Google Nexus 5 :: Windows PC Will Not Recognize Phone Connection
Nov 16, 2015So, a month or so ago I updated my phone to L without a hitch. This morning, I tried to begin moving to M, but I can't get my computer to recognize that the phone is connected to a USB port.
I'm running the latest Win 7 Pro build (current patches), I've tried using every USB port on the box, and I've tried four different cables. The Nexus will charge off the USB, but the PC will not connect to it, so I can't perform any of the flashing commands. Dev options are set on the phone, ofc.
I should note that I can't get the Device Manager to see anything connected, either, so it's not trying to update drivers or anything. Besides, I believe those are current, since everything worked a month ago.

Feb 25, 2014This is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.

Nov 5, 2013Having issues with their Nexus 5 not finding their 5ghz Wifi network?My N7 does have some issues however if I toggle the airplane mode on it, it will find and connect the 5ghz network.However, on the N5 toggling airplane mode, restarting the phone, nothing seems to find it.The network is not hidden, though did try just entering the WiFi information to the phone to give it a try and it still didn't find or connect.I downloaded Wifi analyzer and it won't find the network either.

With my Windows Phone, one thing I used to use a lot was the calendars. Whatever I would put in my phone would go onto my Calendars app in my Windows 8 laptop and reversal. It'll popup and give me notifications. With Android, I have noticed I can't do that. I am now using Google Calendars. Google Nexus 5 :: Phone Doesn't Ask For Google Credentials After Many Unlock Attempts
Aug 22, 2015I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

Dec 29, 2015It's been about 4 years since I had an Android phone (back from the dark side) and I am getting our shared calendar setup.
My Windows Google calendar to my wife's Windows Google calendar is fine, syncs within 20-30 seconds. Seems like the sync to her Note5 and my S6 is so slow that to be sure we are getting the calendar updates we have to go in and manually sync the Google account on each phone. This process takes a good 5 mins and is not ideal to be doing it all day long to ensure we have the latest events.
Is there something I can check/change to get the sync to happen a bit more automatically/frequently on the phones?

Nov 29, 2015when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.

I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Jan 18, 2015Around a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.
