BB Software :: OS Update Every-time When Connect To Desktop
Dec 4, 2011
Every single time i connect my New 9900 Bold to my pc via its USB lead the BB DeskTop opens up as normal but then tells me to update the OS software ! i have now done this 6 TIMES !and still i get the same thing everytime!
The Last sync and Last backup dates don't update when I connect to BB desktop and do auto sync and backup. This causes backup to run every time I connect instead of weekly like I have it setup. If I do a manual sync the date updates but if I do a manual backup the date stays unchanged. I'm running desktop 6.0.0.43 and OS 5.0.0.886. Does anyone know how to cure this problem?
i am using att branded unlocked 9810 on t mobile. recently i updated it to 9810jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel998_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.284. it worked fine for a hour after that i uninstalled one of the app from my BlackBerry Desktop Software the phone restarted and since then it is stuck on att welcome screen i pressed the phone button and i can see my contacts even make and receive calls switch between 5 default application but the phone wont go home screen. also i am unable to connect to my desktop manager.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
I just bought my Blackberry, plugged it into my computer and installed the desktop manager. I had many updates so I pressed okay and now it's in the process, but it has been on the 3rd task (out of 11) for quite a while, I'm not sure if it's supposed to take this long or if it's just frozen or messed up on my computer.
While trying to fix an "App Error 523 reset" problem, I came across a (seemingly) very helpful post on this forum. However, I got stuck on step one because I have not yet used the Desktop Manager, and cannot figure out how to get past the initial DM welcome screen with my broken phone. My phone won't currently connect to DM because the phone can't properly start up. I need to get into Desktop Manager to access the Application Loader to fix my app error 523 problem.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
After upgrading to ios5.1 my phone takes a very long time trying to connect to my email servers, check for new mail, and to update email status. After deleting emails, the Mailboxes window often takes a very long time updating status to reflect the emails as read.
This process used take no time at all, but now simply connecting to the servers after selecting the Mail icon can take 30+ seconds. Also, when it indicates the email boxes as updated, the spinning clock icon at the top status bar is still going.
I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 that I have been using for about 8 months. I generally sync it about once per day with Microsoft Outlook using the Desktop Manager through a USB connection.Today it would not sync! The PC recognized that I had plugged it in so I am assuming the USB cable is OK.The bar on top of the Desktop manager shows "Disconnected" and the bottom left corner of the Desktop Manager shows my connection as "none"If I try to sync it, a Device Connection box opens up asking for the PIN but does not allow me to type anything into the box. I have rebooted both the Blackberry and PC a few times to see if this would solve my problem - did not work. I have also tried other USB connections on my PC. I have not loaded any new software onto the PC recently, my antivirus program is up to date. I have read through the help files and cannot find anyway to get it to reconnect. What do I have to do to get Connected? Do I have to reload the Desktop Manager software or ?
I received a notification that I needed to update the Desktop software to v5.0.1 2010-03-25 and so downloaded the 250MB file. When I clicked on install, after a few seconds I received the message "There was an error installing updates. Click here to see the updates that have not been installed". This download process has happened a couple of times. I have tried and tried to run the installation, but keep getting the same message.
I then checked the version of my BB Desktop software and found that it was 5.0.1.18 [Aug 21 2009]. The update notification is therefore for a newer version, or so it seems. Can anyone help with reasons why it wont install, or give me some pointers how to get round whatever is preventing the installation. I don't want to have to keep downloading 250 mb files every night if I can help it.
i have purchaced new sony ericson X10 recently. Can some one suggest me how to remove time space from my desktop. Its covering my photo in desktop. Also tell me me how to disconnect/silent the phone when i get a call.
Anyone notice that when using Factory widgets for the time and weather that the time doesn't update? It work fine before GB. I uninstalled it and then tried the moto and Verizon widgets the work fine.
I have a Blackberry 9300 Curve. When I sync my BB using desktop manager the time zone re-sets itself from GMT Dublin London time to Eniwetok-12 gmt ( I don't even know were Eniwetok is) . Here's some of the settings and systems information. On the Blackberry under Date and Time the update time is set to automatic, time zone- 12 hour-auto update. On the Desktop Software I have all the default settings to standard 2 way sync default with Microsoft Outlook 2007. The time zone on my computer is GMT London Dublin. I am running on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
I'm trying to uninstall Desktop Manager 5.0.1 , When I tried to uninstall using the typical Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel, it appears the following error: "Could not access VBScript run time for custom action". How can I repair or uninstall the Desktop Manager??
When i sync my blackberry to outlook all the tasks go into my phone as a time of 0:00 (midnight) Whereas my tasks all have proper times for them set in outlook? I have around 4000 tasks and this is really a major problem !Is there something i am doing or is this an issue that can be fixed?
Ever since I updated my desktop software to 6.0, when I back up my device, it changes my time zone to Eniwetok (I am in Eastern Time Zone). My computer is set on Eastern Time Zone, and the time zone does not change in Outlook when I sync, just on my device.I even have Auto Update Time Zone on my device turned off, but it still changes my time zone. Why is it doing this, and how can I stop it?
I have a BB Bold 9000, and I can't seem to connect to BB Device Manager. It's recognized on my computer as mass storage mode, but it won't connect to Device Manager, and just says Connect your Blackberry device.
My phone just wont connect to desktop, I have the phone registered wiith it, and it shows up the name of my phone and that its connecting, but that stays on forever and doesnt actually connect..
I can't connect the blackberry to the desktop manager, it doesn't recognize my phone on the computer, but that happened when I updated my desktop manager to the next version. Because before that it worked very fine.I tried to change the configuration on the desktop manager but it didn't work out. My computer doesn't recognize my phone as an usb device either.
I have just replaced 8900 with 8520 and backup restore was almost finished when the cable fell out and now when I connect the Blackberry via USB cable and try and restore again it won't connect to the Desktop Software. I was told that if I do a master reset to remove the data on the phone and try to restore again I may not be able to restore everything I have alrady backed up.
I have upgraded to blackberry desktop 6, now my storm 9530 will not connect: I have tried pulling battery I have disabled my external hard drive I have disable my antivirus

I'd like to be able to mirror my xoom screen on a desktop monitor for small group presentations at job sites. I've viewed some of the threads on hdmi to vga, hdmi to dvi and hdmi to hdmi, but am a little confused as to which is easiest. It looks like if you go with hdmi to vga you'll need some type of converter, not just a cable? If it was just a cable that would be perfect.
my bold doesnt seem to be able to connect to my desktop software. Even if i turn on mass storage, my phone isn't recognized by the desktop software at all. i just updated to the latest version, but still doesn't work.
While trying to update my apps this morning, the 9700 hung up, as did the Desktop software.I rebooted both. The device works partially but I am missing key features like the browser. When connecting to the device through either the desktop software of the web, I enter the password, which appears to be accepted, then the device hangs again.I can't update or remove the software.I get connectivity through 3G but have no browser.
I installed the desktop software on my 64-bit Win7 Home Premium PC in my administrator user account and made changes to the setup (e.g. deleting languages and AOL and messenger apps) then exited and switched to my normal user account to get into contacts and calendar setup, since I use Outlook in the normal user account. The details of my new BB showed up greyed out but 'connecting' went on for ever and I had to use Task Manager to close it down. I guess I have to start all over again and do all the business in the normal user account so is there a reset?
