i used my sony pc commpanion to try to upgrade my sony erricson mini pro (sk17i) to the new ics OS . halfway thru the download i get a screen which says softare update failure. thats like half an hour thru the downloading process. my si nummber is liisted on the sony website for the official upgrade. (1249-0761). A company of sony s repute really needs to offer better customer service.

I selected Option 2 to connect my mobile to laptop to use internet from mobile. Through PCSuite and PC Companion am not able to access internet. In PC Suite it shows mobile not connected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedEverytime i recieve or make a call on my phone, the phone screen goes blank. i can answer the call but i cant end it as there is no screen. after the call has finished the phone freezes and the only way to restart the phone is to take out the battery.
PS i have done reset, master reset and updated the phone to the newest software available and i have only had the phone a few days.
I got a message to update my phone software, when I connected my phone to my pc, and after I started the process i got the Sony Update Engine Failure (error 100) message. Now I CAN'T USE MY PHONE. Every time I start it i get the message:

Don't tell me to delete/restore my phone because I'm not gonna do that. I have important data on that phone and I'm not gonna delet it just because you can't make something work ok.
I recently bought Xperia Z3, and am trying to update it...getting the error "Sony Update Engine failure (error 1200)

Basically I updated my girlfriend's Mini Pro (Hong Kong SI) the other day with SUS to ICS (4.0.4); did the clean wipe and update option. Everything has been working fine with much improved browser speed etc, however, today the camera just stopped working.Literally, the camera app draws a blank and 3rd party Camera apps just say cannot connect to camera. The only solution was a manual reboot of the phone. Is this a common for others who've updated to ICS?

I can see the device on device manager for a short while, try to update the drivers manually but this does not work either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just re-updated my X10 Mini to see if it would run any smoother. Since then I cannot access the Sony Ericsson sync. I've tried adding the account in settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Sony Ericsson sync, it goes to the Sont Ericsson login screen and will not go past that after I have enterewd my details, or5 it redirects me to the login to the website dashboard. I'm getting no opportunity to authorise the account and now I cannnoot sync my contacts as I don't use the Google account for that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI follow the instructions however when I plug the phone back in, holding down the backup button, nothing happens.The computer tells me it notices a semc flash device, however the computer freezes and the phone itself just goes to the battery charge screen.I have to disconnect the phone and reboot the computer. Luckily the phone still has all its information when I turn it on again.

Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.

A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to share my experience. I did the update on November 8. I didn't bother to do the backup. The only real important is the contacts and Google have them already. I used the Update Service tool and it worked like a charm. After restarting the phone I had to go through the setup wizard, which by the way is much improved. I now realized that I had lost all my downloaded applications. I downloaded them again from market. Most of them had all the old data, nice. Some games lost all history, no big deal really. My contacts, mail and calendar was downloaded from Google.
I realy like the fact that it is possible to send contacts by SMS. The images from facebook also works very well.
The one thing that I am still not used to is the unlooking. The habbit of pressing the menu button twice is had to kick. I think the new way with the slider is somewhat safer.Now I am waiting 2.2 with tethering. I hope this will be available for X10 mini some time in the future.
My sony xperia x10 mini pro turns itself off and back on again alone time after a call or surfing the net sometimes there are days that turn off 3 and 4 times has already twice to the repair and continues with the same problem I bought this smartphone to 8 months is still in warranty.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my mini pro to ICS, it works fine in the first few moments until I realized that my phone can't:
1. Show any album art/cover from the music player. I've tried using the Sony Media Go to add the album arts to the file properties, still it didn't work. Only the 'default' songs from the product i.e brett5000: Globalization, missquerada: Far from love, and 2 others, can display their album cover
2. Update songs. Any new songs that I put into my phone through Sony Media Go aren't shown in the music player, only the old ones are present (though I've deleted it). I found the files when I opened it using a file manager program from the Play Store, but when I played it, none of its properties are present except the title of the song itself. It's not even present in the music player
Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..
syncing my mini pro to google - especially calendar and contacts, theese are the two most important features of the phone for me. In the past but more often recently (actually every time I sync via internet connection), I get theese notifications: am using Bussines Calander Free app as my calendar app. Could this be issue with PC Companion or with BCF?
