Nokia :: Toggle Bluetooth On/off Within The Desktop Area?
Apr 5, 2010
I have previosuly downloaded an application (can't really rememeber the name) that allows a user to toggle the bluetooth on/off within the desktop area. I have flashed my phone memory recently and wanted back this application but are unable to locate it. Does anyone knows where I can find it?
when i enable wlan or bluetooth throug the notification toggle (swipe down from status bar) it does open a menu for searching new wlans / bt-devices. Is there a setting that lets this toggle only activate / deactivate the option without opening the menu?
Why don't we have wifi, data, bluetooth, and airplane mode or internet tethring toggles on notifications area? This will avoid jailbreaking our devices. Don't you think it will be verey useful ?
I am using nokia c3 mobile in which I use an app Whatsapp. I want to use it only through wifi but when I am out of wifi area Whatsapp starts using the data of sim. So I want to completely switch off the internet on my mobile such that the only way to use internet is through Wifi.
We have 6350s that we've opted for 'voice only' service. Our batteries last for only 2-3 days (primarily in standby); I suspect it's the 3G network that is so parasitic. Has anyone knowledge of how to toggle Network Mode to GSM (etc)?
My 18 months old Nokia Navigator 6210 has suddenly developed several thin black lines across the screen which are spreading across the entire screen area.
is there anyway that I could change the applications shown on the active standby area?I know how to change the shortcuts, but how do I change area below, say to not let calendar to show, and instead let something else be shown?

I saw notification area settings while I was surfing via menus when I bought the phone newly. Then I couldn't find it again. I want to put e-mail notificatons into the notification area like missing calls and incoming messages. I remember there was a settings like that.
Okay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.
Bold 9790, running 7.0.0.609. Desktop Software 7.1.0.32. Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1Per the subject, I cannot connect my 9790 to the Desktop Software via Bluetooth. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software (with a reboot inbetween) with success. When pairing the phone with Windows, it detects and attempts to install 3 drivers. The only one that is successful is the modem profile. No other drivers are installed. The Desktop Software does not see the phone. If I attempt to install the phone through the Desktop Software initially, it will see the phone, however the same problem occurs with the drivers.I should also note that the phone is set to always connect to the PC.
I have a BB9900 running device software 7.0. I also have BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 installed. I run Windows 7. I am trying to connect my computer to my BB using bluetooth so I can sync wirelessly. Bluetooth is enabled on my 9900 and my computer is a "paired device". However when I use the Desktop software and try to "add a bluetooth enable device" it can't find my phone. Also when I go through Devices and Printers on my computer I can see the phone (bluetooth is enabled on the computer) although there is a driver problem identified that windows can't fix.
Does the iPhone4S have any way of showing you, on the desktop or the notification bar, whether or not your Bluetooth is activated? I am always leaving it on and forgetting that it is on. The notification screen shows whether or not Wi-Fi and/or 3G is active, but not Bluetooth. Is there a setting I can tweak to add Bluetooth notification to the notification bar or the desktop? Is there an app for this if Settings won't do it?
I'm trying to set up bluetooth synchronization for my 8900 now that I am no longer on a BES.I picked up an Asus USB BT-21 bluetooth adapter for my PC, which is apparently based on Broadcom hardware. I'm running Win7 64 bit and installed the Broadcom drivers for the adapter. I followed the instructions here: http://www.blackberry.com /btsc/ search.do? cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&sliceId=1&docTy.Everything works fine up until the point where I go back into Desktop Manager and try to find my 8900. Desktop manager manages to find every other blackberry in my building except for mine. At the bottom of the instructions, it says that a conflicting IT policy might be the cause of this problem. So, I reset to factory defaults to remove any lingering IT policies as per the instructions here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/67224-remove-policy.html?highlight=remove+policy Tried to connect again but still no joy in mudsville.
I am running Vista with Black Berry Device Manager 5.0.1.11 and BBDevMgr 4.1.0.12. I am using the latest Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.
I can connect once and synch several times with my Blackberry Bold 9000. But as soon as I disconnect once, the Device Manager does not connect anymore when trying again.
I do recognice in the Bluetooth status window - both on the BB and Vista - that there is a short connection and breaks again. That repeats all the time.
If I try to search again for the BB, it is not found anymore. It is still registered in the Bluetooth devices but the Device Manager does not find it anymore.
Deleting the entry in the the Bluetooth device section does not help. I do have to do a reset (battery out or the alt-shift-del key) then I can reconnect once again.
Someone does have the same problem?
I am quite sure that the problem is in the Device Manager (not the Desktop Manager) - but it can also be a device software and / or hardware problem.
BB desktop software on Win7 unable to link via Bt to torch 9860, it says troubleshooting needed.. no driver on win7? However it works for transfer files from PC to device.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
My E71 used to work fine in car hands free via bluetooth - now it pairs OK but then gives "unable to create bluetooth connection" message. Another E71 works fine.
I did try (twice) to e-mail Nokia care - each time I filled in all details only to get a Gateway timeout message when I tried to send it - and all details wiped out!
My tracker pad has stopped working....cant toggle at all! It is driving me nuts! 2e-mails and 2 texts which can be read on a phone that is only 2 months old!! its driving me MAD!
I tried to install just Frash and it would not install so I installed Frash Toggle. But don't unstand how to get it to work. Can some one here help please?
I have purchase iphone 5 from fido (Toronto, Canada). Recently, I have it unlocked it from therm(fido) and changed my provider to wind mobile who supports 4G (LTE) . My data and voice works fine with them (Wind Mobile) using 3G but I don't see the LTE enable/disable toggle option and therefore I'm not able to connect to their 4G network. I have 3G enable/disable toggle so seems like the option is no more available to me.
I've noticed I can have wifi off but sometimes when I access my notification drop down, I see the wifi toggle flicker on for a second. Some adjustable setting or just a minor bug?
I purchased an unlocked 4s to use with my T-Mobile SIM. I had previously been using a 3GS on T-Mobile. Since the update to version 5, apple has removed the settings toggle to disable the 3G radio. This causes a strange issue when 3G is forced to be on, after every call, the radio resets its self, dropping to 1 bar and searching before reconnecting. On version 5.0.1 I was able to jailbreak the phone and install a second party toggle to disable the 3G radio, this restored the normal operation of the phone on the T-Mobile network. But since upgrading to 5.1, I am unable to install this toggle, and it has made the phone really annoying to use. Why has apple removed this toggle? Have they moved it or is there another way to disable it?
