BB Desktop Software :: How Can I Get DTM To Recognize My Phone
Aug 22, 2010
I've recently upgraded my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7, and on my original XP machine, I had DTM installed and it worked just fine with my Bold 9000. On my new Windows 7 machine, I've downloaded Desktop Manager 6.0, installed it, but when I plug in my phone into the computer, the Summary page in DTM still says "Connect your BlackBerry device". I know my computer recognizes my BB, because I can see it listed as 2 drives under My Computer (BB and my removable memory card). How can I get DTM to recognize my phone?
I have a Windows 7 PC (64 bits). I have installed today the BB Desktop SW version 6.1.0.36 from BB website. It works fine with my old BB Curve 8900 palm phone, but does not recognize at all my newest BB Curve 9360 palm phone. In particular when I connect the BB device with the microUSB cable to the USB port of the PC, Windows 7 complains to have not installed properly the Device Driver of the BB palm phone. If I look at the PC Device Drivers Management I can see a BlacBerry driver version 4.2.0.14 of 23/06/2011 from research Un Motion.Windows complain that the device type is unknown, all what it says is "Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)".
I have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.
Under <Options> <Memory> I can see and reformat my 2GB memory card. However the Blackberry Desktop does not recognize the media card. I always get the message:"Your Media cannot be synchronized. ... Consider using a media card with your device."I have tried evry combination of <Memory> setting on the Blackberry and followed the instructions in the Blackberry help to no avail.
this might be an old issue but: bb curve 8330 from sprint compaq laptop with vista hb PROBLEM COMPUTER compaq desktop w/ XP WORKS FINE dtm will not recognize it it used to but went through back-up ok & sync to 75% and then dtm would quit and close uninstalled 4.7 & reinstalled 5x in 3 months no help for more than a week at a time uninstalled 4.7 & installed 5.0 nodda will not see bb it is in device mgr have tried windows update, sequences from top 10 bb know issues, and 3-4 others i found on this forum A) is there anything that can fix? B) does rim ever fix anything? (seen a lot of unresolved frustration on here)
I see there are some other threads about this point, and recomended links for reading articles on the knowledge databases (some links are not working). In my case, may be, the problem is my Windows Vista is not using the Blackberry USB driver; instead, it uses a standard usb driver. I tried to update it in the Device Manager, by selecting the ones that is found in program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionUSB Drivers, but the process always finishes telling me the driver is up to date. The result is, Windows recognices the unit, even if I connect it as a USB unit, and if I connect it for Multimedia sincronization; but BB Desktop Manager does not see it.
I also tried downloading and installing BB USB and Modem drivers from the BB downloads, but that didnīt change anithing.I think this is the source of my problem, because most documents in the knowledge database says I have to see the BB USB driver on de Device Manager. How can I force Windows to use BB USB driver?
My expensive copy of MS Office Pro 2000 still suits my needs at home, but apparently to use Outlook 2000, you need DM 4.2.2. This is for my wife's BB. Can someone help me score some points with the Mrs. and help me find v4.2.2 or how to get v4.6 - v5.0 to recognize Outlook 2000? Thanks.
I am a seasoned BB user, I cannot get the desktop manager to recognize my new Style. I believe that it could be a driver issue because it wont recognize my Bold either. I have reloaded the software on this PC but my USB ports are working fine. I have reloaded the software 3 times. Also, using the desktop loader on the phone is indicates no option for the 9670 phone.
The BlackBerry desktop software does not recognize my 8310 after updating to 6.0.1. I am running Vista 64bit, SP2. When I go into the device manager it shows a yellow triangle and says I need to update my driver. Do I need to go back to an earlier version of desktop?
My computer shows the connection to my BB when connected by USB but the BB desktop software and BB desktop manager do not recognize the connection and therefor can no longer synchronize
Just got this BB from Verizon, everything works fine but when I plug it into my PC the Desktop Manager software is a mess. I'm running Win XP. I've double checked all the USB connections, uninstalled and reinstalled the the BB software and taken the BB battery out and put it back, so it's none of those things. I brought the BB back to Verizon they said "it's working fine, must be a driver or something, duh".
When I plug in the BB and bring up Desktop Manager sometimes the BB is recognized sometimes not. When I try to use the Roxio Media Manager it comes halfway up but the hourglass cursor never goes away and it just sits there thinking for hours. Sometimes I get a pop up saying " First Time Configuration...., it won't let hit any of the choices, I just have the hourglass thinking. I always have to hit Ctl, Alt, Del and call up my task manager to quite the program because the hourglass never turns back into the cursor. I just want to manage my media. This is very frustrating.
9780 started overheating. Display black but possible to read error 507 message. Desktop software does not recognize plugged in device. When battery is insert device still overheats. What to do?
I'm running v5.0.1 of the DM.Memory/Storage card options are all set to on. When I click Media Sync, the BB momentarily flicks then reverts back to the previous display. Media Sync, animates with the left and right arrows, then eventually times out with the 'did not recognize device' message. The device does not appear in Windows 7 Explorer.
I've spent a week trying to get the desktop manager to detect my curve 8530 to no avail My pc windows xp professional detects it but not the manager Ive tried what i could find on blackberry forums as well as my providers support forums and nothings worked is there anything else i can do.
So I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook. So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).
While trying to fix an "App Error 523 reset" problem, I came across a (seemingly) very helpful post on this forum. However, I got stuck on step one because I have not yet used the Desktop Manager, and cannot figure out how to get past the initial DM welcome screen with my broken phone. My phone won't currently connect to DM because the phone can't properly start up. I need to get into Desktop Manager to access the Application Loader to fix my app error 523 problem.
I cannot get the new software to reconize my media files installed on the internal memory. In the drop down menu it says MEDIA OPTIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I do not use a media card at this time. I did not have this problem with the former version of the desktop software.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I have the HTC one m8 with T-Mobile, have had it for about six months now. Pretty eh phone over all, crappy camera, crappy battery, nothing particularly awful, just irritating. and its never recognized my sd card. But It wasn't ever a problem, I still could save things and download stuff, whatever. But now I can't access any of my saved things like game progress. Some games I can, others only work when I'm not at home, like at school.
I don't do anything weird with my phone, or try to upgrade it myself. I take it out of the box and go.
I've tried everything that doesn't involve erasing all of my crap. I've removed it, restarted, the tape thing, I tried al. These things at school too and nothing.
It worked fine less then a week ago, I updated it, and now Its basically useless for anything besides phone calls and the internet.
I'm having some issues on transferring files from my computer to my Galaxy S5 (SM-G900M) running Android 5.0. The strange part is that when i put it on Download mode Odin recognizes it perfectly, but when it is turned on, i can't even select between MTP and camera mode because the phone doesn't identify the connection, nor does the computer. Also, my phone does not recognize any of the SD cards i insert on it.
I've tried changing cables, updating and downgrading android and nothing makes it recognize both usb connections and SD card. There is a way to force connection somehow?
I just bought a new 130GB class 10 PNY SD card for my T Mobile G4 and at first it was working fine. Then which I was transferring music files to the SD card it had a random error, and now the G4 won't recognize it. If I put in a different SD card it works, and my PC sees the PNY card. I've tried reformatting it to NTSC and Fat32 with no luck. The PNY card isn't corrupted according to my PC.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
I just updated the Nokia Updater software after being prompted to do so, and now my PC doesn't recognise my phone (xpressmusic 5530) when I plug it in.Windows asks for software, but the only disc I received with the phone was the Ovi Suite, which does nothing to (re) install what's needed for the phone. When I plug the phone into the USB the phone itself asks which connection I want (PC Suite / Mass storage etc) but the PC now doesn't recognise it.
I bought an iPhone 3G from someone the other day, and I went to Settings>Delete all contents or whatever it's called. While it was recovering/deleting stuff, I decided I would just put it into recovery mode and connect it to iTunes to restore it. The problem is, my computer/iTunes won't recognize the phone, and it won't go into DFU mode. I am on a Mac because my computer broke, and I don't know much about Mac's so maybe there is a way to get the phone to be recognized? The phone is on 3.1.2 and the computer has the newest iTunes version.
I was trying to jailbreak it with blackra1n as well, and blackra1n won't recognize the phone either.
