Xperia Mini/pro :: Main Camera Failure After Clean ICS Update For It?
Jun 25, 2012
Basically I updated my girlfriend's Mini Pro (Hong Kong SI) the other day with SUS to ICS (4.0.4); did the clean wipe and update option. Everything has been working fine with much improved browser speed etc, however, today the camera just stopped working.Literally, the camera app draws a blank and 3rd party Camera apps just say cannot connect to camera. The only solution was a manual reboot of the phone. Is this a common for others who've updated to ICS?
I have a new X10 mini pro and I updated to Android 2.1.
Camera worked for a while without problems, but recently I moved the camera icon in one of the corners.
After that, the camera button (after the focusing position, when pressed till the end) just turns the main menu on without taking the picture. However, camera works sometimes without problems (one in five attempts). I reinstalled the software using SEUS, but the problems still persists.
i used my sony pc commpanion to try to upgrade my sony erricson mini pro (sk17i) to the new ics OS . halfway thru the download i get a screen which says softare update failure. thats like half an hour thru the downloading process. my si nummber is liisted on the sony website for the official upgrade. (1249-0761). A company of sony s repute really needs to offer better customer service.
After updating the x10mp to 2.1, I have lost the ability to use the camera to take pictures. The camera does work for recording videos, saves them too. What happens is that when I take a picture, the camera makes the shutter sound, and then just goes to a blank dark screen. The phone is still on and can go back to the menus. I have tried different sd card, multiple updates, factory resets so far.
I am a new user of Xperia Mini.As the upgrade to the ICS is not easily reversible, I would like to know what exact changes to camera interface/behaviour are introduced in the update. Particularly:
I follow the instructions however when I plug the phone back in, holding down the backup button, nothing happens. The computer tells me it notices a semc flash device, however the computer freezes and the phone itself just goes to the battery charge screen.I have to disconnect the phone and reboot the computer. Luckily the phone still has all its information when I turn it on again.
I bought an xperia mini last november and now, the back and menu keys interchange their functions.also, when im texting, the menu options keep on popping out that hinders me to txt. :<its been almost 2 months since i bought my phone and now wtf?!=.=I WENT TO THE WHERE I BOUGHT MY PHONE BUT THEY'RE PERMANENTLY CLOSED.!!HOW AM I GOING TO USE MY WARRANTY WITHOUT THE DEALER'S SIGNATURE??
My Xperia Mini Pro has a fault with the keyboard - when I slide it out it activates, ie the background light comes on but then it goes out. Sometimes it stays on a for a few seconds whilst fully open but then goes off. Nothing physical has happened to the phone and it doesn't seem to be a loose connection or anything. I've tried updating the software but that didn't help.
I live in the Philippines and I have been trying and trying to update my phone to 2.1 in my computer and I always get the same results. My OS is windows XP and I have tried both PC companion and SE Update service for the upgrade. When it comes to the part where I have to "turn off the phone...wait for 5 or 30 secs, connect the cables etc then press the back button while inserting the microUSB into the phone"....then nothing happens. My computer just freezes after a few minutes with nothing indicating on the screen that something...anything is going on. I have tried this several times and for several days already.
I just got a new Z3, and the auto focus on the main camera isn't working. I can hear a click when I open the app, or when I switch from the front camera to the rear one - is that a normal sound? I changed the camera settings, cleared the app data, tried using Google Camera, and even reset the phone. Is there anything else I should try? Is my camera defective?
Getting "Uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException" when trying to access text from main screen icon. I can still text if I access through contacts / recent activity if I've been texting them recently. I've tried power cycling but still get the error.
The photographs I take with my Z3 main camera are blurred, hazy and lack color saturation & focus. I have read elsewhere that this might result from a defective lens cover with scratched anti-glare coating. Is there an easy way to fix this?
I am looking for a thread or would like to create one that will instruct a newbie on how to clean up (or hide) those apps I don't want or use, on the main screen. Also would like to know recommendations as to best apps to have, that don't suck memory. (Maybe an app to free up wasted space?)
My phone was in the middle of the update and then there was a power outage in my house. Now when I turn my phone on, there's an error message that I can't get past. I've tried plugging it back into the computer, but PC companion doesn't recognize it anymore and I can't do anything with the phone itself.
I just updated my Z2 and now it says the software update failed. I have tried turning it off and on again from the sim slot, turned it off with power and volume +, i have tried the companion app but it dosent regonize the phone as a phone or anything else. it just deletes everything else but support zone and media go. the support zone dosent contain anything else than the back button and media go is just media go. what should i do?
I got a message to update my phone software, when I connected my phone to my pc, and after I started the process i got the Sony Update Engine Failure (error 100) message. Now I CAN'T USE MY PHONE. Every time I start it i get the message:  the software update failed make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again  Don't tell me to delete/restore my phone because I'm not gonna do that. I have important data on that phone and I'm not gonna delet it just because you can't make something work ok.
So I tried to update my phone to Lollipop via your Companiom app but it failed and now I have bricked phone..I ve tried repair my phone, but it every single time hangs on same spot..
I was updating my X10 and I did as it was procedured. but about 3 houres after I turned off the X10, pressed and hold the back bottom, connected the cable and the updating started, a wonderful message appeared mean your update failed, try later! I dissconnected the phone. it dosn't turn on!when I connect it to charger or computer there is no response!when I press and hold the turn on key the red LED begins to turn on and off for about one hour and remain off again!
Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.
The camera app on my Z3 times out, and the camera app closes and returns me to the main screen, after 30 seconds. Sometimes that isn't long enough -- I'm waiting for a specific thing to happen that I want to photograph, like the start of a sporting event, and reopening the camera app is a pain.
I'm getting the following error when trying to check corporate sync emails :"The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I've tried again and I still get an error. I've tried rebooting and I still get an error. Yahoo and Gmail are fine.I also get this error when I try to amend the settings in Accounts:"The application Email authenticator (process com.motorola.provider.authenticator) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."There are loads of posts of this topic for all Motorola Android phones (this is the first discussion for Motorola Razr) - none of them have a decent solution!
Man, I have a ton of dirt, lint, and what seems to be a tiny hair in the flash on my camera. Is it possible to pop off the cover without damaging the phone and put it back on easily? I was gonna give it a go, but wanted to see if anyone else has done the same or had any thoughts.
After having it 3 days, just about to write about how XPRT is a "Blackberry Killer" then took some pics at the 5MP res and found a lot of "picture noise" in my shots. In some online discussions some say it may have to do with Froyo. Everything else on the phone is amazing. But there is something wrong with the camera. Shots are not clean and crisp. I cleaned the lens and checked all the settings and have a pretty steady hand.
