when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.
View 10 RepliesSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

So I flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, I am stuck at the google logo.
View 5 Replies View Relatedtoday I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..

Today I got a "broken" nexus 5 that is in boot loop with the google logo and it wont boot into any .img
At the start i read the pinned posts and found this tutorial: [URL] ...
followed it step by step. but unfortunately it didnt work in my situation. there werent any errors or such kind. I also tried this tutorial with other images but nothing worked.
When i go to the recovery mode and press the power button the phone get into the google logo and i can see some sort of strange stripes in like a milisecond but then it just gets into the boot loop.
i really think ive tried everything accept for relocking the bootloader but cant imaging that this could be the problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo, originally the problem was the phone's screen was going black straight after the Google logo, I had a hunch that it was a fault with just the screen as it was pretty badly smashed and seemed the phone was running in the background and you could get the backlight to come on. Then all of a sudden it would stop doing it and then start again intermittently.
I flashed to 6.0 to see if might be some random ROM error, but still exact same problems. Screen came back and then went again. So I grabbed a new screen and swapped out the part. Now at least I don't have a smashed screen and faulty digitizer.
Now the problem appears to be slightly worse. The phone gets to the Google logo again now but now it completely shuts down after it, but it still gets to fastboot! (Is fastboot stored on another chip than FW? If so that worries me.)
I had been running cm 12 nightly for quite a while but wanted to try something new so I downloaded Dirty Unicorns rom and a Gapps pack. Drag and dropped both the zips into root directory, booted into cwm recovery mode, cleared everything, then installed the rom zip and then the gapps zip but it wont boot past the Google logo, I can only access recovery mode and I don't know what to do from here, is there anything I can do?

I'm running stock 5.1.1, kernel 3.4.0-gbebb36b, Build number LMY48B. The phone is rooted manually, no automatic trick.
Does randomly reboots means something? Is there a way to see what happens/what happened like an event viewer in Windows?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI've been using Nexus 5 since Nov '13, but this is the first time i'm facing a serious issue in my device.I was browsing through Chrome and my Battery was 73%, all of a sudden my device rebooted and here comes the main issue/problem.My device is suffering a boot loop only displaying the google logo for 3-5 seconds and again it reboots.Occasionally the boot animation starts but no success, again it reboots.
I tried to enter fastboot menu, it enters but it doesn't stay there for not more than 2 seconds. So I can't make any choice over there.I tried all the combinations (VOL UP+ Power, VOL DOWN+Power, pressing all the buttons), but its of no use.My device is out of power now.Even when I plug my device to charger/computer its not showing the battery charging animation instead the reboot loop occurs.I suspect it can be a problem with the power button in the board.

A few days ago my Google Nexus 5 began constantly rebooting for no apparent reason. Most times when the phone rebooted it would not even get past the Goolge logo before rebooting again. Occasionally the phone would go farther at which point it would say that it was optimizing apps. Sometimes it would reboot again right in the middle of this process. I was not connected to WiFi at the time this whole thing began so it should not have been updating in the first place.
On the rare occasions that the phone started up completely I tried running it in Safe Mode, clearing the cache and doing a factory reset in the hopes that the issue is being caused by an app, all to no avail!!!! NOW THE PHONE WON'T EVEN TURN ON!!!!
My son's nexus started rebooting on its own here and there a little less than a month ago. Last week it started boot looping. I would have to turn it off(only worked sometimes by going into fastboot mode). Tried resetting and wiping in recovery with no luck. This problem gets worse when it's plugged up to a computer the phone turns into a reboot machine. I read up it could be the power button and took it apart to find the button works fine (still cleaned out though).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

There was no response from the device. After these failed attempts I plugged it into the charging port and since then it is coming to the Google Flash screen(the one before the bubble animation) and then switching back off within a sec. I tried going to the recovery mood which i did but when i selected recovery mode using the vol up and down keys to navigate and hit on power button nothing happened,just a blank screen. View 10 Replies View RelatedI now have my nexus 5 over 8 Months and everything worked perfectly but since yesterday it stuck at the google logo. I don't mean the Boot animation, I mean the first logo which shows up after booting. After 3 seconds it shuts down and i get the same. Before this happened I just recently flashed PA Rom (4.5,3) and then afterwards the newest franco kernel by the Updater App.
First everything has worked very well, but then some strange things happened to my nexus. So it just has switched the Date and Time to 1970, Google now said it isn't supported in my country (even it is), whats app needed reauthentification and also didn't automatically recognized my county, my battery has dropped while charging from 12% to 39% within a minute and then the random reboots appeared. after the 4th one I suddenly landed at the point where I am now. I also tried lots of things like going into bootloader/ recovery and flashing an old factory Image but every time I try to it kicks me to the Google logo.
I have a problem with my Nexus. It started rebooting every 5 seconds, with different outcomes.
At first it was rebooting, then updating the apps, then when it reached the block screen, it reboots.
Tried to enter recovery and it reboots even in recovery.
I can't recover the data because the system is not up for that long to allow internal drive recognition. What should I do in your opinion?
I tried also to clear cache or enter safe mode, but it reboots anyway.. During the spinning logo, before, after. It's quite random.
So I tried to use the Nexus Root Toolkit to sideload the OTA, but now when I try to boot my phone it just shows the white google screen and doesn't do anything. I can use ADB and fastboot and get into the bootloader but I can't flash the factory image because I never checked the "Allow OEM Unlock" tick since I didn't plan on unlocking the bootloader.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my Nexus 5 phone for 16 months now - generally worked great. Occasionally it dies and wont power up, but tends to be fine once you leave it charged for 10 minutes and give it a go a few times.
However, now, it wont boot up at all. It has a mind of its own of turning on and off every few seconds, and then just staying on the Google logo before switching off again.
Very occasionally it gets to the 4 circles but again shut offs after a few seconds.
I've read a few threads that suggest pressing Vol button and power on button. I've tried that and get to the android robot screen, but it switches off like 1 second after, so im unable to select any options.
When I have connected to a charger, it constantly boots up and switches off the google logo after couple of seconds all by itself. But if not connected to a charger, then it remains off unless I press power button or give it a little knock.
I used Wugfresh nexus root toolkit and went through the unlocking and root process. It unlocked fine, went through the reboot process. Then when I selected root and recovery I got to TWRP, swiped to apply the zips, it rebooted and never got back into system. Now it just hangs on the google logo. I can get into bootloader and stock recovery still as I attempted to reflash stock through the toolkit.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.
