Aug 21, 2012I am receiving no notification of incoming text messages. Contacts will ask me why I didn't respond to a text. When I check the box, the message is there and marked as read, but I never received any notification of receiving it. I have had the phone 2 months and this seems to have started about a month ago.
I have not installed any 3rd party apps other than the ones provided by Verizon. I have not configured it to receive email. I don't use it for Facebook or any other social networking app. I have tried a number of battery pulls.

May 30, 2012I have downloaded the blackberry desktop software to update my software then plugged in my phone. It automatically begins to back up but freezes at RMS databases 12 of 13 records. I ctrl, alt, del to end program then have to take my battery out of phone to get it to work again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop software but it just keeps freezzing. This is driving me insane as I am not technically minded.

The directions given suggest going to the Calendar application and/or Contacts application on my phone and "press the Menu key then Options and then change the Wireless Synchronization field to No." But, that is not one of the options in either of the applications.

Nov 8, 2011Since the last update of the appworld application (around one week ago) I encounter some problems with its search feature. Indeed, when I enter a keyword in the search field, it sends me back the result by categories (News/Games/My World...). And if I click on any categories to get the details of applications found, the appworld application freezes. I must click on the back/return key to regain control so I never have the result of what I searched.
So each time I need a new application by searching, I must use the web blackberry site and a QR code scanner. And, regarding this point, I have another question: could you explain me why I'm not able to install some basic applications on my recent BB like "yahoo!", "viigo" or one of the RIM gift "bejeweled" ? When I try to install them, appworld answers "this application is not available for this terminal" (translation from french message). I'm very surprised that those application are not available on one of the most recent device and with the last OS.

Nov 15, 2010I follow the instructions however when I plug the phone back in, holding down the backup button, nothing happens.The computer tells me it notices a semc flash device, however the computer freezes and the phone itself just goes to the battery charge screen.I have to disconnect the phone and reboot the computer. Luckily the phone still has all its information when I turn it on again.

May 5, 2010So, I'm pretty sure my phone is fried - thanks to the wireless software update that my phone told me to download yesterday from Blackberry.Little update icon pops up on the screen telling me that there's a software upgrade of high importance so I tell it to download over the air. About half an hour later, my phone starts flashing and comes up with a quick screen that says "rolling back java" with a status bar that stays at 99% and then power cycles and does the same thing. I had to take the battery out - it's power cycling every minute at least. It won't do anything else, and my blackberry desktop software doesn't recognize it. I left the battery out overnight so the power cycling didn't drain the battery and as soon as I put the battery back in, it just goes back to its little java msg and power cycling.Any ideas? I will be taking it in to Telus later today. I'm assuming that it will have to be sent away and re-flashed and I will have lost everything on it.

I have a 2 year license for navigation for Southern Africa. Since the map update the phone will freeze when trying to calculate a route. You select your destination and when you select "Drive to" it goes back to the map, "Calculating route" appears in the top left corner and the map occasionally spins from North orientation and back again.I tried to restore a backup that I did before I undertook all these changes but it has made no difference to the map. I noticed on the new maps that there are dotted lines in the middle of the roads on the map. These did not appear on the previous map version that I had. The version I updated to is v2.0 wk24 b02.

Aug 3, 2011I tried to update from 6.0 Bundle 2342 to 6.0 Bundle 2647 and during the installation, it will update to a certain module and then freeze. An hour later, I will get a pop up that says there is a problem with my internet connection and the options to retry or cancel. I hit retry and the update will run a little further, then freeze again. At this point it's been 3 hours, and I've gotten as far as 357 of 578. This is the first time I've tried to update, and I did a back up right before I attempted this update.

Mar 22, 2015Encountering screen freezes since the update? Sometimes it won't let me out of an app or even the app drawer. Just tried to open Photos while unrelated app updates were downloading and just got a white screen and then had a hard time getting out. Had to reboot the phone.
On a possibly related matter, when streaming Play Music via bluetooth in my car (Honda Civic) the app will not shut down when I shut the stereo off. Just stays open and paused. It worked fine before either 5.1 or the last Play Music update. I am not sure which as I got them around the same time.
