As I understand this, I can change the default application here. But I can't. So I used a 3rd party software to install the generic PR 1.2 firmware (latest version), and it's working great, very happy .
Now I'm left wondering... How do I restore the operator firmware incase anything goes wrong with the phone? (and no, i didn't make a back-up). If I restore the phone to factory defaults, will this restore the operator firmware?

Things like the T-Mobile welcome animation when you switch it on and their horrible pink theme. (I can change the theme but I want to be rid of it...) I would also like the web browser to take notice of the home page I've set - at the moment it goes to T-Mobile's web offering no matter what I set it to.

I received a txt message from vodafone back in june that said to restart the phone to receive updated vodafone sime menu service. I dont know if it worked because i'm not sure where the sim menu is on the n900 but i'm curious if this is what has introduced the menu options above.
I should mention at this point that when i was in the US earlier this year, i was able to stop my phone looking for a gsm signal and concentrate on wifi only. Now i can't seem to find an option to turn of gsm. When selecting the network from the phone menu, i only get Dual, 3G and GSM.i don't get the wifi option anymore, hence me asking if this operator lock has interfered with it.Has anyone else got this and if it wasn't vodaphone, what is this operator lock?

And then replace the icons BatteryBG_1.png up to BatteryBG_17.png but after its done copying and replacing its still displaying the old green battery pic.
Any ideas whats up?

Apps that costed more that 5€, operator billing was not available, and even didn't showed on the billing options. I complained to Vodafone and they said that they will try to fix it, and acknowledge that the problem was in they're side.After some weeks, the operator billing option showed in all apps. But since then, it's impossible to buy apps, even if they cost only 1€.This problem happens since June, and is still not fixed. Now they also say that it's also a Nokia Ovi Store problem. So the problem is - how can i re-install previously purchased applications in ovi store?I thought it will be easy way, however it doesn't. Despite the fact that all of my previously purchased apps appeared in "My Stuff" section in Ovi Store applications, i cant download it, they only offer me to buy it again, I tried to solve this problem using pc, i wanted to download apps to pc from ovi store website and then move to phone. But all i can do - send a link to phone, and there i was offered to buy app again. It's just shocking omission of Ovi Store, that repels future purchases.
