View 15 Repliesso every now and then I'll be having a conversation and I'll get a call or text and my phone is not on silent or vibrate and my favorite ringtone starts blaring. Since I'm in the middle of a conversion I'd like to just reach into my pocket, hit one of the buttons and stop the ringtone/notification from playing. This doesn't seem to work out of the box. I'm a bit new to android phones (finally got fed up with iPhone) so I know there is probably an app or setting that will let me do this, but I can't find it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.

[URL] ....
I didn't notice until today, but I had not tried it before either. Normal recording with voice or music in the background is perfectly ok.
My carrier is Tmobile. I'd like to block a few numbers that keep calling me (Sirus XM, insurance sales,...).

View 1 Replies View Relatedupdating my Nexus 5 to marshmellow has left it stuck at the boot animation. I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Kwongger's NEXUS 5 Toolkit v2.2 completed successfully but didn't improve anything. Trying to flash Cyanogenmod I run into adb "unauthorised". The device had usb debugging enabled and the RSA key of the PC was accepted but after multiple factory resets it appears to be gone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed over the last week or so that my N5 gets hot when I browse the web for a few seconds. It gets insanely hot when I try to use navigation as well. I've never had a phone get this hot, this often. It seems like the simplest task makes the device very warm.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAround a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.
Any way in order to know the model of nexus 5 ( D820 or D821 )?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought my nexus phone recently. The phone used to become a little hot and it became worse after the updates. I have restored it to previous version and also have changed the battery. This went on for a few more days. Now my nexus 5 doesn't switch on and neither does it indicate that the battery is charging even after I keep it plugged on for a long time. I've done everything possible. Even the service centre couldn't come up with the solution.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I plugged my Nexus 5 into the phone charger last night it kept turning off and then it kept trying to turn back on again but it would usually only make it to the Google startup logo. I unplugged it and still got the same results. Today I tried turning it on a few times.
Finally it began to work but it started up resetting itself as a new phone. Therefore I lost all of my apps, settings, photos, and text messages.
From yest evening, wen my battery drained out, i kept my Nexus 5 for charging, and wen i kept for charging phone is switching on n restarting automatic, confused a lot, took it to LG servicing center(rajajinagar), they said mother board gone kaput for mother board they told me the cost will be 14k...
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect the phone to the compute w/ a USB cable (yes, the one that came with it), the computer does not recognize it as a device. I've checked and the phone's settings as "Connect as:
Media Device (MTP)" checked.
When I connect it, it shows in the Device Manager as "Android Device -> Google Nexus ADB Interface"; but the computer can't access it via MTP, and ADB lists no devices.
It usually happens when I'm playing a very graphic intense game. Annoying enough... But last night I noticed it getting hot and I was just surfing the web!? The screen is approaching too hot to touch temperature! I drilled a big long slit in my case to let it breathe better. And I have a tempered glass screen protector.
