I'm getting really, really frustrated. PC Companion use to detect my phone, but no longer does. I've connected by bluetooth, but this is inconsistent. I know the drivers are downloaded with PC Companion, but uninstalling, installing, searching for drivers hasn't worked.
View 3 RepliesPC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.

Nothing works for me. So please provide any solution if it is actually solves my problem.My problem is one fine bad day, I connected my xperia neo where PC companion is installed on windows xp is not detecting my phone.It rotates rotates rotates and finally says unable to detect phone. and asks to reconnect again.
Nothing was changed in phone or in my pc for this issue. I have tried almost all (mpt clean/cache clean/stop & start, windows media player reinstall, pc companion reintall , update service) etc etc. One thing observed is whenever I clean mtp service and stop service and connects with usb, pc companion is detecting for first time. When I remove again and reconnect, it stops recognizing phone again. CAN I GET A RIGHT SOLUTION ??How can I update to ICS if usb connection is not detecting??? And I don't have blutook in my laptop.
1) For some reason this time the phone insists for me to update using PC. I connect it using PC Companion, it says my phone has 0 bytes memory left, I deleted some stuff and same. No matter what I do I have 0 bytes free left in my phone, so I can't update my phone, and so I can't get rid of the stupid notification in the phone as well.Â

2) I tried to backup my photos from the phone, opened "File Manager" via PC Companion, looked into the "Pictures" folder but it's only showing 2% of all my photos in the phone. Clicked on literally every single folders and still can't find the first of the pictures.
I have not been able to connect the phone since the windows 10 upgrade. It never finds the device.

We don't have connection in subway, so pretty much every time I am out of the tunnel and find connection I get a reboot. It doesn't happen every time though, on some occasions it doesn't reboot.I thinl after last update it started happening more often, but I am not really sure about that since I noticed some occasional reboots before, but didn't put the getting out of tunnel and reboot together and after it happened several times I noticed.

1. I got an app called rocket player with a lot of music, yet sony music app seems to think there are no songs on my phone.
2. when i open rocket player and select song and state use as ringtone and then check it in setting its still the previous/ original ringtone from the device, i press the top right and again no songs displayed.
3. I have same isue with photos, I have downloaded images from my dropbox saved on to device and sony ablum app will not display any of my photos. Today my mrs sent me a lot of photos through whats app and NONE show in sony ablum. I even created 2 folders in sony album went to file commander and moved some photos into the two folder locations, open sony album and again NOTHING apart from orginal photos either taken by phone camera or screenshots.
I cannot install PC companion from either of two laptops - am just getting "404 - not found". Might this be a security/firewall problem? I am running Kaspersky anti-virus plus Tune-up Utilities.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't install PC companion 2.10.027 on my Windows 7 Ultimate / 64bit system.Until this version was released I was using version 2.02.002 and it was OK. Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed.After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds.When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring the firmware update process on PC Companion, I deliberately unplugged the phone and my PC now no longer recognizes the phone for performing an update again. Tried installing the firmware, holding the Back key while plugging into the computer etc but still it does not appear as connected. All I can see again and again is a block of color appeared at the bottom of the screen as shown in the photo attached. Have tried a hard reset by holding the left, right and power button at the same time but did not help too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to update my software on my xperia x10... so i tried to open my pc companion and remembered why i hadnt updated it before ... because the pc companion will not work! so i downloaded the pc companion again and guess what, it doesnt work.It downloads fine and then when i try to run it, it says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program". so i do this and try again and it still says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program".I have spent the last three hours resarting my computer making sure all my programs were shut.
Would anyone be able to assist, since it doesn't seem like you can open a support call directly with SE. I am simply trying to update my Experia X10 software and even though I am connected to the internet (and can browse and download anything from anywhere) I can't use the PC Companion software to update my phone. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it (ver 2.0) and still it fails. It simply says 'unable to install or start phone software update components.'

I've gone through all the steps and phases and the software is telling me it's up to date yet there are no changes to my phone at all except the wiping of all my files that I've backed up. The phone is still on 1.6, I still have only 3 home screens and everything else is the same. I've gone through the update twice now and nothing has changed.
