i'm updating my blackberry to 6.0 - 2534,but already 3 hours have past and it didn't even move a little.It just stays @ backing up third party applications.Will my BB crash if i would disconnect it from my laptop?im wondering since it was still busy with backing up and not with updating yet.BTW: i got a Curve G3 9300?

My Blackberry Curve 9300 regularly reverts to a screen saying 'connecting to desktop'. The phone then 'freezes' on that screen and I cannot do anything and the only solution is to open the back, remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot. This seems to do the trick but it's happening quite frequently which is a major nuisance, particularly since the reboot process takes such an age. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I have been trying to complete the software update for BB Curve 9300 but it is locked with a message = "Update requires additional memory. Removing older data." This message has been on for close to 12 hours! How do I stop this. All keys are locked. I can turn off the phone but when I turn it back on I get the same message.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the last update of the appworld application (around one week ago) I encounter some problems with its search feature. Indeed, when I enter a keyword in the search field, it sends me back the result by categories (News/Games/My World...). And if I click on any categories to get the details of applications found, the appworld application freezes. I must click on the back/return key to regain control so I never have the result of what I searched.
So each time I need a new application by searching, I must use the web blackberry site and a QR code scanner. And, regarding this point, I have another question: could you explain me why I'm not able to install some basic applications on my recent BB like "yahoo!", "viigo" or one of the RIM gift "bejeweled" ? When I try to install them, appworld answers "this application is not available for this terminal" (translation from french message). I'm very surprised that those application are not available on one of the most recent device and with the last OS.

My Curve 9370 freezes during the back-up phase of the update... Tried pulling the battery (re-booting) several times...

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen updating the OS on my 8530 using the pc Desktop Manager software v5.0.1 and the usb connector to the phone. I started at 11:00am this morning. It is now almost 3:00pm.It is still showing 346 of the 528 modules in the Download device Software part of the process. At this point it's a fail... But it says Do not disconnect your device... or else. What now? Very disappointing.

When I clicked on install, after a few seconds I received the message "There was an error installing updates. Click here to see the updates that have not been installed". This download process has happened a couple of times. I have tried and tried to run the installation, but keep getting the same message.
I then checked the version of my BB Desktop software and found that it was 5.0.1.18 [Aug 21 2009]. The update notification is therefore for a newer version, or so it seems. Can anyone help with reasons why it wont install, or give me some pointers how to get round whatever is preventing the installation. I don't want to have to keep downloading 250 mb files every night if I can help it.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.

After the firmware update I decided to also update the maps using the map downloader since there are some roads missing in my area.Now the phone itself itself is working fine but I have a problem with the map navigation. I have a 2 year license for navigation for Southern Africa. Since the map update the phone will freeze when trying to calculate a route. You select your destination and when you select "Drive to" it goes back to the map, "Calculating route" appears in the top left corner and the map occasionally spins from North orientation and back again.I tried to restore a backup that I did before I undertook all these changes but it has made no difference to the map. I noticed on the new maps that there are dotted lines in the middle of the roads on the map. These did not appear on the previous map version that I had. The version I updated to is v2.0 wk24 b02.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI tried to update from 6.0 Bundle 2342 to 6.0 Bundle 2647 and during the installation, it will update to a certain module and then freeze. An hour later, I will get a pop up that says there is a problem with my internet connection and the options to retry or cancel. I hit retry and the update will run a little further, then freeze again. At this point it's been 3 hours, and I've gotten as far as 357 of 578. This is the first time I've tried to update, and I did a back up right before I attempted this update.

Do you want to update it now?" So I click yes but then get an error message. "An error has occured while downloading the blackberry app loader software. Please try again". If I select "check for updates" under the help menu in the loader is says that there arent any available. I've also completely uninstalled the program, downloaded the software direct from the website and reinstalled and i'm still get the same problem, which is stopping me from updating my phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a firmware update on my e52 about a week or two ago and since then my phone has crashes and freezes when I plug it to my computer via USB cable and select PC Suite.It just crashes and the only thing that helps is removing the battery and even after that I need to repeat the battery removal for 2-3 times until it finally responds. Otherwise when I push the button to switch it on it just shakes, the screen stays blank and nothing else happens.

I'm wondering if this problem will ever be fixed or if I should just resign myself to this issue and accept it as part of owning this device? I really enjoy my Lumia phone, having moved from the iPhone. In fact, I enjoy it so much, I'm hoping a tablet version would be made. However, if the problem with the phone continues for another week, I may have to call AT&T to get a replacement 920.

It will work fine but then randomly it will not allow me to open current chats. (I can still scroll through names on my list, so the whole screen isn't frozed, I just can't click on anything.) The only thing I can do to "fix" it is a hard reset of my phone, but then its just a matter of time before it freezes again. Happens daily at least.

On a possibly related matter, when streaming Play Music via bluetooth in my car (Honda Civic) the app will not shut down when I shut the stereo off. Just stays open and paused. It worked fine before either 5.1 or the last Play Music update. I am not sure which as I got them around the same time.

Now, i am having freezing screen issues. the screen just stops responding to the touch. for example, yesterday someone called me, i saw them calling, it was ringing, i tried to slide the green button to answer but nothing happened. it was frozen/stuck. this has happened 2 times now. not just when someone calls but just in general when i am trying to unlock my phone. when i tried unlocking my phone, nothing happened. i pressed the power button to wake up the phone but nothing. it was just a black screen. finally i held down the power button and it eventually turned off and powered back on.
