is there anyway that I could change the applications shown on the active standby area?I know how to change the shortcuts, but how do I change area below, say to not let calendar to show, and instead let something else be shown?
View 4 RepliesPicking it up this morning I tried entering my security PIN only to find the numbers weren't registering. The problem? My finger holding the device - while not touching the screen area - was too close and was activating multitouch. Moving my finger out of the way solved the problem though my grip slips away and the device starts to fall out of my hands.
I can't be the only one that finds this tablet hard to hold. And the best part is, there's an easy remedy to the situation: give us the option to change the active screen area (e.g. shrink it by a certain number of pixels in order to give us more room to hold it). Even without changing anything else in Honeycomb this is still doable, yet I fear it will never become a reality.
Am I the only one who wants to see them let us shrink the touchable area of the screen so we can hold it better?
I developed a problem with my E51. Active standby crashes couple minutes after staring up and becomes unresponsive. When you turn on the phone, active standby looks fine and everything displays normally (e.g. 1 Unread email, meeting at noon, etc.). However, right after that it gets stuck and doesn't update anymore. That means that if you read the email, the notification remains. Or if you get 3 more new emails, it will still display 1 unread email. Same thing with calendar even after the meeting passes, it's not cleared. Not even the next day, and new meetings will not be displayed on active standby until the phone is reboot.
I just realized that even the administrative shortcuts don't work (i.e. *#06# for IMEI or *#0000# for firmware). The phone beeps, but nothing is displayed.Does anyone have a solution to this, yet another, nokia software issue? Cause the latest advice I got when looking for solutions to my constant nokia problems (email crashing, random reboots, etc.) was Go and get a Blackberry I'd rather not go that way, unless I have no other choice.
I can't get the email / calendar of the active standby to fill the screen on the E72 that I just picked up.
Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong? Do I just need to find a suitable theme? I am at least looking for the width to be used up, but it would be nice to use up some of the vertical space to show an extra email or something.
I recently upgraded to Anna and cannot change my profile, it is stuck on General. When I select other options like Silent, it simply does not change. It does not matter where I try to change it from, e.g. the widget or from the power button menu.

I don't need it all the time but it would be useful when making working calls when on the road so that they don't have my personal cell # and nobody ever answers " unknown" so *67 isnt the key.
I also am not really interested in spoofing my number with a fake one or creating a Google voice (or similar account) and then having two phone #'s to worry about.
My new Nokia 6350 indicates "Camera on Standby" and I cannot get off it standby. I have
1. taken out the battery and
2. reset the phone.
On my lock screen, it has my current time and weather, which is lovely. But underneath, it also has the time for Taipei.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.

View 2 Replies View Relatedyesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
