Jun 20, 2012i used my sony pc commpanion to try to upgrade my sony erricson mini pro (sk17i) to the new ics OS . halfway thru the download i get a screen which says softare update failure. thats like half an hour thru the downloading process. my si nummber is liisted on the sony website for the official upgrade. (1249-0761). A company of sony s repute really needs to offer better customer service.

Nov 22, 2010Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.

Everything has been working fine with much improved browser speed etc, however, today the camera just stopped working.Literally, the camera app draws a blank and 3rd party Camera apps just say cannot connect to camera. The only solution was a manual reboot of the phone. Is this a common for others who've updated to ICS?

Jul 13, 2010have recently been having few issues with my phone, and noticed im still running the original firmware R1CB001.Installed SEUS, follows all intrustions, gets to where it has progress line for installing the firmware.the update starts but after about 30secs, i hear the sound from my pc as if ive just unplugged something from usb and then few seconds later as if something has been plugged back into usb, then the bar just jumps to the enter and says update complete.Turned phone on again, checks software version and still shows as being same as it originally was.Does anyone have any ideas on whats happening and any possible fix?

Nov 1, 2010I am trying to flash my C702 using the Update Service, however the update fails during the "Downloading" part, before the actual flashing begins. I have investigated this using wireshark and have discovered that the update program encounters a 404 file not found error. My internet connection is definitely working. Presumably the 404 error is why the update process fails. Is there any workaround I can use, or any chance that someone at Sony Ericsson could look into this matter?

Jun 25, 2012Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..

Jan 10, 2010I had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! I havent had the phone 2 weeks yet.Now i think that i need to call o2 again and ask them something like releasing my old pin maybe from my bis account or resetting the bis account,any ideas what i should do or the type of questions i need to ask o2 if i have to ring them again.

Jul 3, 2010Firstly, when I watch video on youtube about 4-6 clips - the error message appear: "Please touch to try again" - even I touch multiple times it still can not play.Â
Then, I go to the Video App (Sony), surprisingly, the video didn't play. It appear an error message: "Can not play this video" - I try with every single video on my phone and still has the same error message.
And more surprisingly, even the video on facebook have the same problem too.
So it must be like: If I watch video on any app, suddenly the clip can not play or just keep loading infinity, these app will be "infected" immideately (at the same time as well). The only thing I can do is reboot the phone.
I know reboot phone is just spend my little time around 15-30 seconds maybe. But it is very annoying to happen with very frequently.

IPhone :: Does My 4s Have A Hardware Failure - (error 28 In ITunes)
May 15, 2012In the past, my iPhone had a history of freezing up at the Apple logo or constantly searching for cellular service. Three weeks ago, my iPhone was constantly searching for cellular service and thus caused the phone to be lagging and skipping while browsing. After connecting to iTunes by USB and doing a factory reset, that solution fixed the problem.
This weekend, when I turned on the phone, it was stuck on the Apple logo. I consulted the Genius Bar at the Apple store and they suggested me to do another factory reset, with me doing a backup to my computer and not iCloud. I did so, as well as transferring data piece by piece (apps first, then music, then pictures, etc.) I did this all yesterday. Today, my phone fails to turn on at all. No Apple logo, nothing. I connect to iTunes by USB, iTunes goes to do a factory reset of the device, but an error 28 pops up and quits the restoration process. Are all these signs of hardware failure on my phone? This seems to happen everytime I turn off the phone for the day and turn it on again the next day. Are iPhones not supposed to be powered off, but constantly on?
