. I know I am likely to get the warning for the udgrade tonight but I will probably not install it
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have HTC Desire. I had some videos and pictures in my mobile. I never deleted them from my mobile, I just transferred them to my PC and with transfer they disappear. I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe HTC desire and HT Sync work well with Contacts, Photos and Calendar. But with documents, the synchronisation appears to be from the PC to the Desire and not the other way round. Thus it appears to copy rather than synchronise.

I currently have a curve 9300, and my service provider is Telus Mobility. I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a second hand HTC Desire HD, it is on 2.3.3 software which although fairly stable, is pants in quite a few ways, such as not being able to take screenshots!!
I cannot find a way to update it atall, phone is not rooted as I ave no idea how to do this and worried that following guides online will brick the phone.
how to update to 2.3.5 or even 4.0.3 (but would prefer 2.3.5) I was running 4.0.3 on my HTC Sensation and it was very buggy.
For the last week or so the phone keeps shutting itself off and restarting only to go into a loop.
I then take battery out and start up again. It will get to the main screen and will just do the same thing again. After ages and ages of messing around it will then seem to be fine.
I've noticed it only seems to do it late in the evening and on the taskbar it keeps showing the gps satalite symbol. If the phone dnt show it then it dnt seem to shut down.
I always believed this phone to be of good reliability but its not. I will be phoning my operator as to me its a faulty phone. I do have anti virus apps which show no problem.

It appears any 'Restore' option would only be available after a softare update, or factory restore. Seems rather limited. I've also connected 'Disk Drive' option and tried to copy the files onto PC. I had to do one folder at a time and the .data file would not copy over at all.

I know that there are carriers that have a version of desire that will work with att 3g. Where is the best place that I can get this version of Desire for not too expensive. I would prefer to get it at an online retailer to getting it on ebay, Also will the desire have the same voice recognition search, navigation that the nexus has? Also does it have the same google voice turn by turn navigation software (not google maps)?
