View 14 Replies View RelatedI am wonderimng just how safe the iphone 4 is - if someone has access to your phone (say a family member) can they put sometrhing on ur iphone (that isn't jail broken) that tracks your activity - particularly things like messages in facebook (by using the messenger app that you can down load from the app store)? If so is there anyway to tell if it's been done? Everything I read seems to indicate that its not possible to install spyware on an iphone - but strange things happen - including slow response and being logged out of online accounts (ie facebook messenger). I know that one solution would be to restore to factory defaults but when you do this is it ok to restore your phone from back up or should it be rstored like a new phone (especially if the itunes account is a shared account)?

Does anybody know if this is a software limitation or a hardware limitation? If it's a software limitation, then I can always hope that a future version of the OS might give me this capability. But if it's a hardware limitation, then I guess there's no hope.

I purchased the 4S solely for safety of using Siri while driving. The normal response is that it does not understand my request. Or I am cut off in mid sentence. "Call Beth Cell" is not a long request. Nor is "Call Karen Work". Yet, Siri can't respond. Windows are up, air conditioner is quiet, radio is off. I have tried using the Apple headphones that came with the phone, tried without. No difference.
Last week I spent the entire 45 minute drive home working with Siri to call my wife to let her know I was on my way home.
Siri is hellbent not to operate properly. And I wasted my $200 to go to 4S.
Btw, tilt back doesn't work sine latest up date 5.1.1. Where you bring the phone to your ear at home screen, so I must hold the button!

I just acquired my N900 two days ago from a Nokia authorised dealer in Nigeria and even convinced a colleague to pick one yesterday as well.I live in Nigeria and my GSM operator is etisalat, im presently experiencing difficulties with using service commands on my phone. For instance, when i dial *235(hash, sorry cant find the symbol on my macbook pro) to check my balance; i get an error message saying "number incorrect". Other service commands dont also work. Is there a way around this?
Its frustrating also that there is no official Nokia plugin for isync. I use a macbook pro and cant seem to find a way around syncing both devices. In the interim, I found www.salling.com very useful in transferring my media files.
Just received my hs-700 headset in the mail, now the issue is whenever I try to say a command, it ends up calling 1 person. over and over and over and over again.It doesn't recognize any commends. I'm speaking 100% clear and coherent for it to understand me. It was working at first when I tried calling that one person. It asked me to confirm whether or not I wished to call home or his mobile, I chose mobile. Now anyone I try to call through the exact same voice command (hold button down 2 seconds to initialize voice sequence, then say call and person's name), it calls the same guy!
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use a voice command application such as Google's Voice Search or Vlingo the phones microphone is disabled. Both applications run an animation that lets you know that the phone is "hearing". I receive no indication that the mic is active. However, if I plug my (Non-Mic) headphones into the Triumphs jack the voice recognition comes alive. This lasts for one command though. If I try to voice a second command I again get no response. At this point pulling the headphones out of the jack again activates the voice application for one command.

It seems to dominate my bluetooth button and I can't find a way to disable it. It's the worst piece of software ever. I have 3,000+ contacts and it takes 45-60 seconds of waiting just to say a command that it invariably won't recognize when google voice actions takes a second to launch and works every time. I've been using the speech to text feature on my phone ever since I first got it 6 months ago.
However, today I opened my messaging app (stock) and I was looking for the little microphone key beside the space bar, and it's missing.
I use Google keyboard and I haven't changed any settings. The speech to text feature is literally non existent now.
I've reinstalled Google keyboard, played around with all the settings, but I just can't figure out why its gone.
I just got the LG G3 about 2 months ago. For the first 6-7 weeks all was good and normal. About a week ago, I went to "speak" a text msg like I've been doing up until then where the microphone icon has gone missing. I'm sure as I was playing with setting, along the line I must have done something I shouldn't have taking away my microphone icon. I've tried a few things but can't seem to get it back. Seems that the area I need to get to, to turn it on, is grayed out. I've attached a few pics.

Whenever I tap on Voice cmds there is a beep and a popup appears, saying "Voice commands cannot be used at the moment".I can see that Martin is present in the Phone Setup speech settings and that he is ready to speak in English (UK).
