I bought my nexus phone recently. The phone used to become a little hot and it became worse after the updates. I have restored it to previous version and also have changed the battery. This went on for a few more days. Now my nexus 5 doesn't switch on and neither does it indicate that the battery is charging even after I keep it plugged on for a long time. I've done everything possible. Even the service centre couldn't come up with the solution.
One feature I miss from the Torch 9800 is the ability to switch songs without turning the screen on. You just simply hold volume up/down to go to next/previous song. When I listen to music while sleeping, I hate turning on the screen every time to skip a song. Even with the lowest brightness setting it is still bothersome.
I have Marshmallow and a Nexus 6. My wifi reception is very poor upstairs and I end up using mobile data when I sleep, unless I switch it off before sleeping, which can be a little annoying. Any apps, or a way of switching off mobile data when I've reached a certain GPS (or radio tower, or set a timer) location?
I've used Tasker in the past but had to root my phone for it to work. Not keen to root my Nexus because I'd like to keep using my mobile banking apps!
After updating to Android L, I noticed I could not switch my location setting to Battery Saving. I was wondering if this is a bug with L or if I'm doing something wrong...
I always press it by accident, I'd love to pop a the power menu (long press) instead of turning off the screen on a "standard" press.my Nexus 5 is right now unrooted, so I rather have a solution that doesn't depend on that, but if there is no other way, I'll do that..
Even though I've got Enable Widgets unticked on the security settings of the phone, I still get a Camera icon in the bottom right corner of the lock-screen. This means people could pick up the phone and add pictures (and also so far this morning I've taken a photo of the side of my leg as I've taken the phone out of a pocket).
I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.
when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.
(Nexus5) my phone 1 year old rebooting automatically..... not even going to home page..... this is the 1st problem which I am facing in this one year by using nexus5.
I tried to plug the battery start it up but it doesn't work. Is it possible get it working? I just want to keep it around plugged in and stream stuff to chromecast occasionally.
My Nexus 5 does not charge anymore. Battery icon shows that the phone is charging, but not really...I left the phone on charger for days and when checked, the phone was dead.
-Tried to charge it on off/on phone -Factory Reset -Power button trick -Safe mode -New battery -Replaced charging port -Different chargers -USB Charging -On charger tested the battery port with multi-meter: it shows 4.27v
I have nexus 5 on sprint. In my office I get 60 mbs download speeds I would like to use my phone as a hot spot. When I turn on hotspot on my phone any device that connects to it sates no internet connection. I have installed debloated firmware. any good application I can install that will allow me to use my phone as hot spot?
updating my Nexus 5 to marshmellow has left it stuck at the boot animation. I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Kwongger's NEXUS 5 Toolkit v2.2 completed successfully but didn't improve anything. Trying to flash Cyanogenmod I run into adb "unauthorised". The device had usb debugging enabled and the RSA key of the PC was accepted but after multiple factory resets it appears to be gone.
I'm not sure what app is causing. I expect it when I'm backing out of Facebook or something but this but sometimes when I'm backing out of Gmail and right now just happened when I was making a phone call. Any way to find out which app is causing this?
I use the nexus wireless charger and as well as battery packs and the supplied charger and the phone gets to around 113F or 45C most of the time just charging ...
I've noticed over the last week or so that my N5 gets hot when I browse the web for a few seconds. It gets insanely hot when I try to use navigation as well. I've never had a phone get this hot, this often. It seems like the simplest task makes the device very warm.
Around a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.
I held my device out of the sun roof to record a Snapchat while my friend was driving highway and after a couple seconds my device rebooted. I just want to know if there is some sort of explanation for this.
I don't know if is the phone or Sprint, but there's any way to keep LTE on while on a phone call. I know my galaxy 1 and my IPhone 5s the LTE stay on during phone calls.
I just bought the device yesterday and it My gets warm (not hot) even when only using Google chrome. I also feel that the battery is draining fast when I'm using the device . I owned a Samsung Note 2 before and it never got warm even when I used it intensively.
After I plugged my Nexus 5 into the phone charger last night it kept turning off and then it kept trying to turn back on again but it would usually only make it to the Google startup logo. I unplugged it and still got the same results. Today I tried turning it on a few times.
Finally it began to work but it started up resetting itself as a new phone. Therefore I lost all of my apps, settings, photos, and text messages.
From yest evening, wen my battery drained out, i kept my Nexus 5 for charging, and wen i kept for charging phone is switching on n restarting automatic, confused a lot, took it to LG servicing center(rajajinagar), they said mother board gone kaput for mother board they told me the cost will be 14k...
When I connect the phone to the compute w/ a USB cable (yes, the one that came with it), the computer does not recognize it as a device. I've checked and the phone's settings as "Connect as:
Media Device (MTP)" checked.
When I connect it, it shows in the Device Manager as "Android Device -> Google Nexus ADB Interface"; but the computer can't access it via MTP, and ADB lists no devices.
