BB Bold :: 9790 Cannot Connect To Desktop Software Via Bluetooth?

Oct 5, 2012

Bold 9790, running 7.0.0.609. Desktop Software 7.1.0.32. Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1Per the subject, I cannot connect my 9790 to the Desktop Software via Bluetooth. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software (with a reboot inbetween) with success. When pairing the phone with Windows, it detects and attempts to install 3 drivers. The only one that is successful is the modem profile. No other drivers are installed. The Desktop Software does not see the phone. If I attempt to install the phone through the Desktop Software initially, it will see the phone, however the same problem occurs with the drivers.I should also note that the phone is set to always connect to the PC.

BB Torch :: App Error 606 / Can't Connect To Desktop Mananger

Feb 10, 2011

I was backing up my blackberry torch last night and the connection was disconnected during the backup. When the phone restarted the message "App Error 606" / "Reset" came up. I can't do anything on my phone except for reset it, and pulling the battery does nothing. When I try to connect it to blackberry desktop software it wont connect... I left it for an hour and it still just said that it was connecting.I also tried connecting to BBSAK and it couldn't connect there either, so I can't reset it to factory settings. I checked the desktop manager and it recognizes the USB port as connected to a blackberry device but that is about as close as I can get to connecting to anything.I have a backup of all of my information from before this happened so I don't mind completely resetting my phone, but I have no idea how to do this without being able to:

a) connect it to the computer

b) do anything except reset on the phone

BB Torch :: Desktop Software Cannot Connect With This Device

Jul 19, 2011

after updating my torch, the red light wont stop blinking. blinks twice.. stops and on and on.whenever i would plug my torch to the computer it gives me this message :"The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device. If this device is rebooting or has a dead battery, click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots. If clicking Retry doesn't connect the device, or the device isn't rebooting with a charged battery, you might need to update your BlackBerry® Device Software to correct the problem. You can also click Cancel to stop trying to connect your device with the BlackBerry Desktop Software. To try again, you'll need to disconnect and reconnect your device with your USB cable."then whenever i click update > blackberry 6.0 (which is recommended), it would stop at "Loading OS" and quits by itself.

BB Torch :: Since O/S Update Bluetooth To Car Kit Wont Connect?

Dec 18, 2011

I have just upgraded my Blackberry 9800 O/S and now it will not connect to my Range Rover phone kit via bluetooth and it always worked before. Other phones all still connect to the range rover - what bug has been introduced here and when/what will be done to fix it as I cannot roll back the O/S. Apple IOS works fine.

sees bluetooth inbuilt car kit, connect to it and then shows "land rover bluetooth connection failed" - have tried reboot of phone and changing settings to no avail. Try with any other phone and it connects straight away as normal and always has. Is this another Bberry Bluetooth issue I have read about. Wishing I hadnt upgraded now as cannot use handsfree in car due to O/S update. Is anyone else experiencing this issue since the recent O/S update by Bberry ??

BB Desktop Software :: 9530 Cannot Connect To Desktop Manager

Feb 18, 2010

I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 that I have been using for about 8 months.
I generally sync it about once per day with Microsoft Outlook using the Desktop Manager through a USB connection.Today it would not sync! The PC recognized that I had plugged it in so I am assuming the USB cable is OK.The bar on top of the Desktop manager shows "Disconnected" and the bottom left corner of the Desktop Manager shows my connection as "none"If I try to sync it, a Device Connection box opens up asking for the PIN but does not allow me to type anything into the box.
I have rebooted both the Blackberry and PC a few times to see if this would solve my problem - did not work.
I have also tried other USB connections on my PC.
I have not loaded any new software onto the PC recently, my antivirus program is up to date.
I have read through the help files and cannot find anyway to get it to reconnect.
What do I have to do to get Connected? Do I have to reload the Desktop Manager software or ?

BB Tour 9630 :: Bluetooth Tethering - Connecting To Desktop -

Jan 30, 2010

Okay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!

Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.

My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.

I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!

I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.

Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.

BB Curve 8900 :: Desktop Manager Does Not Detect Paired Over Bluetooth?

Jul 24, 2010

I'm trying to set up bluetooth synchronization for my 8900 now that I am no longer on a BES.I picked up an Asus USB BT-21 bluetooth adapter for my PC, which is apparently based on Broadcom hardware. I'm running Win7 64 bit and installed the Broadcom drivers for the adapter. I followed the instructions here: http://www.blackberry.com /btsc/ search.do? cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&sliceId=1&docTy.Everything works fine up until the point where I go back into Desktop Manager and try to find my 8900. Desktop manager manages to find every other blackberry in my building except for mine. At the bottom of the instructions, it says that a conflicting IT policy might be the cause of this problem. So, I reset to factory defaults to remove any lingering IT policies as per the instructions here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/67224-remove-policy.html?highlight=remove+policy Tried to connect again but still no joy in mudsville.

BB Bold 9000 :: Connecting Using Bluetooth With Desktop Only Works Once - Then Reset Is Needed

Mar 13, 2010

I am running Vista with Black Berry Device Manager 5.0.1.11 and BBDevMgr 4.1.0.12. I am using the latest Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.

I can connect once and synch several times with my Blackberry Bold 9000. But as soon as I disconnect once, the Device Manager does not connect anymore when trying again.

I do recognice in the Bluetooth status window - both on the BB and Vista - that there is a short connection and breaks again. That repeats all the time.

If I try to search again for the BB, it is not found anymore. It is still registered in the Bluetooth devices but the Device Manager does not find it anymore.

Deleting the entry in the the Bluetooth device section does not help. I do have to do a reset (battery out or the alt-shift-del key) then I can reconnect once again.

Someone does have the same problem?

I am quite sure that the problem is in the Device Manager (not the Desktop Manager) - but it can also be a device software and / or hardware problem.
