Xperia Z3 :: Screen Timeout - Camera App Closes And Returns To Main Screen
Jun 3, 2015The camera app on my Z3 times out, and the camera app closes and returns me to the main screen, after 30 seconds. Sometimes that isn't long enough -- I'm waiting for a specific thing to happen that I want to photograph, like the start of a sporting event, and reopening the camera app is a pain.

Jan 15, 2016I was taking some picture and suddenly I got a black screen. Then whenever I use the rear camera it gives me only black screen if I tried to take photo it took a while then give me a defect photo that i can't open. It doesn't work for both photos and videos. The front camera works fine. I noticed also that I have an issue with the flash too that when I open it I can't close it except with a restart.
I have tried the following:
1-) force shutdown with power button and volume up
2-) force shutdown with the off key.
3-) factory reset
4-) repair through pc companion.
but unfortunately all doesn't work.

Aug 18, 2014From 10 tentatives that I tried to open the camera, in 4 times the camera crash ... A black screen occur, until the message "App camera must be closed" or a lot of red/pink lines occurs in the image and freeze the camera app too.
I saw red lines with my S3 with Cyanogen OS ... It's appears conflict between software x hardware...

Jul 6, 2014I've had my Xperia Z2 for about a month, three days ago the camera wouldn't start. When I open the app the screen is black. It's also the same if I try to start the camera using Instagram or Snapchat. I've tried to restart the unit and cacheclan phone to see if storage was the problem. I`ve also tried to connect to the "update service" but when I hold the "volume down button" and connect the usb I get a message that the program can't find the unit. Starting to be a bit frustrated. I'ts just problem with the front/main camera, not the small one.

May 26, 2015I have Z2 with latest 5.0 build (28). 1-2 days since i updated my phone, camera app stopped working. I open it and it's just a black screen with control buttons. It doesn't make pictures. I tried to reset my phone with PCC, but problem stayed. I downloaded other camera apps from Play Market and they also didn't work, then i turned off stock camera app (in settings) and other camera apps worked fine. When i turn stock camera app back it works for some hours and then again black screen.

Feb 4, 2011Newbie here with a brand spanking new Xperia 8.This may seem petty, but on the camera viewing screen there are two black lines down either side, similar to a widescreen TV broadcasting a show that is in a non-widescreen normal format.
I have convinced myself that I have done something to make this happen and that it wasn't like that at first. So my question is, can these be removed in some setting somewhere is this how it actually is all the time?

Feb 20, 2015I have bought Xperia z3 for 2 months. I have just noticed something that might be a problem with my camera.
In camera mode (both video and camera) sometime the screen shows soft black wave running from top to bottom (for more understanding about "black wave" just like when you focus the camera on TV screen). However I didn't focus my camera on TV screen anymore. The problem last for 1-5 minutes. When this problem occurred If I go on and take a photo sometime the wave could be captured into my photo as well but mostly these running black wave can not be captured into the photo.
(I have attached a photo taken when the running black wave problem occurred and this time it was captured in my photo.

I can hear a click when I open the app, or when I switch from the front camera to the rear one - is that a normal sound? Camera worked for a while without problems, but recently I moved the camera icon in one of the corners.
After that, the camera button (after the focusing position, when pressed till the end) just turns the main menu on without taking the picture. However, camera works sometimes without problems (one in five attempts). I reinstalled the software using SEUS, but the problems still persists.

Jun 25, 2012Basically I updated my girlfriend's Mini Pro (Hong Kong SI) the other day with SUS to ICS (4.0.4); did the clean wipe and update option. Everything has been working fine with much improved browser speed etc, however, today the camera just stopped working.Literally, the camera app draws a blank and 3rd party Camera apps just say cannot connect to camera. The only solution was a manual reboot of the phone. Is this a common for others who've updated to ICS?

Jun 7, 2010Recently I purchased an E75 off of Ebay. The problem is, whenever I try to utilize the main camera, all I see is blackness. The viewfinder does not seem to work at all. Scrolling through the camera toolbar takes a while and tooltips remain on the screen without fading away as they supposedly should. I have tried taking picture regardless of the issue, but I recieved an error message which says "Unexpected error has occurred. Restart your phone." or something similar. I get the same result in Video Mode.I have done hard resets and firmware updates to the latest firmware possible, but to no avail. What could it be? Would I need to take it to a Nokia Care Center?

Sep 8, 2011On sunday my phone was water damaged in an accident at work and wouldnt switch on again. took the sim card, memory card and battery out and left in airing cupboard to dry out over night. monday morning it started up fine and seemed to be working normally, the only problem being that the battery life is now serverely reduced. used the camera to take a photo at 12.33pm on monday, camera was working fine. last night (wed) i downloaded an app called who is it led and also noticed another app had appeared which was a free torch light, which eminated light from the camera flash. i then went to use my camera, the screen comes up with the geotagging location and menu bar at the bottom but says cannot load camera due to another appliction being open. check and retry to open camera and same message again. then uninstall the who is it led and the free torch app and reboot. try to load camera and the menus come up but the screen is totally blank and the camera soft key on the touch screen wont work. tried rebooting, taken battery out and sim card again several times but still no joy.
