Using the Desktop Software, I attempted to update my Blackberry Device Software. It has been going for about any hour, and has been stuck at module 428 of 457 for about 50 minutes. It says that if I disconnect or interrupt, my device could be unusable. What should I do?
View 1 RepliesI connected my blackberry curve 9360 to my computer via blackberry desktop software for the first time today and it asked if I wanted to update my device.
I clicked yes, then it started the first stage of updating and it has frozen backing up 'Database: Options (3 of 21 items)'
Is there a way to unfreeze it or would it be safe to eject my phone and try again?
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
ive just backed up my phone. the svr 6.0.0 xx 47 and desktop says update to 49 but it will not.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen updating the OS on my 8530 using the pc Desktop Manager software v5.0.1 and the usb connector to the phone. I started at 11:00am this morning. It is now almost 3:00pm.It is still showing 346 of the 528 modules in the Download device Software part of the process. At this point it's a fail... But it says Do not disconnect your device... or else. What now? Very disappointing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI received a notification that I needed to update the Desktop software to v5.0.1 2010-03-25 and so downloaded the 250MB file. When I clicked on install, after a few seconds I received the message "There was an error installing updates. Click here to see the updates that have not been installed". This download process has happened a couple of times. I have tried and tried to run the installation, but keep getting the same message.
I then checked the version of my BB Desktop software and found that it was 5.0.1.18 [Aug 21 2009]. The update notification is therefore for a newer version, or so it seems. Can anyone help with reasons why it wont install, or give me some pointers how to get round whatever is preventing the installation. I don't want to have to keep downloading 250 mb files every night if I can help it.
I was told i needed to update my phone (curve 9360) to the latest software. so i did all the necessary things needed, and then it got down to the actually installing, and the screen was said:

it was on this for 4 hours, so i took battery out to restart, when i did turn it back on, it got back to 7% and stopped, i need my phone urgently as i have NO way of contacting anyone - therefore wont be able to go to work, because i cant contact the person who gives me a lift. I cant contact anyone in an emergency. I was expecting an important call which obviously i have missed.
I have a 8900 on AT&T and i am using a iMac computer. I recently updated my desktop software and then it told me i have an update available for my 8900. I went ahead a performed a backup before and then the update started. It failed and the phone is now stuck on a the Blackberry Platform 4.2.0.108. View 1 Replies View RelatedLike others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.
I am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
I'm updating my BlackBerry Curve 8520 device software version from 4.6.1.272 to 4.6.1.314. I used the BlackBerry Desktop Software and clicked the "Update my device" button in updating my BlackBerry Curve device software version. The process was started last Monday, November 15, 2010 but until now is not yet finish (Thursday, November 18, 2010). Is this normal? I cannot disconnect my device because it said that "During these steps, do not disconnect your device or interrupt this process as it could make your device unusable."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new curve 8320 and I've installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager v 5.0.1.18
It connects to my BB fine via usb cable but in Add/Remove Applications, it comes up blank with the message "No software is available for your device".
Also, when I try to install the Media Manager, it gets stuck at "downloaded 59.7MB out of (unknown)" and then the loading box just disappears. I've tried just reclicking the Install button and the same things happens.
I've tried to look online for the Media Manager file to download separately but nothing came up.
I recently upgraded my Desktop Software to 7.0, and when I connected by Tour to sync it has been at the "Preparing sync preview" screen for about 40 minutes with the bar completely green. Is this a glitch with the new 7.0 software?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recieved an email saying that there was a software update for my device, but when I open the desktop software to update it get a message saying "Your blackberry application loader needs to be updated before you can continue. Do you want to update it now?" So I click yes but then get an error message. "An error has occured while downloading the blackberry app loader software. Please try again". If I select "check for updates" under the help menu in the loader is says that there arent any available. I've also completely uninstalled the program, downloaded the software direct from the website and reinstalled and i'm still get the same problem, which is stopping me from updating my phone.

I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.

But the content protection is disabled in Options -> Security -> Encryption (Device memory & Media card both are diabled for encryption). I've disabled all the options over there but still I'm getting this weird message which is not letting me update my Apps.
Every single time i connect my New 9900 Bold to my pc via its USB lead the BB DeskTop opens up as normal but then tells me to update the OS software ! i have now done this 6 TIMES !and still i get the same thing everytime!

View 9 Replies View Related80-90% of the time when I am using the Desktop Manager software, I use it to make an internet connection. When I connect my phone to the pc, the software searches for application updates with a window that pops up. Since I do not have an internet connection yet, this is quite pointless. There is a cancel button, but even when pressed it still will take upwords of 30sec-1min before the window goes away, and I can make my internet connection. Is there some way to make the software not search for updates? I am using version 5.0.1 on both winXP pro, and win7 pro.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI has installed the Desktop Manager in August and I'm SURE I stored all my contacts from address book (over 300 personal and prof. number) as well as all my pictures and docs. After my telephone was stolen, I purchased a new 9700 model, and ran the update via the Desktop Manager, but unfortunately, not all my contacts are here. The application just retrieved a few email address. I am definitely sure my previous address book is stored somewhere in my PC and could be reloaded.
