Xperia Z2 :: Can't Backup Photos - PC Companion Saying Phone Has 0 Bytes Memory Left
Apr 18, 2015
1) For some reason this time the phone insists for me to update using PC. I connect it using PC Companion, it says my phone has 0 bytes memory left, I deleted some stuff and same. No matter what I do I have 0 bytes free left in my phone, so I can't update my phone, and so I can't get rid of the stupid notification in the phone as well.
2) I tried to backup my photos from the phone, opened "File Manager" via PC Companion, looked into the "Pictures" folder but it's only showing 2% of all my photos in the phone. Clicked on literally every single folders and still can't find the first of the pictures.
I only have 4 MB of space left on drive C: Phone Memory on my Nokia N86 8MP, yet when I access the folder there's nothing in it for me to delete. I think that this problem came about as such things as Ovi Maps would automatically install to C: drive without giving me the option to save it anywhere else.
I get an error if i want to make a backup with the Sony PC Companion because my phones memory is encrypted. I have not encrypted my phones memory so how do i decrypt my phones memory.
When I select photos and videos to delete in order to make space, the phone just won't delete them! It just quickly reverts back to home screen. Trying to install an app just results in touching "install" and nothing happens. May be due to no bytes available (?) How do I delete all these silly 1,600 videos and photos my kids have taken?
When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
I'm getting really, really frustrated. PC Companion use to detect my phone, but no longer does. I've connected by bluetooth, but this is inconsistent. I know the drivers are downloaded with PC Companion, but uninstalling, installing, searching for drivers hasn't worked.
PC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.
I have a Z2 and the latest software update arrived yesterday and I want to update my phone but pc companion can't recognize my phone and I have tried all of the following instructions that it gave me but still nothing!
I now that the new 2.1 software is out so i checked on my phone to see if i could download it. It said that i should connect my phone to my computer and download it. When I do, PC Companion says my phone is up to date. What's the solution?
when i try to backup my phone on the mass memory, it gives me two errors:first one is the usual, file manager, memory full, close some applications and try again.the second is this, operation aborted. another operation is in progress. try again later.Do you want to get all the firmware updates for your phone? Get a SIM-free one!
So I tried to update my phone to Lollipop via your Companiom app but it failed and now I have bricked phone..I ve tried repair my phone, but it every single time hangs on same spot..
There were couple of posts done by me for the same issue early in this forum. What I am not expecting is
1. any links to older discussions about pc companion connectiviy.
2. use of update service and shutdown and start machine or re install pc companion.
Nothing works for me. So please provide any solution if it is actually solves my problem. My problem is one fine bad day, I connected my xperia neo where PC companion is installed on windows xp is not detecting my phone. It rotates rotates rotates and finally says unable to detect phone. and asks to reconnect again.
Nothing was changed in phone or in my pc for this issue. I have tried almost all (mpt clean/cache clean/stop & start, windows media player reinstall, pc companion reintall , update service) etc etc. One thing observed is whenever I clean mtp service and stop service and connects with usb, pc companion is detecting for first time. When I remove again and reconnect, it stops recognizing phone again. CAN I GET A RIGHT SOLUTION ??How can I update to ICS if usb connection is not detecting??? And I don't have blutook in my laptop.

How can I backup photos to a USB drive from a samsung galaxy s6? I have a micro USB to USB A adapter, but what is the process / app for backing up my photos and vids from the phone to a USB drive.
I want to use go backup to backup my phone numbers and apps but when I choose memory card,It gives me error and it says ''No contacts or no permission to read''.
If you have a Defect Tracking System, I can seriously take up the job of Ad-Hoc tester. The first time I tried the Backup, I was connected to PC companion ( I was going to perform a repair, I wanted to back up first)Turns out that Backup doesn't see the memory card if the phone is connected through USB.
1- It should at least improve the error message and indicate that Backup operation can't be performed while connected via USB.
2- Why can't it perform the backup while connected via USB in the first place? In fact it would be great to allow the back up to store the data in a directory in the PC via PC COMPANION.
A lot of things around are in French, so I didn't know that it was an English forum only.So I used a translator and I hope that it is possible to understand.I just know a few words, and the questions are not very easy to write .Here's my first message, if you can read it...ill Android 4 not affect the performance of my gsm? Recommend me?It is a model more former which corresponds to my needs (size, robustness, full keyboard, price... # but that is not as powerful as the new...)I regret moreover that this type of model is abandoned, I do run high risk to my gsm # which explains my requirements: motorcycle, horseback...) !If I switch to Android 4, what measures to take to lose any data? Why does exist - it not, as on the x 10 mini pro, a backup application and restoration which took into account all the parameters?I had to fight to find an app I can retrieve my sms...Most of the proposed synchros do not support all of the data.
In addition, PC Companion tends to demand Outlook, mine is so old that it is not running on this PC.On my other computer, I have tried several routes to reinstall PC Companion, without success...Why this software does not a full backup of the internal memory? For the memory card, just make a copy. So, I went in all directions, with questions in bulk, but I spent hours to configure an device that is never as the successor of mineI have a new problem. I've made everything they said with the battery when I bought the phone. After a few days, the battery can't stand one day. Or I used the phone a few minutes to show pictures, I had a call (2 minutes), nothing more... I'm not really happy because to change the battery, I have to send the phone and they reinitialize everything
I lost my nexus 5, 15days ago. All photos were saved in google photos. yet my account is not showing any backup of those pictures. All other google apps have successfully retrieved data but google photos has no backup. Is there anyway I can retain those pictures?
I've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.
After installing many apps my phone now says that its low on memory. but i do have 1.75 GB available space on my memory card. How can I install the Apps on memory card instead of phone memory?
