View 4 Replies View RelatedI've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX".
When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account.
I just got a new samsung s6 edge previously an apple user and really annoyed by this phone, all I hear from friends is apple is so crap well I've never had an issue with iphones for me they worked how they were meant to work, now I have the s6 edge and problem after problem doing the most basic of things, the most annoying of which is photos.
I'm trying to drag photos from the dcim folder of the phone to my windows 8.1 desktop, obviously connected by usb I have the drivers installed etc have used both the mtp and ptp options in phone, neither option works each time I drag to desktop all the windows close screen turns grey like explorer crashes and the desktop refreshes, also done copy and paste does the same thing.
I don't want to use software as only way to do it which is slow and laborious is like google photos etc. surely if its treated as a storage device just copy and drag, really annoyed as it should be so simple.
Just got the latest Windows update for my Nokia Lumia 710 and realize you now get a prompt that "Microsoft monitors all search and text messages using your voice." That's new.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMicrosoft has come up with incentives, like plying developers with free phones and the promise of prime spots in its app store and in Windows Phone advertising. It is even going so far as to finance the development of Windows Phone versions of well-known apps something that app makers estimate would otherwise cost them anywhere from $60,000 to $600,000, depending on the complexity of the app. The tactic underscores the strong positions of Google and Apple, neither of which have to pay developers to make apps. url...

I was using Edgar28's XtreStoLite 2.1, and wanted to put 2.2 on the S6. I knew v2.2 needed a new bootloader and modem to be loaded in ODIN, so I did.
Before I did that, I made the TWRP backup on the usb stick, so if anything would happen I could go back.
Well, as I usually did with my Note 4 when installing a new ROM, I completely wiped everything except for the microSD card and the USB OTG.
But at that point I forgot the S6 doesn't use the microSD so I would probably be lost of all the photo's (yes because I also forgot to set up OneDrive).
Then I realised I had to go back because I forgot about my photo's. So I put back the modem and boatloader for XtreStoLite 2.1 and loaded the TWRP backup in the restore.
I hoped it'd start right up, but it does not. It comes in a bootloop, even before the animated samsung logo.
So then I tried installing XtreStoLite 2.1 without a wipe, and the system started but I couldn't see my photo's, the were gone.
Then I loaded the original firmware via odin over the backup, and I did see the photo's, but they were all grayed out. Like they were there but you wouldn't be able to see them.
What can I do to restore the photo's from the TWRP backup?
I was recently noticing some differences in the pictures saved in the stock S6 Gallery app and those backed up in the Google Photos app. Even though I have the Photos app set to upload "full size"... there is a noticeable difference when it comes to clarity and ability to zoom. Is there a fix that I am simply overlooking? Because it's not even close to be honest.

View 1 Replies View Related1) For some reason this time the phone insists for me to update using PC. I connect it using PC Companion, it says my phone has 0 bytes memory left, I deleted some stuff and same. No matter what I do I have 0 bytes free left in my phone, so I can't update my phone, and so I can't get rid of the stupid notification in the phone as well.
2) I tried to backup my photos from the phone, opened "File Manager" via PC Companion, looked into the "Pictures" folder but it's only showing 2% of all my photos in the phone. Clicked on literally every single folders and still can't find the first of the pictures.
My Galaxy S5 is set up to synchronize with my Microsoft exchange server. Emails synchronize perfectly and calendar events entered on my Microsoft exchange account synchronize with my Galaxy S5. The problem is, calendar events entered on my Galaxy S5 do not synchronize to my Microsoft Exchange calendar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem for the longest time now. My s6 refuses to connect to any pc. My first laptop had windows 7 on it and the s6 would successfully connect to it. That laptop is no more and i upgraded to a new one with win 10 installed on it. This laptop along with 2 others windows 7 completely refuses to connect to my phone. I think i have tried every "solution" but nothing works. My phone is rooted with a custom rom and the fast charge also refuses to work. I need to be able to connect to windows so i can reinstall the original firmware for a warranty exchange. Yes, i have all sumsung drivers installed, i have the original cable (and more), i tried smart switch, it still doesn't work.

Are they there or were they not backed up? If they are there why weren't they restored and what can I do to restore them?

View -1 Replies View RelatedIt's been about 4 years since I had an Android phone (back from the dark side) and I am getting our shared calendar setup.
My Windows Google calendar to my wife's Windows Google calendar is fine, syncs within 20-30 seconds. Seems like the sync to her Note5 and my S6 is so slow that to be sure we are getting the calendar updates we have to go in and manually sync the Google account on each phone. This process takes a good 5 mins and is not ideal to be doing it all day long to ensure we have the latest events.
Is there something I can check/change to get the sync to happen a bit more automatically/frequently on the phones?
In preparation for a potential factory reset, see post on TouchWiz, I wanted to copy off my files from the phone to my desktop. I can see the files I want using "My Files" on the phone, but when I use Windows Explorer (Win10) with the phone connected over USB, the folders are empty. I've never had trouble finding files before but I add this is the first time I'm trying with Windows 10.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in my phone via USB and try to transfer files from the phone to the card I get:
Waiting: Samsung-SM-G900V is busy.
I can transfer them to a temp folder on my PC, then move them to the card. But, can't do it directly from phone to card as I used to be able to.
It still works fine on Win7.
I recently bought a factory-unlocked 32gb S6 (g920i) and spent the past few weeks setting up my applications, launcher, etc. For reasons that are not pertinent to my question, I've decided to return the S6 and replace it with a 32gb S6Edge (g925i).
Is there a way I can COMPLETELY clone all the apps, data, and settings between the two phones? I understand that the phones are close to identical but I suspect it is not safe to restore an S6 backup onto an S6Edge. Am I right about that? Assuming this is the case how can I preserve all my settings?
When I bought the S6 I migrated from a Moto X and it did a good job of installing my apps but none of the app-specific data or settings got transferred. Will SmartSwitch do this or do I need something like Helium?
I have my Samsung Galaxy S6 but I'm very dissapointed to find out that the S6 is not supported at all by Kies 3. I had an S3 before, and I backed up all the data onto my PC with Kies 3, then factory reset the device and sent to a family member in another country who wanted it. You can imagine my frustration upon trying to restore that data to my S6 with Kies 3 only to find it telling me to use Smart Switch. However, Smart Switch only will allow you to restore backups from Apple, Nokia, or Blackberry devices. A Samsung rep has told me that there is no way to restore data backups on PC from a Samsung device to the Galaxy S6. This seems like a massive oversight to me, as Kies 3 was an amazing support program to me, and the only way to remedy my problem is to purchase an older Samsung device compatible with Kies 3, restore the data to that device, then Smart Switch from the older device to the S6.

Wll, when I tried connecting my phone, it says "Your phone is having troubles" error message. The instruction says to power off the phone. But no luck. View 10 Replies View RelatedI got a new phone and set fingerprint password. It didn't really work so I got rid of it and just used a PIN. Now that I got my scanner fixed I want to use it again but it needs the backup password which I don't have. I tried scanning my finger and it didn't work. It will not let me scan again and is asking for the backup password for it to be able to open. I am not locked out of my phone rather I just need the backup password to change some settings. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the backup password without resetting my phone and keep in mind I am not locked out and still have full access just not the backup password?
