I follow the instructions however when I plug the phone back in, holding down the backup button, nothing happens.The computer tells me it notices a semc flash device, however the computer freezes and the phone itself just goes to the battery charge screen.I have to disconnect the phone and reboot the computer. Luckily the phone still has all its information when I turn it on again.
View 2 RepliesMy Xperia Mini Pro has a fault with the keyboard - when I slide it out it activates, ie the background light comes on but then it goes out. Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. I've tried updating the software but that didn't help.

My OS is windows XP and I have tried both PC companion and SE Update service for the upgrade. When it comes to the part where I have to "turn off the phone...wait for 5 or 30 secs, connect the cables etc then press the back button while inserting the microUSB into the phone"....then nothing happens. My computer just freezes after a few minutes with nothing indicating on the screen that something...anything is going on. I have tried this several times and for several days already.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi used my sony pc commpanion to try to upgrade my sony erricson mini pro (sk17i) to the new ics OS . halfway thru the download i get a screen which says softare update failure. thats like half an hour thru the downloading process. my si nummber is liisted on the sony website for the official upgrade. (1249-0761). A company of sony s repute really needs to offer better customer service.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically I updated my girlfriend's Mini Pro (Hong Kong SI) the other day with SUS to ICS (4.0.4); did the clean wipe and update option. Everything has been working fine with much improved browser speed etc, however, today the camera just stopped working.Literally, the camera app draws a blank and 3rd party Camera apps just say cannot connect to camera. The only solution was a manual reboot of the phone. Is this a common for others who've updated to ICS?

I connect my phone via cable and choose connectivity mode MEDIA TRANSFER. Every time PC will start to install that MTP driver. Sometimes it goes successfully but mostly unsuccesfully.I have remove every Nokia software and drivers from my computer and resetting my phone. I have tried to do this same thing in several computers, Win7, Vista and XP. Allways same thing...

VZW Support Twitter response: There are updates in the testing phase by VZW and others Motorola is still investigating. A patch should be released soon.
I've been trying for ages to update my phone system to the above but it's not letting me.

I have tried turning it off and on again from the sim slot, turned it off with power and volume +, i have tried the companion app but it dosent regonize the phone as a phone or anything else. it just deletes everything else but support zone and media go. the support zone dosent contain anything else than the back button and media go is just media go. what should i do?

I followed the instructions and took backup in the third step after downloading new software while updating a popup window appeared "unable to Update try later" the phone is still connected to the PC and Internet connection is also fine. I have disconnected from PC then it is asking for step 3(switch off phone then press and hold back button step) again did that no Luck. Now the phone is not starting at all I think it formatted all the software..My phone is almost in dead condition. Now if I connected to the PC it is not detecting as a mass storage also and PC companion is not at all recognizing.

Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.

A few hours later, it remained at 35% indication.Since this couldn't be correct, i restarted the phone. Now, my battery indication was 100%. False again.I turned the phone off. It wouldn't restart.I tried the 'flash device method' by holding back button and putting in computer USB. No help.I tried SEUS. After that, phone switched back on, with false battery indication back to 100%, which is impossible.I noticed that during all this 'fun stuff', my battery refuses to charge. The LED indicator remains green without flashing, the settings screen doesnt say 'charging'. I know that the phone won't charge below 95% battery.So, the phone thinks the battery is 100%, therefore won't charge, and I'm pretty screwed, especially since I fear that once my battery drops dead, the phone won't be able to charge ever since it will think its 100% full...
Can i connect usb flash drive through usb mini port of my phone and usb mini to usb cable and view files of flash drive on phone..?

A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once.
