IPhone :: Camera Screen Is Completely Black When Turn The Camera On?
Apr 19, 2012
my iphone4 camera screen is completely black when i turn the camera on. it just started today. up until last night it was working fine. if i switch the camera to reverse side towards me, it works fine as well. only when it's towards the object, the screen is totally black. what should i do?
When using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes become black or have blue stripes on it! Is this a hardware or software problem? Can this issue be covered by my warranty? I bought it inmid-december last year, and this problem came at around Late January. It's a rare case, only came about 5 times, but this really concerns me. What's wrong with it?
My iPhone 4 is completely destroyed. I can't get a new one at the moment and am using an old android until then.Â
In order to receive any messages from iPhone users via my spare android I need to turn off iMessage. Can't turn off iMessage via iPhone because screen is completely black.Â
It's my boyfriend's iPhone & we've dropped it plenty of times in the past going on 6 months now, so you can imagine it has plenty of cracks & the back had come off to where we taped it back on. Recently - a few days to a week ago I dropped it & it seemed fine until I tried taking a picture of our cats and the camera opened to a black screen. Everything else works fine except the speaker when we call out we have to put it on speaker for someone to hear us - already tried cleaning out all the ports. I don't want him to go to the iPhone store and have them complain about all the issues wrong with the phone and go extreme bill on him either. Yes I have tried restarting his phone, I just don't want to completely reboot it when it's under his mom's account & her iCloud. & The front facing camera works.
My iPhone 4 is 4 months old and the rear camera hasnt been working, the flash didnt work for a while, but now its working .my camera will show a black screen with all the buttons and stuff at the top, cant use front camera either, do i need a new rear camera?
A small, hazy and transparent dot appears on the screen when my 4s camera is in use. I know it's not on the lens because I've wiped it clean. The dot moves when the camera moves. It just started today.
Recently I purchased an E75 off of Ebay. The problem is, whenever I try to utilize the main camera, all I see is blackness. The viewfinder does not seem to work at all. Scrolling through the camera toolbar takes a while and tooltips remain on the screen without fading away as they supposedly should. I have tried taking picture regardless of the issue, but I recieved an error message which says "Unexpected error has occurred. Restart your phone." or something similar. I get the same result in Video Mode.I have done hard resets and firmware updates to the latest firmware possible, but to no avail. What could it be? Would I need to take it to a Nokia Care Center?
when i open the main camera slide, there is black screen shown and cant view anything ... the after a while, this sentence appears: "an unexpected error occurs, please switch the device off and restart".. what happens to it? how to solve this problem~~ thanks in advanced...
On sunday my phone was water damaged in an accident at work and wouldnt switch on again. took the sim card, memory card and battery out and left in airing cupboard to dry out over night. monday morning it started up fine and seemed to be working normally, the only problem being that the battery life is now serverely reduced. used the camera to take a photo at 12.33pm on monday, camera was working fine. last night (wed) i downloaded an app called who is it led and also noticed another app had appeared which was a free torch light, which eminated light from the camera flash. i then went to use my camera, the screen comes up with the geotagging location and menu bar at the bottom but says cannot load camera due to another appliction being open. check and retry to open camera and same message again. then uninstall the who is it led and the free torch app and reboot. try to load camera and the menus come up but the screen is totally blank and the camera soft key on the touch screen wont work. tried rebooting, taken battery out and sim card again several times but still no joy.
When I open camera on my s5 it shows black screen and camera does not work. today i have taken it seriously as i was trying to open my camera for a urgent purpose and it did not work. if i do not get it fixed I will throw it away (all android phones) for forever.
I have a rather different issue with camera. I have a Curve 8310 (AT&T) and when I go into camera, everything works, but the screen is black. Just the part where the "picture" is supposed to be. I can see the zoom option and I can go to the options and everything. I notice a little symbol thats like an exclamation mark with comma sized lines all the way around it.
I'm facing problem with my Xperia Z2 after updating to lollipop 23.1.A.0.726My front camera stopped working, when I try to switch to the front camera the screen goes to black.I made restore factory settings, repair by Sony pc companion
My xperia z2 camera isn't working. When i open the camera, only show the black screen with camera key and settings and take pictures but it is just black. The front camera is working well.
I was taking some picture and suddenly I got a black screen. Then whenever I use the rear camera it gives me only black screen if I tried to take photo it took a while then give me a defect photo that i can't open. It doesn't work for both photos and videos. The front camera works fine. I noticed also that I have an issue with the flash too that when I open it I can't close it except with a restart.  I have tried the following:
1-) force shutdown with power button and volume up 2-) force shutdown with the off key. 3-) factory reset 4-) repair through pc companion.  but unfortunately all doesn't work.
Just got a brand new Nexus 6P yesterday, camera was working fine. Woke up this morning and the camera produces a black screen. Cleared camera data, cache, updated, tried third party apps, then performed a factory reset. All to no avail.
It is still locked I haven't unlocked the bootloader or even rooted the device yet... literally got it yesterday.
From 10 tentatives that I tried to open the camera, in 4 times the camera crash ... A black screen occur, until the message "App camera must be closed" or a lot of red/pink lines occurs in the image and freeze the camera app too. Â I saw red lines with my S3 with Cyanogen OS ... It's appears conflict between software x hardware...
I've had my Xperia Z2 for about a month, three days ago the camera wouldn't start. When I open the app the screen is black. It's also the same if I try to start the camera using Instagram or Snapchat. I've tried to restart the unit and cacheclan phone to see if storage was the problem. I`ve also tried to connect to the "update service" but when I hold the "volume down button" and connect the usb I get a message that the program can't find the unit. Starting to be a bit frustrated. I'ts just problem with the front/main camera, not the small one.
I recently bought a new nokia E7 and not long after I decided to try out the camera but the screen stays black, as in I can see the tools but the actual camera screen is black as if somethings in front of it, when I switch to the front camera (facing me) it works fine, just the back camera wont show anything?
My mom has a 1520 that has a front camera not working. Whenever she opens the camera app, wechat, skype using the front camera the screen is just black. Is this a hardware issue?
I have Z2 with latest 5.0 build (28). 1-2 days since i updated my phone, camera app stopped working. I open it and it's just a black screen with control buttons. It doesn't  make pictures. I tried to reset my phone with PCC, but problem stayed. I downloaded other camera apps from Play Market and they also didn't work, then i turned off stock camera app (in settings) and other camera apps worked fine. When i turn stock camera app back it works for some hours and then again black screen.
Newbie here with a brand spanking new Xperia 8.This may seem petty, but on the camera viewing screen there are two black lines down either side, similar to a widescreen TV broadcasting a show that is in a non-widescreen normal format.
I have convinced myself that I have done something to make this happen and that it wasn't like that at first. So my question is, can these be removed in some setting somewhere is this how it actually is all the time?
since i update my phone to ICS 4.0.4 i experience camera issues. When in camera or video mode the screen is black (cant see nothing). But it works. If i take shot it flicker for split of second and shows image taken for that spit of second then goes back to black screen.
before ICS update it was on gingerbread. I tried with KIES but phone developed a fault. It wasn't allowing me to pass "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen. I went to local shop and they sort it out. So i don't know how they did it. Two days later i find that camera is faulty.
