Google Nexus 5 :: Any Way To Keep LTE On During Phone Call?
Jan 20, 2014
I don't know if is the phone or Sprint, but there's any way to keep LTE on while on a phone call. I know my galaxy 1 and my IPhone 5s the LTE stay on during phone calls.
When I make or receive a call, if I take the phone away from my ear, I cannot access phone app to place call on speaker, access keypad, or end call. This has happened since the latest Android up update. Using Nexus 5.
Is it just me or does WiFi turn off when you get an incoming phone call? When I am at home, I am hooked up to wifi. When I get a call on my N5, I can see the wifi disconnect, it connects to LTE, then the phone rings. When I hang up, WiFi will reconnect.
I got my N5 since 2 months (and love it), but i got this weird sound coming almost every time i phone... It's hard to describe but, most of the time, it consists of 3 small quick "knocking" sounds... it happens like 1 min after the call begins, and happens mostly one time (one series of 3 knock knock knock)...
When I take/get a phone call my display stays black when i remove it from my ear for at least 5 seconds even pressing the power button doesnt wake it up ... I am on stock 6.0 but i also got that problem on cm12,1
I just got a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 yesterday (graduated from a 3 year old Samsung Ace so I am a little overwhelmed by the fancy new phone!!). I can't seem to find a call log anywhere? When I hit the phone symbol, it brings up the 'speed dial' screen with the most frequently called contacts, but there doesn't seem to be the typical call history with calls made, missed calls etc....or at least I can't find it!! I missed a few calls today and after the notification disappeared I can't find the numbers again!
If I am using another app and receive a phone call, I am not able to answer it. The navigation buttons stop responding and the pull down drawer won't allow me to answer. I noticed this behavior over the last few weeks.
Is there any way to turn on notification sounds (for new text msg or email etc.) during phone calls?
I find myself constantly taking my phone away from my ear during calls to check if there are any new notifications since the sounds get muted during call and find this kind of annoying. Seems like this should be a standard option, no?
When trying to answer a call on my Nexus5 and it is locked . It will let me send text messages ( I am driving , etc) but will not let me answer the phone. Insufficient resources go to theme menu and reset. I cannot find a theme menu anywhere. Not in settings, nor elsewhere, any way other than factory reset?
For months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.
after update to 5.0 (or after reset) is volume during call very low. Although the volume button is on 'maximum' I am not able to hear someone if I am outside. Ofc in quiet room I can hear something. Nexus 5 like this is unusable now.
When I use the volume rocker (I'm on Lollipop) to go down to vibrate, notifications vibrate and make no sound, but if a call comes through, it turns off vibrate and rings with the ring tone.
How do you, in a simple way, make the phone vibrate for calls?
(I actually have an app for profiles and didn't notice this behaviour until a friend asked. I don't want my solution to people to what used to be simple to be "hey, get this profile app I use, spend 10 mins configuring that, and you're good to go!")...
I love my N6, but the in call volume is atrocious. I can barely hear anyone on the end. I can't see why google wouldn't have a immediate fix for this, its ridiculous.
When I was CM11 while I was on phone, when apps get notifications, phone vibrated. Now with marshmallow on Nexus 5 doesn't vibrate. This function is useful to me while I'm on call, because it allows me to see if I'm getting another call when busy as I receive sms alert. How can I do to reactivate this?
I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
I'm an immigrant to Android from iOS. On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.
I bought a Nexus 5 at the weekend and I can't stop it from vibrating when a call or SMS comes in. I have a vibrate off in settings > sound > call and ringtone vibrate and also in Hangout settings but it vibrates anyway.
I've posted screen shots below showing my settings. Regardless of this it's vibrating anyway.
Have a large delay when trying to dial numbers while on a call? For example, when inputting a conference call number I have to wait 2-3 seconds between numbers otherwise I get an error.
I am using an unlocked N6 on Verizon running LMY47Z for reference.
I have had my Nexus 6 for a while now and haven't had any problems with it. But since updating android to 5.1 I can no longer turn on my screen during a phone call. I can't hang up, hit any numbers or anything else. I changed the setting so when I hit the power button it ends the call. But I am still left with the problem of not being able to hit any keys so I can't check my voicemail anymore. I tried doing a factory reset and I am still left with that same problem.
I have been on the phone with Verizon 3 times. They tell me my call waiting is turned off on their end, as I requested, but it's still interrupting me daily. Is there a way to turn it off on the phone?
On my last phone, I could swipe to redial the last call. with the Nexus 5 there eems to be two or three steps to call back a missed call. Am I missing something?
I got marshmallow update yesterday and it is awesome, but I am facing one small issue. My screen stays off after a call ends. Why is that? Facing this issue in android 6?
So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.
when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.
