The Last sync and Last backup dates don't update when I connect to BB desktop and do auto sync and backup. This causes backup to run every time I connect instead of weekly like I have it setup. If I do a manual sync the date updates but if I do a manual backup the date stays unchanged. I'm running desktop 6.0.0.43 and OS 5.0.0.886. Does anyone know how to cure this problem?

Quick question for anyone with the Curve 8530! What is the average time you get out of the battery? Mine is brand new, I turned Wifi off but I do SMS quite a bit. I'm getting about 1 to 1 1/2 days out of the battery. Just wondering if this is normal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI went to a different time zone last month and of course changed my clock on my Curve 8520 to that zone (6 hours ahead of my home zone EST). Of course when I returned I changed back. Since then every time I sync to my computer the zone changes to a different time (7 hours behind my zone). Also now after a sync when I click on the clock icon it shows 2 analog clocks. One large one with the new wrong time and a small one to the left showing the correct time. After I reset the time I get only one large analog clock showing the correct time until I resync again.I have checked and rechecked the settings. I have changed the date/time source setting from 'Blackberry' Network Time to 'Network' Time and this does not make any difference. I've pulled the battery. I've reset the sync maagement options.What a pain having to change the time every time I sync. I've called my service provider (rogers) and they went through the same steps I have already tried.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy wifes 8530 we just did the BB App World upgrade. Now we can't see or find the icon to open and use it. After being on the phone with Verizon for a while they contacted BB and this is what I was told to do.
-Download BB desktop manager on my computer
-Backup all data from the phone
-Do a hard reset which will delete all data from the phone
-Reinstall all data from desktop manager back to phone and then the icon should appear
Can you delete more than one email at a time from the Curve 8530?
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night my BB had a bit of a "moment" whereby for some strange reason, it changed the time and date of it's own accord to a future date in September, so my Twitter was showing tweets as "61 days ago" and my email was arriving with a future date showing.
It's back to normal now, (again, of it's own accord) apart from my emails - the ones I received are still showing as September which is rather annoying as I now have to scroll down to read new emails.Is there any way of changing the received date on them? I can't seem to find any option to do so. I know I could delete them but I kinda need them saved for now! Why did my BB do this in the first place?
I have the blackberry curve 8520 on tmobile and its been getting slow.I'll do a battery pull often. But then it takes forever to boot up. It took about 25 min to boot up But when I 1st got it, it took about 3-5 min to boot up.Can someone help me figure out how to fix this problem?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?

I was told my technical support that this is a known issue for this 8530 Curve. Did anyone know that? She said I cant do anything about it until RIM put out an update. she doesnt know when they will send the update out to all any work-arounds? anyone with this annoying issue? It stays charged throughout the day and only would run down - about 30% - 50% if I am talking on the phone while taking the train home (about 40 minutes). Since yesterday, it totally ran all the way down before 2 Pm without any unusual usage - just checking some emails occasionally. It was charged fully this morning and I took the charger to work with me and had to recharge it twice already. How do I find out if the battery is bad?

On the other hand, it connects to any other network: ive successfully connected to many friends wireless and many restaurants' wireless without any problem. Its worth mentioning that my BB used to connect fine with my homes wireless and i just woke up one day to find that it isnt working anymore (the wifi sign remains gray, in the "wifi connections" there is a connection and theres a white line in the black box instead of a tick.Is there any way to fix this?

They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
My husband got a curve 8530 the other day. All of the people in his address book have "classic ringer" as their custom ring tone along with the volume set about midway like its some kind of default setting. I have tried changing the profiles/ringtones and creating new ones (with different tones) this does not change the ringer for those 80+ people. In the Set Contact Alert menu there are only 3 people with a custom tone showing.The Classic Ring is not loud enough for him to hear and no matter how I try to change the default ringer it does not change the ring for the contact list.I've done a battery pull, no change.Updated it to newest OS.Contact list was imported from a Storm 2(he likes having actual buttons to push).
Am I missing something or 1) shouldn't all those people show up in the Set Contact Alert Menu, if there is a custom tone set up or 2) shouldn't their default change if I change the default for the phone.I haven't checked all of them, but did check at least 10 and regardless of what I do they're still the same. Ringer shows Classic all other options say active profile.Is there any way I can change their default ringer without having to give each one a custom ring--too time consuming?
I had a 8330 (for 2 months) that would reboot itself constantly. Does not do it anymore 'cause I returned it for a 8530. The 8530 that I've had since Jan 01 is better, it only does it now and then when it is tethered to my pc.. Rendering it just about useless for my business activities. US Cellular is at a loss. Should I accept this defect as part of the BB experience?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?

But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??
