I get an error if i want to make a backup with the Sony PC Companion because my phones memory is encrypted. I have not encrypted my phones memory so how do i decrypt my phones memory.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.

I connect it using PC Companion, it says my phone has 0 bytes memory left, I deleted some stuff and same. No matter what I do I have 0 bytes free left in my phone, so I can't update my phone, and so I can't get rid of the stupid notification in the phone as well.Â

2) I tried to backup my photos from the phone, opened "File Manager" via PC Companion, looked into the "Pictures" folder but it's only showing 2% of all my photos in the phone. Clicked on literally every single folders and still can't find the first of the pictures.
Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.

It started backing up my data first, it however stopped backing up data when the power in the phone went out, and didn't continue upon me putting it on charge and has been stopped the process altogether, it has been at 10% of backing up process for two days straight.

Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed.After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds.When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring the firmware update process on PC Companion, I deliberately unplugged the phone and my PC now no longer recognizes the phone for performing an update again. Tried installing the firmware, holding the Back key while plugging into the computer etc but still it does not appear as connected. All I can see again and again is a block of color appeared at the bottom of the screen as shown in the photo attached. Have tried a hard reset by holding the left, right and power button at the same time but did not help too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to update my software on my xperia x10... so i tried to open my pc companion and remembered why i hadnt updated it before ... because the pc companion will not work! so i downloaded the pc companion again and guess what, it doesnt work.It downloads fine and then when i try to run it, it says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program". so i do this and try again and it still says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program".I have spent the last three hours resarting my computer making sure all my programs were shut.
Would anyone be able to assist, since it doesn't seem like you can open a support call directly with SE. I am simply trying to update my Experia X10 software and even though I am connected to the internet (and can browse and download anything from anywhere) I can't use the PC Companion software to update my phone. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it (ver 2.0) and still it fails. It simply says 'unable to install or start phone software update components.'

I've gone through all the steps and phases and the software is telling me it's up to date yet there are no changes to my phone at all except the wiping of all my files that I've backed up. The phone is still on 1.6, I still have only 3 home screens and everything else is the same. I've gone through the update twice now and nothing has changed.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't synchronize my X10 (Andoid 2.1) with PC Companion via bluetooth despite being able to synchronoze the same phone with the same software (PC Companion). I start PC Companion and select to connect the phone via bluetooth and following the on-line instruction and manage to pair the phone but recieve an error message almost directly that PC Companion is not able to connect to the phone at this time and I am asked to try again later. According to X10 the pairing is succesful.
I have tried with two different computers with exactly the same result. When I check for software updates both the phone and PC Companion are reported to be of the latest versions. Furthermore, I have another phone, a SE Satio, and I am able to succesfully sync the Satio with the same laptop and the same PC Companion software; this indicates to me that the problem is not with the laptop, bluetooth or PC Companion. It strongly indicates a bug in the X10.
I'm getting really, really frustrated. PC Companion use to detect my phone, but no longer does. I've connected by bluetooth, but this is inconsistent. I know the drivers are downloaded with PC Companion, but uninstalling, installing, searching for drivers hasn't worked.

View 4 Replies View RelatedPC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to the latest PC Companion software and am trying to sync contact and calenda data with Google via the 'Sync Zone'. Contacts sync works fine however the calendar sync caused PC cpmanion to crash every time. It says it is reading the PC (Outlook) data and counter reaches 1024 calendar appointments and crashes every time. Even when I tell it so sync just the calendar and only 1 week either side of now it still counts up to 1024 and crashes.I am using Windows 7 and an Xperia X10i with the lasted SE updates.
