View 9 RepliesMy X10 is plugged into my computer through a usb cable, but my computer doesn't realize that it's connected. I've connected my phone before, but this is the first time that's it's happened. I'm pretty sure the fault lies with my computer, because my phone charges when I plug it in. I've tried plugging into every usb port that my computer has, and it doesn't make a difference. Usually, when I plug my phone in, it notifies me that it's connected to something, and it asks if I want to "mount" a connnection with it or not, it's not doing this anymore, and neither is my computer notifying me that something is plugged into it.

I got my iPhone 4s back in October, and it worked just fine when syncing with iTunes and all that. Recently however, like in the last 3 weeks or so, whenever I try to plug it into the computer, my computer won't recognize it. It dings like I've inserted a USB, but it doesn't show up in "My Computer" or iTunes, and does not charge. I have tried two different cords. I tried plugging it in on my dad's Macbook, and it was recognized immediately, so I don't think it is the phone. I followed all the steps listed on the Apple technical website, and nothing has worked. I've restarted my phone, reset my phone, updated iTunes and restarted my computer, but to no avail. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W510 and am running Windows 7. It charges just fine when plugged into the wall using the same cord. Other USB's work fine when plugged into the computer.

Why I first bought my Verizon 8gig iPhone 4, I plugged it into my laptop and began following all the steps to link it to my itunes( upgraded from black 8gig i4 to this white one) it was working fine, and my laptop died halfway through the process. Ever since my laptop never even made the noise when I plugged it in. It wasn't a huge issue, as I only used my phone for pictures, texting, and calls, and facebook, but now my memory is full and I need to get files off it. I borrowed my girl's laptop and i found out that it doesn't get recognition from ANY computer.

I'm trying to connect my phone to my computer for the first time, and I'm not having any luck. I've tried my computer and my boyfriend's computer, and it doesn't work on either. When I plug it in to the USB, it charges, so I don't think it's a problem with the cord. The troubleshooting portion of the BlackBerry desktop manager isn't much help, as I don't know how to do?

I just bought an Iphone 4s and as my mac is pretty old (10.4.11), it doesn't seem to want to connect to Itunes version 9.2.1 (4)). My computer won't support a newer version of Itunes. So it seems my computer is too out of date to support my phone. I'm a little lost at what to do next. I tried all of the troubleshooting as well as the post-troubleshooting options I found and nothing works. Any way around all of this without buying a new computer or completely revamping my current one?
