I was on Verizon with a Droid 2 when you did the 2.3.3 test a couple of weeks ago. On 10/9/2011 I moved to Sprint and bought a Photon 4G. I just updated my HEX MEID in this forum profile. My phone did the initial reboot but came back with Update Failed.Update Motorola Software says. An Update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete. There is no indication anything is happening. It's been this way for close to an hour now.

I cleared out the OS (Wipe) and tried to load a new one. But, during the process connecting to JVM, my phone always restarts failing the whole process. I am using desktop manager btw.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.

The device works partially but I am missing key features like the browser. When connecting to the device through either the desktop software of the web, I enter the password, which appears to be accepted, then the device hangs again.I can't update or remove the software.I get connectivity through 3G but have no browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBold 9790, running 7.0.0.609. Desktop Software 7.1.0.32. Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1Per the subject, I cannot connect my 9790 to the Desktop Software via Bluetooth. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software (with a reboot inbetween) with success. When pairing the phone with Windows, it detects and attempts to install 3 drivers. The only one that is successful is the modem profile. No other drivers are installed. The Desktop Software does not see the phone. If I attempt to install the phone through the Desktop Software initially, it will see the phone, however the same problem occurs with the drivers.I should also note that the phone is set to always connect to the PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLike many of you , I'm having WiFi connection problems with my new BB9700.When I am out of the house, I can see my BB finding local WiFI hotspots and I can connect to them immediately. However, when I get home, my BB doesn't connect to my WiFi, returning the following error message:
Unable to Connect
Reason: Failed to obtain an IP address
I have downloaded the latest BB software (now running version 5.0.0.351), cold booted everything in sight (router, phone, coffee table and the cat) but still get the same error. My foot hurts, the cat isn't talking to me and I still cannot connect at home ! Of course my Carrier's connection works perfectly as does their outrageous fee structure... (They are 3G, or Hutchinson Telecom by another name.)My WiFi service provider (PCCW / Netvigator Hong Kong) has checked the setup of my system and reports that everything is working correctly. I can connect my PS3, my laptop, my Nokia E71 without any problem and the hotline guy can see when I connect each of them to the system.I have tried different combinations of switching the usual options on and off on the BB but still can't get a connection.
Last night I setup my phone to perform the new software update as I went to bed so that it would do it overnight. This morning? App error 602 and 603 with a white screen of death. When I turn the phone on it says backing up data (which I'm pretty sure it did completely last night), and it does not go progress... almost like there is no data to backup. I can't restore to factory defaults and I can't connect to the Desktop Manager for any period of time. I can't think of anything that I could do unless there was a way to restore the phone to factory defaults without the phone being turned on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated my BB 9700 for the first time (511 updates to be exact). The upgrade is currently at 11 out of 12 upgrades and it is taking about 45 minutes to initialize before it gives me the message: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device, you may need to enter a password on the device."
The BB is not asking for password and I do not have any password protection on it. I have unplugged the USB from computer and the phone, reconnected and clicked retry and it continues to give me the same message 45 minutes later. I am freaking out a bit because it cleared all my contacts off and I believe the process it is trying to do is to restore that information.
I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 that I have been using for about 8 months.
I generally sync it about once per day with Microsoft Outlook using the Desktop Manager through a USB connection.Today it would not sync! The PC recognized that I had plugged it in so I am assuming the USB cable is OK.The bar on top of the Desktop manager shows "Disconnected" and the bottom left corner of the Desktop Manager shows my connection as "none"If I try to sync it, a Device Connection box opens up asking for the PIN but does not allow me to type anything into the box.
I have rebooted both the Blackberry and PC a few times to see if this would solve my problem - did not work.
I have also tried other USB connections on my PC.
I have not loaded any new software onto the PC recently, my antivirus program is up to date.
I have read through the help files and cannot find anyway to get it to reconnect.
What do I have to do to get Connected? Do I have to reload the Desktop Manager software or ?
I bought one more C5 today and when I try to connect it to the pc via pc suite it says "Pc suite support installation failed" , I tried everything from reinstalling pc suite on pc, resetting phone but nothing working to let me restore the contacts from my previous C5 through Pc suite

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to update my phone on Blackberry Desktop software. When I connect it recognizes my phone's PIN but then asks me for a password. View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot find any OS 7.1 update available on my blackberry desktop manager. Is OS 7.1 already available in the Philippines for download?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed my BB Desktop Manager and first plugged in my Bold 9700, it asked if I would like to update various features on my phone, to which I accepted. The update froze- I can't remember quite at which stage but I recall it was at the end stages and the stage at which it froze started with JVM. After waiting an hour or so, I disconnected my Blackberry, not knowing what to do. The screen remained black and the red light started blinking.I looked up fixes for the problem and they seemed simple- one used JL_Cmdr to do a full wipe- but I am using Windows 7 and it isn't compatible. I get a brief command prompt screen for a half second before it closes.
The second fix involved using the command prompt to get to the Loader in the AppLoader file- but I ran into another problem- when trying to open Loader.exe, I got a "The Application Loader requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed." Then looking up THAT fix, I downloaded a new OS and redownloaded the Desktop Manager, but am getting the same error.
Annoying message displayed during the s6 start up?
"Failed to retrieve multimedia message please try later" is what it constantly displays.
As far i am aware i have deleted all old mms and have auto retrieve disabled on advice of the stage fright virus prevention, could it be that?
