View 5 RepliesThe BlackBerry desktop software does not recognize my 8310 after updating to 6.0.1. I am running Vista 64bit, SP2. When I go into the device manager it shows a yellow triangle and says I need to update my driver. Do I need to go back to an earlier version of desktop?

I have installed today the BB Desktop SW version 6.1.0.36 from BB website.It works fine with my old BB Curve 8900 palm phone, but does not recognize at all my newest BB Curve 9360 palm phone.In particular when I connect the BB device with the microUSB cable to the USB port of the PC, Windows 7 complains to have not installed properly the Device Driver of the BB palm phone.If I look at the PC Device Drivers Management I can see a BlacBerry driver version 4.2.0.14 of 23/06/2011 from research Un Motion.Windows complain that the device type is unknown, all what it says is "Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)".
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did a back up on my BB and after finished when I sync the BB it said that I required a software update which I did, Release 5.0.0.1168.However now, my BB doesn't recognize any SIM that I try to use in my BB, I lost all the data which is okay as I have a bakup and I can get it back but I cannot get my SIM working, it says all the time, insert SIM card even thought it is already inserted

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm writing from Austria, Europe. I just got my BlackBerry Curve 8900 few days ago, everything's fine, I like it a lot. I've got just a problem with the desktop manager software. I installed it through the CD delivered with my BlackBerry and got the newest version of the software through the internet as well. But somehow, when I open the Media Manager Section, I got a button to install the Media Manager, and when I click on it, it doesn't work. I tried it several times already, but I alsways get a notification, that there's a problem and I have to put the user tools CD or try it when I'm connected to the internet. I put the CD and I'm also always connected to the internet, but it doesn't work. So I can't put any media files into my BlackBerry.

now i'm assuming the device password is the same pwd that i use to unlock me device (and its the same pwd that i have to input every time i hook up my blackberry to my laptop)
so i'm entering that very same password but its giving me an incorrect pwd notification.
is there some other pwd that i'm supposed to configure on this ?
i have a blackberry 8900. i also have tonnes of phone numbers that i either need to edit (delete or add email ids to) but i simpy cant type them in manually one by one i know in nokia, there syn application is such that u can make the changes in the nokia pc app and it automatically syncs up with the blackberry.i used the blackberry desktop software, but unfortunately i did not see this functionality a) how can i work around this ? is there any such functionality in BB desktop software? b) are there are 3rd party software available for this ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up bluetooth synchronization for my 8900 now that I am no longer on a BES.I picked up an Asus USB BT-21 bluetooth adapter for my PC, which is apparently based on Broadcom hardware. I'm running Win7 64 bit and installed the Broadcom drivers for the adapter. Desktop manager manages to find every other blackberry in my building except for mine. At the bottom of the instructions, it says that a conflicting IT policy might be the cause of this problem. I am using the Blackberry 8900 Curve with Vodafone.
Like everyone else, I could not synchronise my blackberry with Outlook 2010 and was told to wait until August for version 6 of Desktop Manager.
I just installed it! But when I tried to launch Desktop Manager is simply says "Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and then I get " Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
I un-installed and reinstalled. No change.
Prior to downloading version 6 I had downloaded and installed version 5 with Service Pack - the file name was 501_b049_multilanguage. That one installed and launched but there was NO WAY to synchronise Blackberry Curve 8900 with Outlook 2010!
My PC is brand new and "TOTALLY CLEAN" of any special install. The only application running on this laptop other than Microsoft Windows 7 (32 bit) and Microsoft Office 2010 (including Outlook 2010) are McAfee (which I disabled to ensure this was not the reason desktop manager would not work!) and an HP all in one printer!
IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE MONTH since Microsoft launched Outlook 2010, not sure what the issue is but both Desktop Manager 5 and Desktop Manager 6 have VERY SERIOUS ISSUES which should have been screened through QA.
Can someone help? Getting error message saying "You cannot save your backup file to \network folder name . Please select a different folder with write permissions." I can write to the folder selected, but the software can't. It did on all my other versions of BB Desktop.Can only save to local C drive.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I have the BlackBerry Curve 8900 for AT&T and I have recently noticed that there is a 5.0 Update for basically the most recent BlackBerry's that have came out and I wanted to know if I will be able to get this 5.0 Update because it looks much better then the regular Version you get when you get the BlackBerry Curve 8900.

View 2 Replies View Relatedit seems with my new 8900 i picked up i cannot update to any os other than stock 4.6 ver(.231) or downgrade to(.114) to any other version. I have reinstalled dm to the current version and still nothing. I have download multiple new 5.0 os(.348-.411) and deleted the vendor file and when i plug the berry in after installation it goes to check for a update and it does not find any. If you then try to go thru dm and update software it only has those two older versions listed even though i installed the newer ones.

On my new Windows 7 machine, I've downloaded Desktop Manager 6.0, installed it, but when I plug in my phone into the computer, the Summary page in DTM still says "Connect your BlackBerry device". I know my computer recognizes my BB, because I can see it listed as 2 drives under My Computer (BB and my removable memory card). How can I get DTM to recognize my phone?

I just did an upgrade from OS 5.0.0.411 to 5.0.0.461 by wiping the old OS with JL_Cmder. After installing the new OS, I lost all my third party program including the -what I thought should be the default applications- memopad, task, password keeper, and documents togo. I dont care about the other third party applications, but how do I get back my memopad, task, password keeper, and documents togo ??Please I need help badly, I keep my important infos in those applications.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI see there are some other threads about this point, and recomended links for reading articles on the knowledge databases (some links are not working). In my case, may be, the problem is my Windows Vista is not using the Blackberry USB driver; instead, it uses a standard usb driver. I tried to update it in the Device Manager, by selecting the ones that is found in program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionUSB Drivers, but the process always finishes telling me the driver is up to date. The result is, Windows recognices the unit, even if I connect it as a USB unit, and if I connect it for Multimedia sincronization; but BB Desktop Manager does not see it.
I also tried downloading and installing BB USB and Modem drivers from the BB downloads, but that didnīt change anithing.I think this is the source of my problem, because most documents in the knowledge database says I have to see the BB USB driver on de Device Manager.How can I force Windows to use BB USB driver?
My expensive copy of MS Office Pro 2000 still suits my needs at home, but apparently to use Outlook 2000, you need DM 4.2.2. This is for my wife's BB. Can someone help me score some points with the Mrs. and help me find v4.2.2 or how to get v4.6 - v5.0 to recognize Outlook 2000? Thanks.

I have reloaded the software on this PC but my USB ports are working fine. I have reloaded the software 3 times. Also, using the desktop loader on the phone is indicates no option for the 9670 phone.
